  1. Its in the folder. Its easier to see, when you change the filedisplay. I checked the permissions, but here is an "almost" direct link. Thats not nessescary. You can do it yourself, because this testversion doesnt touch the original tdm folder and files. But getting new users are always fine.
  2. Posted a testversion of the next-generation tdm installer windows. If you want to test it, get it from http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18290-feature-requests-for-tdm-installer-windows-20/?p=394973

  3. I have some days ago i updated a new version of the tdminstaller v2 (v20160925). It would be nice if someone has the time to test this version. I would like that people test fullscreen backgrounds, the hardware detection, the start of the updater and the installer-background switches. To do this do the following things. Download TDMinstaller-win-v2-bin-(versionnumber).zip from my google drive.unpack it and start it. check if the installer starts and if you see the tdm background. from the startscreen hit the buttons next and i agree. Then the "minimum hardware detection" screen appears. hit next-button and the hardware detection will start immediately. The info screen should appear in some miniseconds. (if it takes longer and/or the installer chrashes, please post your system specs). Check and compare your systemspecs with the detected one. Copy the text inside the detection info cell and post this in this topic (hint: use alt-tab).hit the next-button > next.you may change the install location, if you like. if you agree with the location, hit the install-button.Then the installer creates the folder, unpack the updater to it and starts it up. Check if the updater start and that the backgroundimage and -text switches. in the updater, hit the cancel button, are you sure > yes. The updater closes. Check if the installer appears again. then wait a few seconds until the installer progessbar is full, hit the next-button.hit the finisch button, remove the installed folder (selected at step 7 and created at step 8)TDMinstaller-win-v2-bin-20160925 places temporary installation files in de root of the c-disk. Some .bmp's and ico's. Remove these files please post your findings.
  4. yesterday i noticed music creation app "LMMS". Creating music was for me never so easy. Lookout Tiesto, here i come.

If it's easy as GIMP, i'll be impressed. I have never had luck with music creation learning curves.

This year I've been playing with the "practice at least 1 hour a day" app, and I've noticed my ability to create music has never been better! ;)

I downloaded LMMS about a year ago in order to practice music making. I was thinking of making custom music for my FMS. The program is really easy to use, but sadly I have zero talent for music making.

  5. to keep it a "realistic" game, i think all the attack methods must be allowed. i love to discover things, so keep the x-loot. (because as a thief, you need to pay the rent.) but it doesnt have to be a priority. A time-limit can be nice, only to thighten the security, when the time is ended or beeing discovered.
  6. Welcome. If you want to help us out, check subforum "i want to help". For more info, read the sticky: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/13648-how-can-i-help/
  7. Publisched new versions of the tdmlauncher. Adnd added sourcecode of the standardversion..

  8. Because I dont have much control over the navigation buttons, added a activation-button in the "form section" of the launcher-lite (v20160929). (see topicstart for the updated screenshot) Added publisched sourcecode to my github-repository. For the standard version (v20160911), I added some options for Image processing. (see topicstart for the updated screenshot) for now, added tabpage "missions" with an field where the use can see which mission is "installed". For me its difficult to create parse-code that analyses the missions.tdminfo, in the current format. It would be easier that the tdm-developers change the format in a better-readable format, like xml. And publisched the sourcecode on my google drive, for the ones who like to help.
  9. The one you tested earlier, and where i added an howto install file. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/16226-graphical-installers-for-tdm/?do=findComment&comment=393558 It uses a more recent version of wine, i hope it performs better.
  10. dont know. But you can test this using a live-cd/usb. In theory, you get the same poor performance. then is the sollution to run tdm natively under linux on your mac. you dont want that as a mac user. for now, if the mac user want play tdm, he has to dualboot or use wine. (how is the performance of tdm in the new wineskin-container?)
  11. Thats a handy tool for games. What are the differences, when binding screenres-consolecommands to a key in darkmod.cfg? Or adding a deskopshortcut with screenres-arguments? Binding screenrescommands in darkmod.cfg: Add the following line to the darkmod.cfg bind "F11" "exec windowedmode.cfg" create a file named "windowedmode.cfg" and in that file place the following lines set r_fullscreen 0 set r_customheight 600 set r_customwitdh 800 vid_restart Then hit the "F11"-key to load tdm in windowed-mode. (takes a while, to refresh the game) Or using a desktop shortcut, for example: thedarkmod.exe +r_mode +r_fullscreen 0 +r_cutstomheight 800 +r_customwitdh 600" (For beginners: use tdmlauncher to add application arguments:http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18310-the-dark-mod-launcher )
  12. I added the tdmlauncher-lite and a howto-install file to the tdm mac dmg and uploaded to the google drive.
  13. There is no difference between these buttons, because both buttons closes TDM-launcher-Lite. TDM Launcher lite is a script made by using the engine of NSIS, and i dont have any control over the labels of the navigation buttons below. (cant remove them either, because my knowledge of NSIS is short) For the standard-version using C#, i got the total control over the buttons and a bit more experienced. -edit- I added a screenshot of the standard version to the startpost. And uploaded a w.i.p-version of the standard version to my google drive.
  14. I'm working on a new project: The Dark Mod Launcher. Its an application launcher for users/beginners who have difficulties to, run TDM (using start-arguments) and solving TDM operatingsystem errors. First it was made for the new tdm-installer mac, as a launcher to run TDM and the updater inside one application-container. But now i want to expand it, to do more things. Tdm launcher will come in two versions: Lite version: run TDM and TDM-updater.run TDM and TDM-updater with commandline arguments.Normal version - More advanced version run TDM and TDM-updater.run TDM and TDM-updater with commandline arguments.Ideas: screen resolution tester, application logger, Mission remover (outside TDM), etc.Download the work-in-progress-version of the lite or standard version from my google drive and extract the executable in your tdm-folder. Sourcecode of these versions will be publisched on my github repo and google drive) This launcher is inspired by darkloader, thief 4 setup and tdminstaller-win. Are other things you want to add to this launcher?
  15. Yes, New mac users dont have to install POM (or other applications) to run this new TDM-app. You can test this by removing POM (and the shortcuts / containers you created with it). But POM is a easy method for new users to run windows applications. Yes, for new users this is an easy method to install TDM, because is the standard method for them to install applications (without using the app store). The gamefiles that the tdm updater downloads, will be stored inside the tdm-app. To show this content, command-click (or right-click) on the tdm-app > show contents > in the new window > drive_c > games > darkmod.
  16. My apologies, I didn't tested the app inside the application folder. Move this app to your home-folder, run it again, check if the launcher runs, run the updater and then run tdm. (at the first time it load, it takes some seconds to initialize and run the launcher) This fix solves the problem on my system. (Maybe a write permissions error? i going to check this) From the launcher you need first to start the updater to download the game files. Every application in your applications folder, is a special folder with execution-permissions. The gamefiles that the updater downloads will be saved in the tdm folder, inside the ap. (for now, when using the fix above) in "/home/users/yourusername/thedarkmod.app/drive_c/games/darkmod/". Wine-skin is a alternative for POM. POM is an entire suite, that creates wine-containers using scripts. This new tdm app is a .app-folder containing only the wine-container (with the tdm updater) and wine-skin files. The user dont have to download other applications (like POM) anymore, because all needed files are inside this .app-folder. It is not possible to create an wine-skin app for tdm-updater app, that download its files to the tdm app. It is also not possible, to get a selection menu, when the user launch the app. (the user has to that mannualy, using the configapp inside this folder) So i created the tdm launcher, to give the user the choice which application he/she want to run. I changed the author-file, repackaged the dmg-file and uploaded it.
  17. Uploaded a "almost native" TDM for the mac! for more info check Graphical installers for tdm-topic.

  18. Just want to mention a test-version of TDM-installer Mac (v20160825). (get it from my portfolio) And introducing the TDM Launcher. An application that can start tdm and its updater from a menu. (so i can create one single app-container for it) I would like to hear your comments. === Installation TDM: Download and unpack the zip, mount the dmg-file, drag Thedarkmod to your applications home folder and close the folder.umount the tdm image, remove the tdm image and zip fileRun the application from your applications home folder. The TDM Launcher will open, select the dark mod updater and hit "close". (I need to change the label of that button)Download the tdm-files with the tdm-updater.close the updaterendRunning TDM: Go to your applications home folderrun thedarkmod.appselect in the tdm launcher "The dark mod" and hit close.Wait for TDM to start.endUpdate TDM Run the application from your applications home folder. The TDM Launcher will open, select the dark mod updater and hit "close". (I need to change the label of that button)Update the files using the updater.close the updaterendDelete tdm: Move the dark mod app to your trashbin.and empty your trashbinendSome mentions: This is a work-in-progress (early alpha) testversion.Tested with Mac os Mavericks (10.9.5) - intel.TDM app is not a native mac application, It uses wineskin (a wine-wrapper) to run the application. Its a big appication file (221 mb), because it contains everything you need to run tdm and its updater on Mac os. But you have to download the gamefiles using the included tdm-updater. (dmg file is around 50 mb).Created with Wineskin Winery 1.7, NSIS and Apple's diskutility.
  19. You can change the gamma and brightness in TDM. Better to create two separate application shortcuts to TDM, one for the daylight and the other for in the night. and add session-arguments for brightness and gamma to it. For example: Start tdm, go to the screen settings and change gamma and brightness that you want to set for the night. shutdown tdm, open file darkmod.cfg and look & note the values for "seta r_brightness and "seta r_gamma" repeat these steps 1 to 3, for daytime. Create a shortcut to darkmod.exe, for the night, right click on it > settings > tab shortcut. In the target field, add arguments "+r_brightness" and "r_gamma" with the values you desire and save the shortcut. for example: "c:\games\thedarkmod.exe" +r_brightness 1.071429 +r_gamma 1.333333 repeat 5 - 7 for the daytime. And my advice is not to play games, before you go to sleep.
  20. At the moment I'm working on the second "stable" version for the TDM Installer - Windows. I would like to hear from you the features you want to see in this version and your comments. You can download always the latest version (TDMinstaller-win-v2-"version") from my google drive. For now I working on the following features: a function to run the TDM Updater "inside" the installer.a fullscreen background slideshow for displaying user tips, during the TDM updater.an advisable minimum system requirements checker (trying to follow Doom 3 bfg and tdm's Known System Configurations)startmenu shortcuts for debugging beginners issues. (like shortcuts for a safemode, Reset to default settings and logcreation) (using temporary session settings, instead of saved settings. for example: instead of running tdm with argument "+seta something 1", i will be using "+something 1") Added screenshots: First screen, with background Systemcheck attempt. Updater "inside" tdminstaller and slideshow.
  21. found a very old version of tdminstaller i made in 2010. Donated the sourcecode that year to tdm team. But i never got a reaction back :(

  22. The installer (for windows) doesnt guarantee that TDM works on users system, but it solves some important problems users can get. It doesnt do system requirements checks and TDM 's standard settings changes. (but should I include this?)
  23. And is uploaded to moddb. My thanks to all for helping. And if you see any install errors, please let me know.
