  1. I could totally be playing it wrong! Maybe I'm supposed to cause mayhem, I don't know. I'll try that lol But I don't think it is, I don't have a lot of tools for that. In Dishonored, for example, I could see the mayhem option very clearly, with powers like the the rats and the noisy weapons I could use. But I'm not seeing how to do that here, and I die pretty quickly in combat too, I'm pretty sure they want me to stealth. OR, this is also a very likely scenario, there might be always an easy (stealthy) path you have to find besides the dangerous open areas. Sometimes I find tunnels and high platforms. But 'always' might be a strong word. Some objectives lie right at the center of a super crowded open area, with no other way around it.
  2. The trailer doesn't give much but I'm excited
  3. If they just got rid of the gunplay it would be an evolution already. And if the combat is seamless with the running they could have something good after all. But this is being overly optimistic.
  4. Well, I guess it's better for you then. I can't be like that, I care about games. To me games are more than a time waster, and it breaks my heart that it's still not taken seriously even by people making it.
  5. That would be nice. But I'm actually basing this on an interview made much earlier. The trailer is just confirming it.
  6. It could be fun, of course. We could also make a super fun first person shooter with the Thief franchise. But hey, as long as it's fun, right? I shouldn't be surprised, really. That's what they do. They follow trends and numbers. These are not game designers, these are managers of companies. Right now, Batman is all the rage so everyone wants to make their own Batman. Even Thief 4 tried to be Batman, he actually said "I am the night" at some point. And now Faith will go around flinging herself in an open world city fighting thugs in free flow combat. All she needs is a bat cowl. Could be fun. Who doesn't want more Batman? I'm not mad as a fan of the franchise who doesn't like change, I'm mad as a wannabe game designer. It pains me that their actions are not guided by artistic thinking but by business. They could be making a Indiana Jones and be remembered forever but instead they chose to make a King Solomon’s Mines. Which was a fun movie and all but, depending on your age, you might have to google that. Do you see my point?
  7. Watch this if you haven't already and try to spot the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsDX_LiJT7E Let us recapitulate a bit of history, shall we? Thief: The Dark Project was released in 1998 and was regarded as an amazing new take on stealth, very promising, lots of potential, but flawed. The campaign would shift its stealth focus throughout the campaign and that wasn't much fun. So they made Thief 2: The Metal Age, where they learned from their experience, T2 was a hardcore stealth experience from beginning to end and it became the pinnacle of the franchise to this day. Mirror`s Edge came out and it was regarded as an original, very promising game, lots of potential, but flawed. Combat seems misplaced and breaks the flow was the general criticism. So they made Mirror`s Edge 2 (catalyst) and put an emphasis on combat. Let me repeat that. THEY EMPHASIZED COMBAT. I can't, I just can't handle. The retardation is too strong for me.
  8. Bought it recently and I'm also slowly losing my interest in it. To me the biggest problem is the wide open spaces in the level design. I love that they made non linear and complex! games lack that these days. But stealth in wide open areas is just overwhelming. At any point there are 43862 guards around me, they are located everywhere around me. Every time I'm spotted I have no idea where the guy is. I sit in a corner that "seems" safe, although I have no way of knowing for certain, and try to analyze the situation. After a while I think I know where every potential guard in sight is accounted for so I make my move. Then a guy from an upper or lower level across the bridge behind me spots is alerted. Do I suck or is this made with trial and error in mind?

    Doom reboot

My reaction while watching this: "wow! this is such a co-"
  10. Have I shared this already? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMolEvB5EqA
  11. I still don't know what to make of this. It could work, I don't know. It does seem like people are acting more out of fear than anything else though.
  12. I just checked and, yes, it's 2.03. And it does sound like that bug.
  13. Figured out what happened! Here's how you reproduce it So there you go
  14. So far I'm loving this! but I ran unto a game breaking bug:
  15. I have this on my wishlist for a while. The voice action seems like a gimmick but when a gimmick doesn't harm the gameplay I have no problems with it. If it serves to give some immersion at least for the first few minutes it might even pay off. And with you guys praising the game this might climb a few steps in my shopping list.
  16. Totally understandable. You did a lot already! I would say you did more than I with the model and animations. Who'd know that was the easy part.
  17. That was excellent! good job authors. Here's some hopefully constructive criticism: So thanks for the mission I had a blast. Don't worry about the wall of text above, I only do that when I really like something.
  18. Just curious to know how this thing's going. Did you give up on it?
  19. Fellow taffers! a minute of your attention, please. Thank you for your attention. Yes, I'm bored.

Yeah, no, I can't wrap my head around parts of it either. You get too far into irony and it becomes a game of chicken.

      Everyone's learning right?

At the end of the day it's the mayonnaise in your sandals that counts. Just picture that during your morning breakfast.

I will carry this burden my entire life.

  20. Holy wow, you do look like him! Now I feel bad... lol But you are wearing the shades outside. That makes a world of difference.
  21. He still looks like a douche.
  22. The dumbest part about none of the endings being canon is that having multiple endings didn't even add anything to the previous game. It was all mashed up in the last second. So they gained nothing then and screwed the new game. The trailer looks cool and all, but I see no gameplay. That always bothers me. And what's with all the fighting? judging by the trailer alone, feels like I'm going to play a Batman game or something, I was almost seeing the blue icon on the enemy's head telling me to counter the attack. Here's hoping for a good game with no boss fights.
  23. I don't know if they are only on my end though. I have a new PC and it's acting weird on me on other situations. But here's what happens: I'm playing the game normally then the ambient sound disappears. At first I just shrug it off as a harmless bug and continue without the ambient sound. Everything else seems to be working though! but then I realize some actions are not working, like doors not opening, messages not triggering etc. Then all of a sudden all these things happen at the same time! as if they were in a queue that was blocked by something. The worst of all is that some important things are also in this queue, like saving the game. so if you try to save while in this state, the game will freeze for an indeterminate amount of time. Also, if you manage to get to a part where assets havent't been loaded (they're probably on the same queue) as soon as you get near them the game crashes completely. I described this situation in their support forums a week ago and haven't received a response ever since.
  24. Someone suggested alien isolation already, did you play it? The little I played it looked amazing but it has too many bugs on my end.
