...and we are back! Thank Cog! Thanks for fixing, who ever did it!

*Close DR* No mapping tonight. Tonight, I'll be playing! So many cool sounding new missions, what to choose.... Only a grayman mission will suffice.

I suppose that could be next. "Home again" was fantastic, but after 2 hrs of careful sneaking my head is spinning. Focusing so hard for two hours straight is quite an exertion.
-
Played it. Really good one.
-
Thanks I'm well into building Part 2 now so hopefully that will be just as engaging
-
*grumble* gonna walk up those stairs and say you sir give me my resignation...*grumble*

When written in Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters.
One represents danger, and the other represents opportunity.

Here is to a great new job!

Belated good luck in a new job!

19 year old student invented how to clear the ocean-wide plastic garbage patches... Which was nice! I hope it works! http://www.theoceancleanup.com/

As a plastic bag I find this deeply offensive.

lol

I hope this works.

Aggregated betatester comments into a single file for easy management. 13 pages and 2500 words. *Gulp* This might take a while....

Best plan there? Boil large descriptions down to single sentences. You'll feel better with a smaller object list.
-
Ah, whoops.
-
Had a more detailed look and luckily most of the stuff is minor they require no action. Just need time to implement and I get this out of my hands.

All law abiding citizens in the world should read about Cognitive Dissonance. It helps to understand a lot of things.

Authorities have nothing to gain from training people to think for themselves. A population bereft of critical thinking abilities is much easier to control.
-
Also true. But if the pressure is strong enough, than influential people can surely tip the balance on the other side. Simply because the masses tend to be like a herd and will follow each other.
-
There are exceptions. And I hope I'm wrong.

Attention, all zombies in the Glenham area: riverdancing is a Class C infringement and is strictly prohibited. Any undead performing unsanctioned riverdancing will be placed in a holy water bath. You have been warned!

Oh, let them dance, it´s (has been) Christmas!

You can't judge yourself by other peoples standards. We all have our very own unique road that we've taken with our own personal obstacles that we've had to overcome. Judging other people by our own circumstances leads to either arrogance or a lack of self worth.
-
It's not about judging yourself. It's about what kind of life you expect you should have. If everyone around you has tons of money and you don't, you're less likely to be happy than if everyone around you is dirt poor and so are you.
-
I think many people are in some bipolar sadomasochistic state of mind. They have to either be better or worse than you, and will try to find even a smallest thing that makes you inferior to them. People also tend to have friend-or-foe system in head and will not tolerate if you "just" pass them by in life.
-
Attention! Tomorrow could very well be the day when you first realize you are not getting any younger. Thank you for considering this possibility.

'Tomorrow' has turned out to be the most miserable day of the last three months. Thanks for the early warning!
-
Free beer tomorrow.

On the other hand...
The transient nature of everything is actually quite comforting.

Back to basics: I've been playing Hitman: Codename 47 again. They don't make 'em like they used to. I love the brutal difficulty and no saves. It really makes me do whatever it takes to get the job done with minimal risk.
- Show previous comments 2 more
-
I can beat it in under 5 hours.
-
Yes, it is very easy once you know the missions. AH, hitman 1 does not penalize at all killing every single enemy combatant, so you could make stuff really easy for yourself. Just discreetly clear the area you want to operate in and so forth.
-
I tried to play the second one a while ago, and I couldn't get into it. I wanted to play stealthy and it wasn't fun at all this way.
-
Been watching Unity tutorials during my last few units of spare time. Looks really simple after TDM map editing and authoring. I wonder where this line of inquiry will take me?
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
That said, I'd love to make a Unity game myself. The plus side is it'd be nice to make one game that is all mine to its core.
-
@dema, yes exactly. That's the main appeal. Even if the product will be crappy, at least it is mine. I always wanted to make an own game.
@Steve, no worries. U2 is under production and is likely to be finished before the end of next year.
-
I'm the official Unity fanboy here, and I say COME TO THE DARK SIDE!

Took a soft hit to the chest in a friendly sparring session. Sport and exercise is dangerous business, I see...
-
Haha, that used to happen to me all the time. Miss doing muay thai though.
-
Feel better, Sotha .

Congrats on the release! Thanks to the team, once again, for their great efforts! Now, where do I get a babysitter so I can try this beast out without interruptions...?

Buy the kid some lego and teach him your modular building technique!

Make sure your kids are safely locked up in the car, with the windows wound up.

That last one is sisnister.

Cool! Fixed my WIP yesterday: now I can release it before v1.08! Phrase Book, coming out when it is ready...

I don't know how to do it, so Biker, if you could, I would be ever so grateful! Thanks!

Done.

Thanks man!

Dammit. Didn't remember selecting ambient musics was so big and difficult task.
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
I got it from this guy: http://www.youtube.com/user/alacazam
-
Ambient track placement has always been one of your strongpoints Sotha. "The Transaction" is still one of, if not the best sounding TDM missions.
-
I think that sometimes the best ambient tracks are the ones you dont notice. Their job is to enhance the immersion and not necissarily stand out.

Damn! The brits leave EU? What next, the US chooses Trump for president? Looks like 2016 is the year when the western countries shoot themselves in the leg. Big time. Let's hope the public servants can mitigate the damage. Surely they have a plan B in their sleeves. Things usually work out in the end, somehow.

-
the EU is a dictatorship. They create laws you can not object to, you have to except without question.
-
The European Union was a dream given form. Its goal, to prevent another war by creating a place where humans could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call - home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Several countries situated on many billion tons of earth, all alone in the night.
-
I looked it up the EU is based on the Russian model that created the USSR minus the communism. So the goal is for all member states to cease to become countries and just be member states. Which would mean one national football team, one Olympic team, one seat on the UN.
-
Dived in my Ulysses WIP after a longish break. Damn! After a break everything looked so much better than I remembered. Modular, of course, but not as fancy as Springheel's modules. The map state: basic geometry 100%, detailing 50%, Entitywork & objectives: 5%. The plot is fully fleshed out in my mind. I wish I had more free time....

-
What?? If I do this with my works, it all looks crappy to me and I want to erase everything and start over again xD
-
Speaking of time, for me it's hard to schedule creative work, because I do it best when time is open ended and I experiment with ideas (possibly false leads I have to go back on later), and that's hard to schedule.
-
I usually get an idea. Then I mature it in my mind. Once the idea has grown mature enough, I start planning it in detail and start implementing it. Along the way, the mapping and idea development go hand-in-hand. But when something is concretely made, it stays. If it exist only as an idea, it can be altered. It is a good way to get stuff done. Constantly move forward, don't go back to change things.

First vacation for two years! Yay!

I didn't go on vacation in the years I was a grad student. It was okay for a while, but it ended with a hell of a burnout after I got my PhD.
So take care and take some time off.
-
Enjoy!
-
So where you off-to then Sotha? make sure to take pics and maybe find some cool buildings.

Gah! My new graphics card came with a coupon that gives a free game. Of course it has to be redeemed, right. The requirement to get the game was to use shop.ubi.com and install something called Uplay. Yugh. What a piece of shit. I feel dirty and filthy.
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
Uplay is the worst experience someone can have at the moment when it comes to game distribution programs. If GFWL was still around though, it would be the 2nd worst really.
-
Gather round boys and girls and I'll tell you of a time when hardware came with games on a disk, in the box! It was so amazing because you were able to start playing in <5 minutes! Sadly, it was not meant to be.
-
Yep, remember those times. I wish that legislation would force the manufacturers to give the consumer the possibility to choose which DRM platform they will attach their gift game to. I would have happily added a new game to steam.
-
Glenham tower is possibly broken. Looking for a volunteer to look at it, confirm and fix the issue. Please see the mission thread for details. Thank you for your help!

Nah, after the treatment you gave her, she's been purring like a kitten. Someone mentioned something about a lever not working that used to work.

Have you tried to reproduce the problem yourself? Works fine for me.

I've been extremely busy, sorry. Thank you very much for checking it out for me. I appreciate it a lot!
