  1. Yeah, Biker whinged and cried about my status updates as if it was just torturing him to distraction. His busybody, rather than thinking, blurted out some ignorant, oblivious nonsense. I told him to "fuck off" -- or something to that effect. You came to his rescue. As you are wont to. Yes, before anyone is shattered to pieces by being told (rightly and righteously) to "fuck off". You are gallant! And effective! An amazing hero. ... No. I never applied for the latter-day beta-test. I asked about doing just that about a month before. And a couple of weeks ago I asked about getting the assets after I compiled the source from the SVN. Thought I might try out the new FMs and really wanted to mess around a bit with the source as it was said to be available for that purpose. As I say I could get to it on the SVN and compile it... but it is of no use I think with out the assets.
  2. Yeah, I don't know what the fuck is going on. I decided to go back even further and load up a save many times ago... still with the no problem loading and sneaking about as usual... but a crash on saving hence! So, okay, "Lords & Legacy" is borked for me for the time being . I'll try out the other brand new (to me) game, FieldMedic's "Not An Ordinary Guest"... New Game... Install... Restart... Choose my character (definitely cool)... Loading... Finshed... Traditional additional delay... CRASH. ??? I've checked "Darkmod.cfg" against the one I had luckily copied over to my build of 2.00 weeks ago... perfectly perfect. I noticed though while looking for modified files in my Doom3 directory (and subs) that "gamex86.dll" seems to (at least) get "touched" (date modified) every time I load TDM... that's weird and whack (and as far as I'm aware gotta be unnecessary... or worse) but not impossible, maybe I just never noticed that happens before? So... okay I'm going to load up Melan's "Penny Dreadful 1: The Grail Of Regrets" (I was loving it then became a little disappointed and then a lot distracted I guess and left it in the lurch, unfinished). It works. It loads. I find myself anew amidst a good mission. I do some reacquainting and some slight progress-making. I quicksave. It works. I do some more messing about and reacquainting (I realize I must entirely reacquaint and finish this of course despite my earlier disappointment and distraction)... I save conventionally. It saves. I go back and reload the save I came back to this on. It loads just fine again. I am happy that I haven't lost all ability to reason in my oldering age. I am happy that I haven't lost all ability to play TDM. I am oldering though and will quit and go report all this to the forums in a nice succinct manner.
  3. Well, the save is ~10MB so I'm just going to paste in this link to my Google Drive share of it. As for TDM 2.0, I mentioned before (using whatever my previous alias was) that I had compiled it (them) successfully but it is of no use with out the assets. So, no, still just stuck with 1.08. What I'm sending you loads successfully and I can play to my heart's content it seems; but it crashes when I go to save without fail now. And what's weird is that I went back to a previous save and it now crashes when I try to save after successfully loading it... Anyway the link above is to a .zip of the 3 files (.txt, .tga, .save) that comprise last successful save.
  4. Nope. No good. Crashed after loading the previous save?! So why would the thing be crashing now after it had successfully saved after the save I just load? Must be corruption/leak in something external to TDM/Doom. Must be in the system. We'll AVG wanted me to reboot anyway a couple of hours back... so I'll do that now. Done. Fresh boot. Try again. Crash again ("nice" crash). Maybe something to do with these "settling" entities... settling awry? This is at the (nearly) the very end of the Condump above (and therefore the top of the "nice" CrashDump(s).
  5. I think I'll go back in and try my previous save to the one that leaves me on the verge of crashing. I'll load that and try to proceed. But still hope you'll see something in the situation presented above to help. I recall before vaguely those degenerate triangles were maybe a clue? Or maybe a bit of red-herring that I'm still distracted by? Anyway I'm sure it's something. ...It's always something.

  7. As in... "Don't bother me with puzzles. Puzzles no good! Leave them outta my horror"? or "These puzzles are no challenge. I need something more than just wallowing in horror. Yet all I'm left with is this drudging horror!"?
  8. I like the 4 original propositions. The swimming thing sounds cool as long as it isn't over done. I should still be able to wade slowly. I make a little mini-game out of slow-wading and just managing a horizon that lets me see clearly what lies beneath; and I like it! But for full-on swimming, I think the "pulse" motion would be cool. New "particle" effects? The more the better. Bugs and birds and swarms of things. Excellent. More sounds? More better too as well. The SpecialCrouch... meh. I already do that. 'Tis left to my imagination and so I imagine it is so. To actually go to the trouble of implementing it and accomodating the cascading effects? Nah... I don't really love the keyhole idea either. It is unrealistic (though not as much in this universe, to be fair, as it is in most of the games that have keyhole peeking already!). It is a major change too... but, then again, I do agree that since the guards are apparently going to be more aware of things they didn't usedta it becomes necessary. More battle-skills for the guards? Sure. I still can't really work the fighting system anyway, so I need more reason to not get caught. Fuck Stamina? Please don't add your Fuck Stamina all over the place.

  11. In-game check of Stealth Stats (like the 'O'bjectives screen). Speed when carrying bodies should get modified at least slightly by "running"; it don't though, do it? Howzabout changing "Body" to "Unconscious Body" just for clarification. Yes, I know the kilt ones are "Corpses" but still often I'm saddened and dismayed that I might have clubbed a poor fellow to death.
  12. Yeah just got this in "Lords and Legacy" v.1.0.2. TDM 1.08... Got one "good" crash that indicated an alloc/resize error: So I ain't gonna quicksave here nomoa ... Ehhhhh... now this thing is crashing on me repeatedly. Instruction memory access errors. Regular saves. I even went back inside. I'm going to try... ...as I haven't really explored that yet anyway... so we'll see if that change of venue allows me to save successfully.
