  1. His arms are too static. The legs are good but I suppose the head and the rest just aren't done yet.
  2. He certainly looks purposeful. I like it. Both of them. Could we use both and randomise which one each guard gets? Unlikely, but I can dream.
  3. The work on the site looks good to me. I especially like the headphones.
  4. Actually Sneaksie, I think that one of the clocks in T2 actually was set to open a vault but you had to wait for it to reach the actual time when the auto open sequence was started. It was the subject of an easter egg thread that one of LGS had input in over at TTLG. And because of this we cannot, just cannot, have a less functional clock. Ticking is great, I'm telling you. It's like an audible heartbeat, lite version. Causes tension.
  5. Looks good. May I suggest, for hte sake of ease, not showing the pendulum. Many grandfather clocks have closed and ornate fronts and if you did this you wouldn't need to have a swinging pendulum. Whatever happens you'd have to have a ticking sound on it though, and ticking is very atmospheric too.
  6. This is hilarious seeing as you are one of the most obnoxious and set-in-their ways people in the entire Thief community, who is compelled to negatively comment on every grammatical mistake or post that has an acronym or in-joke that you don't get out of simple ignorance. If a person requires a manual to understand that frobbing a torch flame when you are carrying water arrows douses the flame and removes an arrow then there is something seriously wrong with them. How much of a logical extension is it to snuffing out candles in Thief 3 really? There are much more complex interface choices in many good games that no one moans about. Except possibly ZylonBane.
  7. Exactly. Frob the right thing and you'll be fine. We've all made similar mistakes in games, but it's your fault because you messed up. I'm awfully sorry, but my reply to this is RTFM. Frankly I am appalled that someone not reading the instructions properly can ever, ever, EVER, be given as a reason for not implementing a sensible feature that is gameplay enhancing. It's like the noobs in Red Orchestra going "where is the crosshair??????". My initial answer was "there aren't any", then I started saying "this is a war sim, not an arcade game. They aren't any in real life - use the iron sights." Now I just say "RTFM" and shoot them.
  8. How so? You have to walk up to a torch and frob the flame. How is that easy to do accidentally?
  9. I can't. They are darker and more gritty, and I prefer that. This is going to be awesome. TDM is going to be Thief: The Hardcore Reload. The sounds, the textures and the models so far are really, really shaping up to be a great combination.
  10. Oh Christ you have no sense of humour do you?
  11. And presumably superior grammar and/or typing ablities to some of us.
  12. Ha ha. You may agree with oDDity on the Garrett/no Garrett issue but you and he most certainly have different ideas about weapon use.
  13. If you can do that can you not also implement it for other specific light sources and remove a water arrow from the inventory when it's done to signify that you just popped a water arrow "bag"/"crystal" over them?
  14. It most certainly doesn't. Blackjacks are like rice flails or nunchucks, they deliver a tremendous amount of energy, and thus force, for their size and weight. In reality a blackjack will cause a massive amount of damage to someone without a helmet. They can kill easily or cause permanent damage and injury. For this reason waking guards is unrealistic (if we are being totally honest) as someone waking from a blackjacking will not be in any state to get up and go back to guard duty. You'd have one hell of a sore head. The transmission of force through a helmet would be much less, and in reality there are many helmet types that would stop you from being KOed, even if you were stunned. But if a helmet doesn't cover the entire base of the skull or the neck striking there will render someone unconcious or cause serious disabling injury - certainly enough for them to be so incapacitated that the thief would have time to land a solid boot to the face/jaw and KO them. Only the Elite model has a helmeted base of skull and if I were going for a blackjack KO that's what I'd aim for, not the top of the helmet. Chainmail wouldn't absorb enough of the blow imho - a KO from a skilled and solid hit would be a certainty. I don't know if you meant to do that oDDity but it has worked out perfectly for gameplay purposes if you want to have Elite guards harder/invulnerable to blackjacking.
  15. In all browsers? That's wierd. Do it and clear the cache. I have this very thing set up right here on my machine and it doesn't do that.
  16. It's just for mapping experience I reckon. Many more people will have UEd experience than Source experience because UEd is much older.
  17. Is to me Macsen, is to me.
  18. Oh yeah, that's another benefit of having the real url instead of #. Got to think of these things in a world of tabbed browsing
  19. That's some real hate right there man. But I guess if you don't like FPSs you won't mind anyway. Me? I loved HL2.
  20. Oh man, that's joist mean Macsen. Knot haul of us squeak Welsh as well as u u no.
  21. I know what they are looking for. YOU are the one that linked Steam with engines in that quote I took. HoM&M could use Steam but that would have no bearing whatsoever on the engine. It's just a coincidence that JPS will be using Source. But it's a great engine afaics so why not?
  22. What? I think someone has the wrong end of the stick here. Steam is NOT Source. The new Red Orchestra game is going to be on Steam yet is is running on the UnReal 2.5 engine. Warren certainly has been in charge of some major mess ups. 2 I can think of anyway. But he certainly had a lot of input in some very well respected games oDDity. He's not a manager as such, he will certainly have been behind the creative drive. If he weren't he never would have been able to make that admission of messing up DXIW since he wouldn't have understood what was wrong with it. Plus back in the old days (Origin?) you had to be much more closely involved in the dev process.
  23. I really like the new site. Very clean, nice organisation and the pop-ups work fine. I can see why you wouldn't want next and back buttons. The drop shadow on the thumbs is nice too. And everyone likes B&W thumbs opening colour pics. The menu gfx are a tiny (tiny) bit unneccesary but I'm a real minimalist and it is an art site so I guess it's ok. If you are going to have those animated arrows you should put one on the title graphic that links to the index page> I found a spelling error: - "[City Watch Captian]"
  24. You know you can remove all the extra stuff from a window so it's practically a fram without scrollbars, buttons and the address bar, right? That would make a 700 high image go into a window. But if you want to exploit this Opera behaviour...
