  1. Me, an incrediBAD 25! With TDM 2.08 it's really a graphically stunning mission, but it's SO convoluted! (and when someone like me says convoluted, it's *REALLY* convoluted ) AI is indeed super-sensitive, how can that guy see me from there? 'cause he CAN see me and become alerted. Or the builder located beyond St. Allin that can see me literally through (?!) walls when I'm in the apartment between the Mill Tavern and the Hoarders! Question: this low-poly house with low-poly barrels and low-fi textures is some kind of intended joke/tribute/easter egg?
  2. GPU comparison: *GeForce 8800M GTS 64@500 MHz 256 Bit @800 MHz vs *GeForce 9600M GT 32@500 MHz 128 Bit @800 MHz So virtually Pascal8888 can run TDM in that FM scene exactly @28 FPS using a scaling factor of 0,761904 it's not bad for a 13 yo mobile GPU.
  3. Results in "A New Job" Penryn-era dual core + 4 GB RAM + 9600M @1280x800, minimum graphics Penryn-era dual core + 4 GB RAM + 9600M @1280x800 + scaling set to 0.5 (so 0.5*0.5=0.25 total pixels -> 640x400)
  4. It's why I've suggested the "1024" value for the resolution scaling related to a 1680x1050 native resolution. It's (1024/1680)=0,609523 if it can't handle 1280 (0.76.....) I'll test with my 9600M / 512 MB VRAM + 1280x800
  5. In Fullscreen mode you can't change the resolution, that's the catch (to preserve the HUD @maximum quality) So you must use r_fboresolution (or the slider) Resolution choice only works for windowed mode (and in that case you set r_fboresolution to 1)
  6. It's expected, 0.76>0.70 you used. But using that value you can compare to 1280x800 resolution 1:1 Of course you can lower the resolution scale to 0,609523 (1024x640).....but please disable the VSync as first step. Those 2 FMs are killer cases :D, please try the "classic" mansion FM: https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/20416-fan-mission-a-night-of-loot-one-mans-treasure/
  7. The Bloom shader is not so heavy on performance, but remember to disable the Ambient Occlusion and the Soft Shadows. About the Shadows you can switch back to the "classic" Doom3-like Stencil technique (Stencil <-> Maps) and see if you can get a better performance. Set the color precision to 32 (64 solves every banding problem but maybe old GPUs with old drivers can't handle it very well)
  8. Errata Corrige: r_fboresolution 0,761904 pardon
  9. Please use the x64 exe and disable the HRTF if you're using a 5.1/7.1 speaker setup in the Windows Mixer First batch of suggestions! 1) AA off ! AF can be set to 16x but 8x is enough 2) renderscale set to 0.76 (you can manually input via console r_fboresolution 0,761904 to achieve 1280x800 / do not modify it with the slider) 3) Vertical Sync off OR on but first enable triple buffering in a TDM-dedicated profile in NVCP (15-30 are submultiples of 60 Hz so of course you get those value is VSync is on when the frametime > 17 ms)
  10. Please delete darkmod.cfg and let the game recreate it. After that we'll see how to optimize. 8800M GTS = 2015 Windows (10?) Update drivers, right? For the resolution scale set it to 0.76 (~1280x800 - the parameter value is referred to X or Y not to the total area X*Y)
  11. Some readable in an InventorsGuild-focused FM
  12. It started to behave erratic after RIS introduction. Aliasing is "solved" without any AA techniques @2560x1440 on a 24" screen Doom Eternal TAA 32x is good enough (no ghosting) adding a bit of sharpening.
  13. It works, it works. And everywhere if the driver is instructed to allow it (you can always modify this via Nvidia Profile Inspector, to allow it *everywhere* ). It's AMD MLAA that has a totally erratic behaviour about working or not in a game when forced via driver control panel. Remember to force the Triple Buffering in OpenGL games when you don't see the option in the game itself and you use VSync to avoid tearing Otherwise you'll got the framerate as a submultiple of the refresh rate (refresh rate 60 -> framerate: 60 if FPS>=60, 30 if 30<FPS<60, etc.)
  14. Force (openGL) Triple Buffering via drivers (it works for Radeon and GeForce too). Create a dedicated profile for TDM and enable the option!
  15. Is this a 2.08-related issue in this FM? They even can't be deleted......
  16. But I've removed/wiped every data about, re-downloaded and the green tick is still there! It's why I ask.
  17. This larger-than-life fm makes me think about some things: 1) to remaster/rework to these new high quality standards another "community-wide effort" as a flagship FM for TDM: "Crucible of Omens: Behind Closed Doors" (you know, the ghosts of the lost campaigns return chasing the taffers! ) 1.1) to "join" other campaign fms in one single fm (now it's possibile thanks to TDM technical evolution) when a temporally contiguous setting (read: the same day/night) is properly possible 2) to create a campaign playlist ( https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Fan_Mission_Series ) directly in the downloader
  18. Solid compact FM! Well rounded (except maybe the cellar, and why put it behind *another* hidden door but accessible from the outside? Absolutely no need, a crate-norrowed passage or a plain metal door - from the cellar part - would be more sensed) and crafted! Tested with 2.08, 2 issues: 1) can't take these: 2) can't RE-open this a second time (as I didn't take the loot the first time )
  19. EDIT: same post of jaxa, LOL!
  20. There was already a thread about this topic or something like that.
