  1. Thank you for the kind words! It's hard to believe this mission is nearly 10 years old too! Time really does fly. Also re: the convo's. I try to add a little bit of humor to every mission or at least a bit more flavor. I've always loved it in the thief series when I stumble across a conversation & can eavesdrop in, it helps to make the world just feel that little bit more lived in, rather than just standard NPC barks everywhere. I also have a lot of fun implementing them, I was working on a mission in Shadows of Northdale Act 3 the other night and was laughing so hard at a scene I put in there. So it's nice to know that these convos are appreciated by others too

  2. Oohhh, Bohr with another interresting contest suggestion I just wanted to pop by and see how the mod is going. And I saw that the devteam with that crazy dude Stgatilov has sent out 2.11 for beta! My belly rumbles and my legs itch for map building! It seems now that one have to relearn lots of stuff because now you can do much more advanced stuff than I learned in the beginnig. Volumetric lights and crisp textures and much more advanced stuff than my fragile brain can comprehend. I'm intrigued to start mapping again but most free time has been spent painting miniatures and with a 6 month old taffer in the house and lots of RL-issues (searching for a new house mostly) that's all I can do for my own time at the moment.

  4. Oh yes. My graphics card (an elderly HD6950 if I remember correctly) produces messed up graphics when 64-bit colour precision is selected. Unfortunately there seems to be a graphics driver bug, this was discussed at some length on this forum about a year ago.

  5. There's also a command to focus camera view on selection.

  6. TDM Modpack v2.5 released in the opening post Maintenance update: The Peek Door ability gets upgraded to v1.1 and we can now reliably peek through the "sliding door" type. The Loot Animations mod has been reviewed and improved and a nasty bug in the Fast Doors mod has been squashed. The rest of the code received minor changes in some areas. Oh, in case you didn't notice, the TDM Modpack has a new logo: You can find the download in the first post on this topic. Time to kick off the next project...

  7. The only thing I know is a mouse binding called Jump to object: you select an object in 3d view, click your key+mouse button combination, and the camera is centered to that object (in ortho view as well).

  8. I think the version is fine (sort of) if you don't dmap before play, or dmap with 2.10 or later. I'm investigating subtitle software, so if I understand how to do that I could give that a shot. And I see the mission has no EFX yet?

  9. I think I mentioned it before, but I'm 100% fine if someone wants to re-dmap and upload the corrected version of the map :-).

  10. There will be a final chapter. Since it is a massive project, I am afraid it will not be released before 2024. Also have an attack of mapping allergy right now. If you haven't played it yet, you can try "The Black Mage". It's not part of my series, but it plays very similar as I have co-authored it. The voice actor is long time DM voice talent contributor AndrosTheOxen. I have to agree with you, there are definitely similarities to John Cleese. Of course, I also asked the latter, but he didn't have time again. He won't get any more cake for Christmas!

  11. Oh and also (at least in 2.10) Tdm first install still creates an empty directory called saintlucia aside from the existing stlucia folder.

  12. I dare you to make a mission intro with your painted minitures.

  13. I disagree. I take long breaks from TDM all the time and it's very convenient to download all new or updated missions in the background once I am back! But please somebody finally remove the overlapping "no new missions" text over the list of the missions that were just downloaded...

  14. What a fun mission! I love the humorous little conversations you put in all your maps. They just add so much life and charm to the TDM world. I found one of the red shinies before I knew what they were for, and then spent an interesting twenty minutes tracking down the others. And devising a way of getting the gems on the Builder compound door without alerting the two Watchmen was a challenge. Those long sight lines were an interesting puzzle to overcome. Massive fan of your missions.

  15. I really like what I see so far. I don't have the best test scene but I really like the "patch" entities as just a few of these sprinkled around add a nice sense of life to even a simple natural scene. I like being able to switch between the wind variants, but the default low wind variant is rather subtle and the strong is quite, well, strong. Animations are probably a pain but I could see if there was an option in the middle using it. Seems like the meshes don't have the skin variants defined? You can find a bunch in the general skin browser but nothing limited to the model itself. The larger patches look great, especially at a distance, but they don't hold up as well close up. Part of that is a given with billboard alpha, but iirc in the original test map the large tufts have a sort of dense ground cover that pops in at a very low distance, but this kind of fleshes out the tufts when you're standing right in the middle of them, which I imagine as a sneaky thief you're likely to be. I don't really see an issue with performance, but I am not pushing as many of these entities as something like the original scene might. Really cool work and I think these will be an awesome addition!

  16. This I, also, often accidentally click "New Mission" when I really meant to click "Start this Mission". Thief's wording is "New Game", so maybe that's why I make the mistake often. How about changing "New Mission" wording to "Missions"?

  17. Sadly, it doesn't work in ortho views.

  18. Well I covered my valley map with grass and while LOD tries it's best, FPS drops from 250 fps to 50ish. Still not gonna compete with modern engines with grass everywhere.
