  1. What do you mean by that? It's the same game with some minimal (but very nice) functionality added.
  2. Weight, no preference. Screen size, something around 15" would be good. @Biker, I'll PM you specs on a machine I found on Craiglist. All these specifics aside, I'd still be interested in knowing if there are any established System Reqs for TDM. And what missions are considered to most resource intensive.
  3. States, yes. I use all the standard places, Amazon, Newegg, etc.
  4. You were helping me look a year or two ago, but I didn't end up buying anything. My budget for something like this is $200-250, so really used is the only option. I've searching Craigslist here locally, and have found a few models that look OK, I'd say most are 3-4 years old. Is an AMD cpu OK? What should I be looking for for RAM and graphics?
  5. Hey all - I've been thinking about picking up a used laptop to play some TDM and Thief fan missions (plus maybe a few others) on the road. Nothing fancy, just wanted to buy enough horsepower to play these games, hoping I can pick up something for a couple of hundred bucks. I've searched the TDM site, but I haven't found anything in regards to system/minimum/recommended reqs. Is there anything official? I'd like to play most TDM missions with a decent, smooth frame rate if possible, but I don't need everything maxed out or anything like that. For Thief FMs, I'm kind of going with the reqs for Keeper of Infinity, which seems to be the most demanding FM there is currently. Is there a TDM mission that is considered the same, one that pushes TDM to its limits? KoI recommends an i5 with 8 gigs of RAM. I have to study discreet laptop video cards, but KoI also reccos a GTX 660 for desktops, not sure what that equates to for laptops. Thanks for any help on this...
  6. Only reason I mentioned it is because I think you'd get a far better response posting in the main TDM forum. This forum is usually about other games, so you're likely to miss some of the regulars who don't care about that kind of stuff. For the record, my brightness/gamma are both about 0.9.
  7. Why would this be in Off Topic? Seems very on topic to me.
  8. Looks like DrK and skacky were having some fun with everyone: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146256
  9. I must be in the minority, but I upgraded to Win 10, and have had no issues at all. I basically took it because it was being offered for free, and I figured I wouldn't have to upgrade again for a long time. My PC is pretty much used exclusively for gaming and surfing the web, so that may factor in. Anyway, it's already got 200 million users, so I don't think it's going anywhere.
  10. Always wanted to play these games, but never got around to it. I thought I had heard there was a stealth element to them - any truth to that?
  11. Just getting started on this (congrats on the release, btw), but I noticed not too far into the mission, there's a building marked "For Sale" and you can walk right through it from the north side.
  12. OK, but he did put out contest missions in 2012 and 2013.
  13. Why is it surprising though?
  14. FYI, if anyone is interested, I'm hosting a Dromed Speed build contest, starting today: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145961
  15. Was there a rumor that I had passed? Not sure why, I post a couple of times every month. Yes, BG&E is a classic. I haven't played it in several years though, so it might be time to fire it up agian. @Moonbo - how is the single player portion of Clandestine? I know it's primarily co-op, but I'm kind of loner when it comes to gaming.
  16. I was pimping this game over on TTLG, and I'll do the same here. This is the most fun I've had with any game this year, I think. Great open world, rooftop running, cool day/night cycle, and the melee combat is a blast. A lot of content too, over 100 side missions. Fun crafting. There's a large expansion coming out soon too, which moves the gameplay out into the countryside, with dune buggies. While there doesn't seem to be any stealth systems per se, you can definitely play more of a pacifist role, and use the rooftops and parkour systems to get around without confronting any zombies. A challenge for sure, but it's possible. You can also use traps and the environment to fend off the bad guys. Great game, wish I had discovered it sooner.
  17. Hah, I was trying to figure out why so many of my Steam friends were suddenly buying the GOTY edition of Deus Ex. Makes sense, for $1.39 I think I'll pick it up too.
  18. Finally, Neon Struct on sale. Also, Beyond Good & Evil for $2.50.
  19. Where do you guys buy your digital music? I've always bought CDs or found "other" ways to grab my favorite songs. But now I'm looking for a place with good pricing and selection where I can buy new stuff digitally. DRM free of course.
  20. Btw, what is a "Cheeky Git?" I've heard the phrase before, but I have no idea what it means. Google wasn't much help.
  21. @Summer - also remember with Steam's new return policy, you can always try out the game and then if it's too scary for you, return it. Just don't play it for more than 2 hours if you want a refund.
  22. Yes, I did mean Outlast, the game that was released just a couple of years ago. http://store.steampowered.com/app/238320
  23. Big Myst fan here, very psyched for Obduction. I read somewhere recently that they're including FMV sequences in Obduction, which is kinda cool, in an old school Myst/Riven kind of way. And Robyn Miller is apparently playing one of the 3 main characters in the game. I've always wanted to recreate the worlds/ages of Myst & Riven for Thief, but alas, it's a lot of work. I'm guessing some of the puzzles and mechanisms would be almost impossible to recreate. FYI, if you go onto Amazon, you can get Myst 3 & 4 used pretty cheap, less than $10 each. But yeah, it'd be nice to buy them in digital form if you could.
