  1. http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/907179/deus-ex-3-unofficial-title/videos/deusex3_trl_trailer_30910.html Check out the reply thread over at Deus Ex 3 forums, page 2 has dev input. http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=102919 DEV Q&A http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/107/1077019p1.html In the first two games, there was a great freedom in how you could approach each situation. With Deus Ex 3, how do you plan to expand upon that aspect of gameplay? - HeavyMetalChronus Jean-Francois Dugas : Our initial goal was to identify the core values of Deus Ex and bring them back for a new generation of gamers. The core values were established by Warren Spector and company, so by building on top of it, I think his heritage is quite present. Of course, the first game was released several years ago; we needed to bring fresh ideas to the table but never without respecting the essence of what makes a Deus Ex game what it is. In the end, it's going to be a mix of old and new. Staying true to the original and making a real Deus Ex game is vital to this project. Although we are a new team working on the game, we have the benefit of time and perspective to look back at the first two games and really identify the core aspects of a Deus Ex game, as well as what went right and wrong. Of course, Deus Ex 1 and 2 varied a bit in what those core aspects were -- ultimately, we decided to emulate the first game more; as mentioned, we no longer have unified ammunition and we are returning to an inventory system reminiscent of the first game. We also wanted to ensure that our levels are larger and more open than in Invisible War (i.e. Hong Kong in Deus Ex 1). Is Deus Ex: Human Revolution in the same universe as the previous Deus Ex games? Since the game is a prequel, does it follow the same timeline and some of the characters and link to the first game? Deus Ex: Human Revolution takes place in 2027, 25 years before JC Denton and the start of the first game. The writers and development team have been working closely with the lead writer of the first two games, Sheldon Pacotti, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution segues nicely into the start of the first game, meeting some familiar characters along the way…
  2. I've been busy but let me say this game is sublime. Playing Mass Effect 1 is like playing on a pentium 3 while playing ME 2 is like you're on a quad core. Even on Vista you can alt tab so quickly, load so efficiently, the gameplay is uber smooth. Bioware has just shattered any tech anyone has ever created and set the bar so incredibly high. I have not played Uncharted 2 but I'm sure it's just as good if not better. It just destroys anything I've ever played and only Deus Ex will hold a candle to it due to it changing my life at the time. If you have been wondering when the revolution of videogames would come it is here and it is now. Do not delay any further. Prepare to be jacked in, locked and loaded, and revved up to the maximum. There are a lot of changes as noted above but personally I find them for the better. Less time spending doing stupid tedious tasks and more time in the action. You have to play smart, and if you start out in Hardcore difficulty like me you will get your ass kicked. The A.I. is no longer a push over, you will die. Prepare to die many times. There are some minor bugs but nothing that detracts from the overall experience. Definitely a game of the year candidate hands down. Bioshock 2 will have a tough time following Mass Effect 2. My final thoughts are if you get a chance to play it do so. Avoid the spoilers and enjoy it for yourself. A must play game. On the computer it runs uber fast like I mentioned earlier.
  3. The only damned reason I still run windows is because I play the games on it. If it wasn't for that I'd run Linux or something else.
  4. I don't really know why they made a sequel, perhaps the original actually made some $$. At least they are not giving up and I think they will do good with the sequel. I/O makes good games they just had a bad one out of all the games they made.
  5. The game is being tweaked and changed significantly. More importantly is the use of the textures to achieve a film grain effect. The developers are trying to make the game look like if you where playing through a camcorder or seeing it through Youtube. Regardless of what you may think it will be interesting to see the final result and if they can pull off this technique successfully. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/episode-90-invisible-walls/60909#
  6. I finished the game in December and it was quite the ride. Can't wait for the expansion. I clocked in 64 hours which is insane. Good thing I'm working out as many hours as I played .
  7. My bad about the friendly fire for consoles thing. It's only disabled in normal difficulty.
  8. True, I wonder if it will be next gen console title. I don't think so considering the way the economy is. Also they have not done a DX or Thief game for Xbox 360 or PS 3. The last one was for Xbox.
  9. From what I've read the decision was made back in 07. It is primarily developed for the PC first, the consoles will be a port. I will search for the info and post it an edit when I got it.
  10. I heard it from Game Informer that console version has friendly fire disabled and encounters are not as hard because there are less enemies. No tactical view on console only on the PC. Which version do you have?
  11. What I did find out from the official response is that the game is being made primarily for the PC first. If it is ever done for consoles it will be ported over. So far the only announcement is that it's a PC title. That's the official word from Eidos Montreal forums.
  12. This just in way out of left field. It appears Deus Ex 3 will be a PC exclusive. Let me say it again. Deus Ex 3 will be a PC EXCLUSIVE. What, you can't hear? A PC EXCLUSIVE. I doubt this news story however so don't hold your breath till I find official confirmation from Eidos. Here is the story. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2009/11/25/deus-ex-3-is-eidos-and-square-enix-joint-ef/1
  13. Deus Ex 3 just shifted into 5th gear as it has been announced that Square Enix Japan will be doing the cinematics for Deus Ex 3 and possibly Thief 4. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/square-enix-doing-cg-cinematics-for-deus-ex-3-interested-in-thief-4/
  14. The strongest part for me is the fact that things are in a constant flux. The tragedy and suffering while overcoming whatever obstacles come your way. The friendships you form with the characters are strong due to the great voice acting and writing. The game play is a breath of fresh air since I didn't get to play Baldur's Gate games much. It makes me want to play them now that I actually know what I was doing wrong before in them. The game itself is difficult too and is ono push over like the console version, where friendly fire is disabled. Overall it's the complete package and I don't feel multiplayer is missing at all since I have an epic single player game to play. As for the guy being legit or not I'm not 100% sure as with many things online but he does have a business.
  15. You're right I did forget to mention the amps. I have this one which all the 4 +12v rails have 20 amps. This is an excellent power supply plus you get 3 years of warranty. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817379006 Just make sure your 500 W power supply is up for the task of running everything. Otherwise do not get the 4870 it demands a strong powersupply. Use this calculator. http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine You should be ok because I am only using like 362 w according to that calculator. My system is 1HDD 7200 rpm 1 ATI 4870 512mb ddr 3 4 sticks ddr 2 ram (3GB) 2 dvd drives (1 burner) 1 pci soundblaster card 1 high end motherboard 3 120mm case fans (2 led) 1 80mm case fan 1 lcd front display 1 Q6600 Intel processor mouse/keyboard 3 usb devices in total (one of them being the mouse) That's about it I believe and came to 362 w which is plenty of room for me to add more stuff. You should be fine with your 500w. One last thing about the Zalman, it has a fail safe. If it senses any type of electrical current that is not normal it shuts itself off to prevent damage to your computer.
  16. I bought from this fellow for $30. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Deluxe-Edition-PC_W0QQitemZ270484186882QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item3efa1d2702 Also it includes ALL the download content, soundtrack, and wallpapers. The guy is legit and the game is brand new. Plus you can get some extra items from the flash game. (DragonAgeJourneys) Also you can get some other items manually installed. (Check the technical forums) Way better than buying in store since those copies don't include all the download content. With the codes he gives you, you get the DLC and a code to download from the EA download manager which is fast. Works in almost any language as well. Goodluck!
  17. I would upgrade the video card but make sure you got a beefy power supply with at least 4 +12v rails. Otherwise you will run into trouble and some of your components might be fried. Do not get anything less than a 9800GT or GTX or you can opt for an ATI 4870. I recommend the Sapphire one which is only available on Ebay and less than 100$. I got one and it's good. The only downside is that it's big and really loud. So in the ATI control panel you can save configurations. I put the processor all the way down when I'm doing word processing like now. When I game i put it back to default. It gets loud cause of the fan. Make sure you got a power supply with 4 +12v rails if you go with the ATI card. It requires a lot of juice as do all your other components. Otherwise do not upgrade to the 4870. 4 +12v is a definite requirement to make sure your stuff does not crash.
  18. There's also an editor available which is great. People have already made add ons like extra storage space and being able to re specialize. Can't wait for the campaigns/missions to start. I will try and make some myself.
  19. HOLY SHIT is all I have to say after what I just experienced in game. Nuff said!
  20. Tripe is a type of edible offal from the stomachs of various farm animals. You must like tripes. Lol. How about staying on topic
  21. In case any of you lucky UK folk wanna get this awesome edition buy it now cuz some people who didn't pay lost their reservation. http://www.play.com/Search.aspx?searchtype=allproducts&searchstring=creed+2+black&page=search&pa=search&go.x=0&go.y=0 Also I was wondering if someone could snag me a 360 version and I could pay you for it plus shipping to U.S. via paypal. Let me know asap as they're going fast.
  22. Also available on youtube thanks.
  23. 2009 came and went without much excitement for PC gamers except for a couple heavy hitters toward the end of 2009. There really wasn't a stand out title since 2008's Fallout 3. However that has since changed since the Launch of Dragon Age: Origins. A game that was scheduled to be released earlier this year but thanks to the delay has received much more quests and polish that it might have. After playing for a few hours I must say the first couple of hours are very memorable for my Dwarf commoner origin story. It makes you want to laugh and cry. Why exactly? From the beautiful opening vocal music from the launcher to the personality and exceptional voice acting. The stories themselves have a deeper meaning which tie to social and political issues. A special bond may form between you and the characters you interact with. As is typical of a Bioware game you can expect that the choices you make impact how you can shape the world around you. This is not an easy game neither as each battle forces you to think on your feet. You can pause the game and zoom out in the tactical view. A.I. can be given pre set actions and tactics but they are best used when you micro manage them. Each fight can be your last which keeps you on your toes. The combat is also nicely done as positioning, tactics, and strategy determine how well you do. Finishing moves along with toggle skills are also a nice edition that you will see. Overall I think I am very happy with this game. If you are talking about the total package look no further. The game uploads data to the social site. (Social.Bioware.com) Here people can track your progress. Bioware also has already released the editing tools for the game. There are add ons available already as well like being able to respec your characters. I would recommend to get that add on. If you are interested in the best deal for the game go here. http://cdkeyhouse.com/ You're gonna wanna go there because it's only 30 bucks and you get all of the extra download content from day 1. If you go anywhere else the deluxe edition is 65 bucks or the regular edition is 40 at Gamestop. Depends for you guys on Europe it's probably different. With this guy however you get the key and just download from the EA store. Also if you have trouble with the DLC visit the tech forum at the social site for how to resolve your problems. Anyone else out there has played this stellar game?
  24. Laugh now but we shall see who laughs last! As for Thief 4 it's too early for them to say anything. Also don't expect that Deus Ex 3 will necessarily cater to the masses. Sure they will follow some trends like Regenerative health but it will be strong on it's roots. They are hiring by the way if any of you are interested in moving to Montreal, Canada.
  25. I didn't go as I live in Miami, FL but people that went are ecstatic. They can't talk about it because of the NDA but what they saw they said was stellar. Check out the forums for threads with info http://forums.eidosgames.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=252 I have linked some of them for you. http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=98263 http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=98268 http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=98265 Deus Ex 3 is setting itself up nicely. It will hopefully crush the naysayers!
