  1. Awesome! How can one become thy padawan ?
  2. Hmm, yeah. This was just a quick yesterday night's doodle. I will do a full scene concept later.
  3. I'm thinking about doing something with sewers right now
  4. I think a pagan (based on Springheel's concept) fits better in that kind of environment. And here's your 1680x1050. Enjoy! Good idea. Maybe I should create an artwork that is more easily doable in DM and then some of you guys can create a location based on it. I'm thinking about doing something with sewers right now
  5. I wonder how the wallpapers should look like. Modified screenshots ? T2-like dark or TDS sketchy style ? Presenting atmosphere, architecture, props and AI in an artistic or photorealistic way ? Ideas ?
  6. A bunch of quick concepts:
  7. Or a promo artwork, DM could use a few wallpapers. This particular piece isn't exactly saying much about DM though...
  8. A little inspirational piece...
  9. At least he would have lots of "fun" trying to find whether he's in or not
  10. Or at least a bicycle... After a long break finally finished the game today. I liked the endings and enjoyed every (sometimes bittersweet) second of the game. For me this is definitely one of those few unforgettable games that stay with you long after you've finished them. So far my game of the year - at least until Bioshock arrives...
  11. You've got it wrong. You don't need 2 gb of physical ram to run the game, that error dialog meant pagefile (= virtual memory). I've no idea if it needs to be on that specific drive stalker is installed and if it is counted as ram + virtual memory > 2 gb, but that would be my guess. My pagefile size is 512 mb on drive E: (and over 2,5 gb if all drives are counted together) and I have 1,5 gb of ram. The game works fine.
  12. Haha. Now 1234 would be WAY too obvious, everyone tries that first.
  13. A registered domain ? That means absolutely nothing. Anyone can register that. Besides - creation date: 10-oct-2000.
  14. First impressions, after 1 hour of playing: Running great on medium settings, on Athlon 2500+, 1.5 gb ram, nvidia 7600gt. The visuals are still good, although it's nothing jawdropping. Great atmosphere. Weather and night/day cycle, constant fear, anomalies, sounds, random events etc., it all makes the game stand out. It's tough, you can die easily, an angry boar or a few pistol shots and it's over. It's really more of a survival game than the classic "run around and shoot around like crazy" FPS style. Controls and interface are a bit clunky, it takes time to get used to it. The game's a bit buggy, but nothing game breaking so far, except one thing: when it starts to rain, the screen is full of blinking semi-transparent polygons. Might be a problem on my side though, I should update to latest drivers.
  15. Just read the news posts here. Of course those reviews are from "exclusive" paper mag reviews, so they may be a bit biased. I'd probably wait a day or two for some proper ones. Also there's the Eurogamer review.
  16. The story of STALKER may be stupid and according to reviews it IS rather lame. I'd really recommend to read the book (Roadside picnic) it's based on though. You'll get a brand new perspective on the game.
  17. So we have absolutely nothing to do with global warming ? The fact that Earth was getting increasingly warmer in the last 100 years is just a coincidence ? I'm SO relieved. Now we can poison that stupid planet even more !
  18. Discuss! Or don't! Not that it matters anyway!
  19. I don't think Macsen is right. He never is, really.
  20. I can't really imagine that 100% hand made textures could be better than photographed ones, combining them should work nicely though. I might give the skyboxes a shot, planned to do some distant city art anyway.
  21. Is there a list of what concepts or other art has yet to be done ? Or any special requests ?
