While I'm apathetic about STEAM, I'd like to say that HL2's envir simulation is better than any previous precedents. Warren Spector was shaken in his boots after E3-2k3, and he was right, it's that great. Nonetheless, doom3 is still a decent platform for . Heck it's a great platform for AvP too.
