  1. We're still translating TDM on Russian and it goes pretty well. Too bad there are only two people who work on it.

It's a shame the russian translations (and other translations in general) are not just folded into the missions - looking at the FM directory, only a handful of FMs seem to be in I18N state :(

I too prefer getting work done over bla :)

  3. It's cold, it's wet and grey everywhere, no snow is lying around. What a terrible winter :(

  4. I was at the Mosel river in Cochem over the weekend. We visited the castle "Reichsburg Cochem" over there. It's an amazing place. Maybe I'll upload some picture of it in a few days. But here is an impression: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZfG-vjiisVY/U0eNWZ5FoAI/AAAAAAAAasQ/ypVi2QVutiY/s1600/reichsburg-cochem-germany-26115-1680x1050.jpg

  5. How to hard-lock a Linux box: step 1. Insert a scratched or dirty CD. Step 2, try to advance through songs. We have made 0 progress since the early 90s. Even the mouse pointer stops moving and you can't switch to a console!

  6. I can't believe it's taking 8 minutes to download just the screenshots of Briarwood Cathedral, only 2.3 MB. Forget about the FM itself! Wifi in developing countries like Burma has a long way to go... =L

The screenshots shoulnd't be that big tho, they are displayed quite lowres in the menu, anyway. Anyone for slimming them down?

  7. Now that I'm tinkering with render code, the cost of MS compilers is really hitting home. :( Time to get Linux back on my PC...

I wouldn't count on it, precompiled headers have been broken on Linux for years, so GCC will always compile the entire source tree new, which takes nearly 20min on my old dual-core...

  9. I went for an eye test yesterday as the vision on my right eye has considerably deteriorated over the last few weeks. Apparently I don't need glasses but they acknowledged that there's something wrong with my right eye so they referred me to an eye hospital? Is this a good thing or not?

    1. Tels

      Tels

And please put some pressure on the eye clinic (or chose a different) to get an appointment, this could be something harmless or serious, but it is nothing you want to have a any longer if it is serious!

  14. Just sat through 90 minutes of hearing about every guard that a friend's 8 year old son has managed to KO in TDM since I last saw him 3 weeks ago. His mum is taking a firm line: "you got him in to this, you can listen to it!"

  15. Ever have a show that you enjoyed listening to turn into nothing but constant advertising? Yeah, people have to cover their costs but when the first ten minutes is spent trying to sell you stuff, you reconsider listening in the future.

Huh, I'm not sure what this entire "commenting" thing here is - how does it work? o-O

Anyway, "what we spoke about"? Could you please be more specific? Maybe sent it via email or via PM here again? *confused a bit*

As for "posting in other threads", I don't actually want to browse all "new content" - it took an hour yesterday to find 2 or 3 things I might possibe bring something useful, but in most cases somebody asked a question,...

  19. Will the apologists now see what is wrong? What with this latest ugly, (wrong... wrong... WRONG) blogging ("Looking Back..." ) from EM's chosen voice, GI? http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2013/03/18/looking-back-at-one-of-the-series-that-defined-the-stealth-genre.aspx ...

The article about Thief I, II and gold is very good, couldn't see anything wrong with it. However, there is not a single mentioning of TDM :(

  21. I dont understand the Loot division in DR's entity list. Static and Moveable? Well technically they'ra all moveable as you can pick them up while similtaniously they're all static as you cannot move them because when you frob them they go straight into your inventory. So why two seperate folders?

IMO small items like rings should be static (if you knock them off accidentily, you never find them again because they are so small), but for large items, moveable makes sense as the player can affect them with physics (shoot vase from window sill because he cannot reach it). Heh, we used that in Saint Lucia, remember? :)

Unfortunately, this EMI-music-content is not available in Germany because GEMA has not granted the respective music publishing rights.
