  1. There are a few items that I would like to try and address, but I've been holding off until the standalone was released. ( In particular, I want to work on getting automatic screen resolution detection working. ) Have the standalone engine changes been merged into the main SVN, or is the standalone SVN accessible now?
  2. Polish and consistency. (Note: I'm not saying we should be doing this, but it's what people are thinking about when they offer donations.) If we can get enough money together, it is possible to outrught hire a few of the more talented map makers to put together an actual campaign. Alternately, we can offer rewards for certain elements or fixes to the dev team, and possibly licence some of the proprietary parts of the doom3 engine that were left out of the source code release. (mostly performance tweaks). We could also hire an actual screenwriter and an artist/ designer to come up with a VERY detailed campaign script and concept sketches so that the rest of us have a clear plan to work toward. ( and then, again, have an actual dedicated "editor" or "head map designer" position that is being paid to assemble all of the donated elements into the final maps and polish everything so that it feels homogenous.. If we are making an "official" campaign, then it needs to all feel like the polished work of a single dedicated team, not a hodgepodge mix of different art styles and play styles.
  3. I was able to get the list, queue a few downloads, and start them. However, the Details.xml files are not available and the downloads are INSANELY slow.
  4. Heh. That torrent has been keeping both of my offices 20Mb/s connections capped out for 24 hours straight. I've pushed over 400GB at this point. Still jealous of HaVoK's upload speed though....
  5. The torrent isn't actually being tracked via TPB, i'm just hosting the .torrent file there. I've got it tracked through peer exchange, DHT, openbittorrent.com, and publicbt.com. If you can suggest anywhere else, I can add them. I can also send you a copy of the .torrent file directly if you want to post it here. This is the magnet URI for it. magnet:?xt=urn:btih:54C66F18E3C0638B483152DA16952BE3F4623B77&dn=THE%20DARK%20MOD%20Version%202.0%20-%20Standalone%20Release&tr=udp%3a//tracker.openbittorrent.com%3a80/announce

  7. https://thepiratebay...torrent/9024163 Mirrored on a pretty big connection. Wow there are a lot of you. I'm setting up a second seed now, going to sneakernet the files over there in a few minutes.
  8. # This file lists mirror sites for The Dark Mod, which are used by the # tdm_update utility to update your TDM installation. 9. is it too late to edit the updater? we could set the --keep-mirrors to default for a day and add the tdm_mirrors.txt to the zip.
  10. The mirror list is hosted on thedarkmod.com, and the updater has to download that file before it can connect to a mirror to download the rest of the game files. The load is more than the server can handle.
  11. Thank you. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of the tdm_mirrors.txt would you? The updater can't seem to get the updated version. Edit: Nevermind, I got it.
  12. As soon as someone gets a torrent up, i'll start mirroring it via our offices backup connections. (2 20Mb links that are completely unused at the moment...) I'll take a little while me to get enough downloaded to seed it, but it should help relieve some of the pressure on the download servers. (the mirror list isn't even loading reliably right now...)
  13. Created an account to get an answer on this. I have a group of friends with really slow metered home internet connections, and I usually download new games via the large unlimited connection at work and burn dvds for them. From the looks of things, there isn't an option to cache the downloaded files nor is there a standalone install available. Is there another option for a standalone installer as opposed to the downloader/installer option? Alternately, what is the best method for installing to another system without having to redownload the entire game? A torrent would probably be the best option, since your servers seem to be having issues with the load caused by the release.
