    If you're trying to use OSS for sound out on Ubuntu, you're probably running into the problem of Pulse Audio monopolising /dev/dsp . You could disable the Pulse Audio service, but you'll run into sound not working in other applications, or sound not being shared. A better solution is to use a OSS emulation wrapper that outputs to a sound system compatible with Pulse Audio.

     

    Install OSS emulation for ALSA with:

    sudo apt-get install alsa-oss

    Once installed, run the game with:

    aoss ./thedarkmod.x86

    Remarkable... This worked...

  2. If you changes one of the vars in Darkmod.cfg (or one of the other configs),

    from seta s_driver "best" to seta s_driver "oss"

  3. I have no sound on an ubuntu 64 bit machine in darkmod (no music no ambient)

  4. Looks like it was a dependency problem. I had some difficulties finding out what I dependencies I needed to get tdm to run on Arch 64bit:

  5. I have a new machine with gtx 760. It does not want to play TDM.

    I run TDM on 64bit Arch Linux on this new machine and it breaks before starting. (TDM 2.03 is still working on old 64bit Arch machine).

    It is ofcourse possible that I forgot to install some 32bit lib but maybe it's something different alltogether...

    Help much apreciated.

  6. I like the idea of hearing one of the searchers tell the others to stop searching and resume their previous activities just before they stop searching. It would be cool to hear the others agree and continue on their way again. It would add some extra ambiance and realism imo.

     

    Not directly related to cooperation but I really liked it in the originals thief that guards sometimes pretend to stop searching and then all of a sudden turn around again and continue searching for a few seconds.

  7. Just finished this mission and I must say: very impressive indeed!!! My favourite so far I think...

     

     

     

    I have to admit I did not succeed in finishing the mission with the door trick; I had to look it up...

     

     

     

     

     

    I found the blackjack very late into the mission when I was roaming around (not being able to solve the game ending), this was very cool because the blackjack would have probably changed my gameplay drastically

     

     

  8. I tried to download "The Builders Blocks" just now (in game). When I entered the available Missions view it had downloaded "Crystal Grave v2.1" instead.

    Builders block is gone from the missions in the online mission archive. Crystal Grave is still there. When I check for more information (mission details) on Crystal Grave it gives me black screenshots..

     

    Somethings off here me thinks...
