There's a lot of great gothic architecture here in Gdansk, its old part is very thief-looking. And when I bought a camera I thought that I could help with the mod instead of just waiting 2 years for the release.

I made a door texture from one of the pics I showed you. Here are screenshots:

http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/8948/doordx5.jpg
I added files to textures\darkmod\door\wood\board_oblique_nails_hinge, images are 512 x 1024 for diffuse and local and 128 x 256 for specular.

Thanks

Version without screws was added to metal/detailed/rusty_diamond_pattern. Thank you for help Angua
Maybe you already know that stuff?I uploaded one texture before.
I also added a specular map for fittings_diamond_shaped. Here's a screenshot:

I think it looks better now.

Have you read the texture guidelines on the wiki?
You mean the naming part? I have a problem with those names. It's my english. I prefer to ask.
Angua, isn't rusty_diamond_pattern_screws too long?
-
Any suggestions? Which version is better and how should I name it? How about rusty diamond shapped? If you like it I will add it right away.
-
I've made another metal texture:

Version with screws:

I corrected panel_old_ornaments_local file. It was shifted comparing to the diffuse map so everything was blurred a little. Stupid mistake, don't know why I didn't notice that before. This panel texture needs more work.
-
The Compressonator gives the upper case suffix. I noticed the difference, but I didn't think it's important. I just don't think the informatics way
-
I added the files. Maybe someone could check if everything is working?
-
Thanks, I'm glad you like it What do I need to do to upload them? As far as I am concerned I will need a new password to access the server.
-
OK, here's the greyish version:
-
They're 1024 x 1024. I could change the colour between the bars. I think the rust on them looks quite good.

Something metal:

This one doesn't look like dungeons, more like a factory or other industrial building. Actually it looks more like Doom rather than Thief I'm waiting for your opinions.

Thanks NH! I am browsing team's forum now
-
Well, team member sounds good I'd like to make some more textures for sure, so I think you can sign me in.

Ok, here are screens of a metal texture:

If you want, you may send me those hinges Springheel.

Actually, if you're interested I have a batch of interesting hinges I've been meaning to turn into textures, I just haven't had time.
I could give a try. I havent used a transparency in D3 yet, though. I mean, how does it work? Can you put a texture on top of another?
-
That's a little more work to do with the door photos then. Anyway, I'll see what I can do.
-
We actually have a system set up where the door, lock and hinges are all separate images that can be mixed and matched for greater variety.
You mean, these: http://www.wgraj.net/img.php?mode=full&file=2628 are separate textures? If so, I must say I didn't expect that
-
Are locks and handles separate models? For a start I could remove those from photographs. For door models (or openable brushes) only one wing from a photo would be needed, I guess.
-
I have a Canon eos 350d camera, pictures are 8 mpix big (3456 x 2304), so doors alone should be at least 2000 pixels high.
-
Great!
That door would be great. What also would be VERY usefull is, if you could make a trim texture out of these metal stripes on that door in different variations and colours. You said that there are metal textures needed, so I thought I could chop the metal door into pieces. But now that you mentioned doors... I was going to ask if there are any needed. Because if you need textures for models or for unopenable doors to put on a wall like in Thief 1 and 2, I could provide some nice pictures. These are the best three I have right now:
http://www.wgraj.net/img.php?mode=full&file=2623 - you can see it on one of my screenshots
http://www.wgraj.net/img.php?mode=full&file=2624
http://www.wgraj.net/img.php?mode=full&file=2625
Pics are of course scaled down.

I was thinking of using this picture to make a texture: http://www.wgraj.net/img.php?mode=full&file=2572
