  1. V-Man339, you're in luck. Mirceakitsune and my project going to merge. So if you want to "test" something, take a look at this post. (there is nothing to test, because i know the bugs. But your user opinions are always nice)
  2. I will make the panels smaller. Its possible to make all values cvars. But its not easy to change the bordercolor around, for example, the grid, because they are images. The borders of the cells inside the grid, is easy to do. Is there a mapper who could help us, with "porting" d3 maps like earlier mentioned "genetic" and "lost city" or other? I dont get any responses from Baal. -- I have been browsing trough the addons and mods for doom 3 on moddb. And found some interesting mods (and files) we can use for this project: mods: arx (standalone-mod. dark ages deus ex. interaction with stuff, Nice human models), into cerberon (for a quadcopter?), maps: endarchy, Guis: hexen edge of chaos, grimm, endarchy maps: skyscraper, Redwill Manor, trains mod for tdm: ruiner Movies: Are there any other d3 maps/mods i have to look at? --- @MirceaKitsune Here is a copy from license, with a permission of Bethesda to Arx. -edit- added links. added videos in spoiler.
  3. For all level editors, you need to have patience. Because there are lots stuff you can create (and needs that to learn) Making levels takes hours/days/months or even years. for new mappers, to speed it things up, there are video tutorials. and there is also a mission generator. (somewhere on this forum)
  4. We need another name because dark mod and dark machina are already in use by commercial products.
  5. Just a quick pic, to show you a test-skin of the mainmenu. (have to reposition things a bit,..)
  6. After so many years,...the crosshair is back! (have to calibrate a bit,...but the crosshair is back)
  7. No, the RPM and DEB packages do not install dependencies packages. (because i do not have the knowledge/experience to choose the needed packages) Help will be appreciated. So they have to install the needed packages manually. Point them to the manual "Howto install tdm on ubuntu linux 64 bit manually", and the posts afther that. where can i find the reddit post?
  8. And could somebody to that also for TDM? (deb/rpm) I cannot help you, greebo.
  9. Tuxemon was in luck, because there were people that want to create new things for it. (I want to create/remake things for something when its popular) But you and i are in early development and needs traction of people. (or you have do it your-self) I was sick of asking people to help me, so i started my own project. And i have seen in my experiment, if you can show something is working, people are willing to share their creations. I am happy to replace the things that i use, only if some can find/make a replacement. When you use my experiment, you (that avoiding na-licenses) have to find people who are willing to create new things for it and replace them. (at this moment i dont see any posts of other contributors in this topic) You can walk with me, to see where it ends (and you are in a running cyperpunk project). And you find other people who are willing to help with our ideas (creating new things and replace stuff). At this moment my FM is just an my experiment and its a (for now) one-man-project-with-object-contributors. Yes, Its a small portion i added to the fm, that that are the things i had envisioned it. I learned much of tdm development and it helps when i'm a allrounder with little experience of all the things that needed to make a fm. The map is just the trainings-map, standard included in TDM. I had to, because im not a mapper and could not find a small map to test things. (but cannot use genetics map, because its to dark) The weapons are from the rwm-packs. For more information and to follow the early developmentsteps i made, browse trough the my start-topic, from the projects openingspost. For example you as a people modeler, you can try to import xonotic models. (i dont know how to see your beast models in a scifi mod) how about creating (or changing) a model (like) of human enemies from blade-yautja. etc, etc I added a new version of my fm yesterday, where i disabled the blueisch overlay and added some more licences external (and in the pk4)
  10. Why do you see the CC-BY-NC-SA limiting, and feel that they ruin the openness? To me as an almost-nonartist at several fields, data-combiner and amateur, its "open" enough. (And "artists love to see their work in games, because we artists are not gamedevelopers" said the tdmis-logo creator personal to me.) To be open, its easy. Explained in https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/: If you use something, be noncommercial, mention the creators name in the credits(file) (and send them a postcard...) (for example: read them by running tdmis, clicking on the credits button in the mainmenu) And if you change something, just mention the authors name and place the file under the same license. I hope that ourproject/experiment not going to die off soon. I havent seen a project/experiment like this, coming from this forum or elsewhere. So please give it a change.
  11. First you have to agree to the tdm's CC-BY-NC-SA-license, because the defs/scripts/etc i use/changed for the dark mission, are under this license and others: https://svn.thedarkmod.com/publicsvn/darkmod_src/trunk/LICENSE.txt Only If you agree to this and other licenses and ready to follow, then you may upload it to git. (but in fm format, because its highly adviceable) If you look in the pk4 file and source files, you will find license proof files.
  12. I have to start somewhere, with my experiment: I picked up the FM-method (so i can ride the Fanilla TDM-developmentwave, for now). I picked Google drive, just to quick setup a project-environment. I use existing freely licensed/noncommercial assets, because i dont have the knowledge to create several things and didnt find people who are willing to help me. So i use these assets to start somewhere. But i dont know if i want to "commercially" branch out of tdm, like the creators of gunman chronicles did. To me, this is just-for-fun-but-serious noncommerial hobby-project. And we need games like tdm and this.
  13. It looks/plays fascinating too. It has the things you mentioned in the startpost and other posts in this topic. So lets use this for a start. if you want to start-with/do something, just help me with this project. For starters, download and run the dark mission file.
  14. Yes, got the permission from the author of that map, robert hodri to use this and map genetics.
  15. My project is small, after all. And its viable, because i use existing material. I only have to connect the dots. To me, TDM has tons high-quality missions. So, tdm can spare some creative people.
  16. MirceaKitsune, you can join/combine my experiment: The Dark mission. (Project startpost) Current Files for the public are on the project's google drive (public folder). (to install tdmis: download the zip file, create a folder in the fm folder named "darkmission", extract the pk4 to it. open tdm, install the mission) (for version 20170205,ignore the blue overlay)

    Bugs

The Music in the missions are sound files. You cannot easy adjust the volume of the music or stop it from playing. You have to edit them manually in the pk4 (zip) files. You can stop them by using a console-command from listsoundcmds.
  18. I hope TDM stays free in price and code, for the user. But the datahosters we need to pay them, maybe with add's on steam? (not on this site/forum) If you need someone to package tdm for Steam (windows/linux/mac), please let me know.
  19. I see them: (financial) problems. money will be send to only one person. What wil he do with this?? What wil the community do with the money. Etc.
  20. Experimenting a bit to to get the white gry-isch color post-effect from the x-files. I hope that a colored hud-overlay can create that too. (Testing the effect a blue color,..)

    Bugs

Just run the updater again, so it switches an other server. (Thats a "bug" of the updater) Did you run the tdm installer or only the tdm updater? Does the (quick)save options work? (Give write permissions to the darkmod folder, the installer will do this.) Just run the tdm-installer, point to the location where you "installed/manually unpacked/etc" tdm. (after this, running the updater inside the installer, is for you not necessary) Change in tdm, your screenresolution and graphics. (Maybe video driver update, too?)
  22. Just a quick status update: I found some great D3-mods to take inspiration/code/objects from. (like blade yauta and phantasm and d3 evolution) Trying to get modern weapons to work on my fm. (see screenshot) Changed the console background. (just for fun) Changed Menu background and font. Give the weapon/inventory a border.
  23. I know. and in this test stage, i would like to add this gun for test purposes and want to proceed. (so i can see which other objects are missing or have to be replaced) Or are there other modern guns i can use? (how about the guns from Phantasm?)
  24. With my little experience, i have seen those files in the pak file of the weapon. (and added missing objects from d3 to tdm, like the arm model by copying the d3 files.) I will try to compare the existing files with the crossbow ones. (but some help from somebody would be nice)
