  1. "What? You again?!" Yes, I'm afraid so! After 60 hours of mapping in just under 2 months, Chase Mercantile's remake is almost ready for beta testing! It's bigger, better, harder and more complex than LBB's remake, so this time around I'm opting for a closed beta. If you've the time and inclination to spare, sign my GeoCities guestbook below and I'll send some DMs in a day or two!

  2. Harder you say? Sounds like a direct challenge to my manhood.

  3. Is it just me, or are the Epic Games freebies becoming more and more lame? Haven't gotten one in many weeks... Well, fair enough. They eventually had to do less expensive ones, as they all just were there to boost their store. Which obviously failed. I wonder what happens to the games when they will (potentially) close down doors. Luckily, I have most of the ones I really want already on Steam.

  4. You'll need to include the SVN glprogs in your branch. The entire shader system was refactored after the last Dev Build release. ( Or wait until the next Dev Build ) Or compile your changes against 10071 rather than the latest SVN version and include that divergent version in your branch.

  6. Thanks Vozka, glad you had a good time! I've actually gone back and made more new ambients for where I'd used stock ones here: you're right in that they're great, but we've all heard them by now. New ones will be in this mission when the next one in the campaign hits shelves worldwide, and I'll probably post a compilation if others wanna use them for variety!

  7. Really nice mission! I haven't played any of your old ones so I had no idea what to expect and it was a very pleasant surprise. Tight and great looking, the environment was really well made. Appreciated some of the new (or less used) soundscapes as well, I think it's a big part of the overall atmosphere and while pretty much all of those used in TDM are good, the effect gets lessened when you hear them all the time. Looking forward to you next work!

  9. Putting Bridgeport in the British Isles is just as, if not more, inconsistent with existing details (setting aside the fact that the wiki says it is "on the coast of Southern Europe"). Last I checked there was no "large mountain range" north of London, no "warm, temperate sea" to the south with a "much hotter continent", no "range of mountains that inhibit overland attacks" between England and Ireland. It would also be difficult for Bridgeport to be the "commercial center of the Empire" when it is not connected to the rest of the Empire by land. There would be no "Builder Roads" leading to the capital. If you find it easier to accept all of that than to imagine that this alternate version of earth might have a slightly cooler climate and a more generic fantasy culture than the real world, then more power to you. But don't pretend it's anything other than personal preference.
