  1. I can do low poly stuff up to about 10,000 polys, but I'm pretty tied up in other stuff right now to have the time to help out. Besides, I'm limited to anim8or, so I'm not much help here anyway. I plan on learning blender when I get done with my other major projects.
  2. I agree. That's professional quality work. Half done or not. I'd like to see oDDity do Thief 3 work if we ever get an editor for it.
  3. I airbrushed a quick texture and it actually wrapped around the AI very well. With some tweqing here and there I should be able to make a final texture and import him into Thief tommorow.
  4. Wow, it's amazing how you can concentrate so hard on something and you don't notice things like that until someone tells you! Thanks!
  5. I think I'm just about ready to texture it now.
  6. Yes. I don't really have the skillz to make any high-poly stuff yet, this is something for Thief II.
  7. Moved the waist up. Defined the torso more. The sharp angles in the arms are caused by the lack of polys. The arms are actually round but the cylinder I used was 5 sided, thus the square look. There's not much way around it, I'm already at 725 faces and multiply that by 2 when it gets imported to Thief, it's already a very high-poly model for the Dark Engine. But I did tighten them up and make them look better than they did.
  8. How's this? I made him taller, and thickened the arms.
  9. I'm trying to get my hands on 3ds max, but in the meantime I'm doing Anim8or stuff for Thief II. I don't know much about doing high-poly stuff, but I hope I can learn so I can do stuff for Doom 3 and other games in the future. This is a WIP of the first AI I'm doing for my current Thief II project. I've done AI before but nothing this detailed. As it stands in this picture there are 684 faces. I'll have to keep it low, the goal is under a thousand, or else Thief II will have serious issues. My concept sketch is there too, for the full size concept sketch click here. What do you guys think about the proportions? Sometimes I have to back away from my monitor to tell whether or not he's realistic looking.
  10. Can I get an action figure for my desk? Great work!
  11. Waverly is supposedly the second most haunted place in the US, next to Gettysburg, but I'll be damned. I didn't see anything at all. Yeah, it's a scary place, 5 stories tall, 100,000 square feet, 68,000 deaths, but I'm not so sure it's haunted. I donated a hundred bucks to the restoration so that I could spend the night in there. I have no stories to tell, the only thing I left with was pictures...

    3ds Max

Did you guys really spend 3 grand for the commercial licensed version? I don't even have the money to get it for a thousand off of EBAY!!! Is there a non-commercial alternative? Where should I buy 3ds Max?
  14. I spent the night in an abandoned sanitarium this past weekend and took plenty of pictures. Here's some low res samples of some stuff I got on digital, I also took some with 800 speed film but haven't developed them yet. wv6 wv5 wv4 wv3 wv2 wv1 I can upload high res versions if you guys want to use them.
  15. Excellent. He has a much better 'master thief' look than Garrett does. His overall appearance greatly depicts the image 'I'm here to loot the place, don't get in my way'. Awesome work, Eric!
