  1. Welcome Hesha. Part of the reason is because more damage is dealt when an opponent is unaware--when alert, they are assumed to be dodging slightly at the last minute in a way that lessens the damage (even though the animations don't cover subtle behaviour like that). In terms of gameplay it was far too easy for the player to shoot the face of a charging guard, since they run at you in a straight line (making it easy to aim), so you need two shots by default (though if you put the combat difficulty to Easy I believe you can still do it in one).

Really great reasoning. I hadn't thought of it like that.

  2. Really great mission. Great work and great design on the gang hideout, lots of nooks and crannies. Really vile character you created in that boss, I felt sick reading his notes. Once I'd dealt with him I literally went round and assassinated his gang. It became personal. Psychopaths like that need putting down. Great too cos I'm usually very consientious about killing NPC's, it is always a moral issue. I don't just snuff out guards to make life easier... But these guys needed putting down. Its nice to actually use some broadhead arrows! Great writing in this one.

  3. Epic does not begin to describe it. What an awesome map, the second part in particular. I really love having to piece together all the clues lying around. Great fun. However.. I'm still lost on the riddle about the wine bottle opening the vault?

Do many more levels contain more than one map in a single install?

Out of curiosity, how many regular level designers are there to TDM? And how long does a typical map take to complete?

Awesome work to the whole team. Please keep making maps! :)

  4. Would we need 9 different buttons to sheath / draw 9 different weapons?

No. Have you never played a TES game?

You select your weapon with the number keys. And your sheath button will sheath and draw it until you select another weapon. Its quite simple and would make all the difference.

  5. I mentioned this in another thread, but I think it would be good if the sheath weapon button would pull the equipped weapon back out if pushed again. Like its function in an elder scrolls game. Sheathing my sword with F, then pushing 2 to get it back out seems a little clunky.

  6. 1) I've been on rare occasions getting a CTD whenever I quick save, which has corrupted my save when I try to reload. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a work-around or way to prevent it? Is hard saving more stable?

    2) Sometimes doors will shut on their own. Are they supposed to be doing this?

    3) Is food supposed to restore health? Often I eat and don't get any health back.

    4) Are there any cheats? Not that I plan to use them, but for using god mode to easily get to my previous place should my save become corrupted.

  7. Thanks all, I should have said that the difficulty settings I meant was the one in the in-game options (easy, challenging, hardcore etc..) As far as I've noticed it only effects how much darkness will conceal you. Are there more variables to it?

Also, I thought the default was the walking speed, lets just rephrase my question to is there a toggle for creeping speed?

And Lux, that doesn't really solve the issue as the other weapons will still require pushing the numbered buttons. If you've played any Elder Scrolls on PC, something similar to that would be perfect, where your draw/sheath button are mapped to the same key.

Otherwise thanks, my biggest concern was whether I'd run into many FPS heavy maps. Good to know I should be ok. :)

  8. Firstly, great mod. Im glad I DL'ed it before spending money on the reboot, which looks to need some patching at the least. After having done a few missions, I'd like to clarify a few things.

    1) What do the difficulty settings change exactly?

    2) How often are new maps released? (on average)

    3) How does St Lucia fare on the FPS demands of the other maps? In other words, if I can play that farely well, should I have no trouble on most of the other maps? Is there one in particular map which is a real FPS hit?

    4) Is it possible to shoot a rope arrow to a beam I am standing on, and then climb down it?

    5) Would it be possible in a future patch, to have the key which sheaths a weapon, to draw it also? At the moment I press F to sheath. It would be more intuitive if I could push F again to get my sword back out, instead of pushing 2.

    6) Also has a walk toggle patch been considered? It would be nice to have an option of walking speed being the default speed rather than holding a seperate button. Sorry to split hairs, but I find its the small customisation options which really matter.

Otherwise great mod, its right up there with Tamriel rebuilt and the nameless mod for faithfulness to the series.
