  1. Etrian serie for the DS is good for that... drawing maps on the touchscreen while exploring was great... http://www.atlus.com/etrian/
  2. it's not hard at all, but the point is that I prefer a lot having hand drawn map with scale errors, missing rooms and few details, as if it was quiquely drawn by someone just to show a specific entrance or treasure location... perfect maps and GPS like tracking is just ridiculous in that universe
  3. I love maps, but I only like them when they are approximate sketches (with missing rooms, details) and only shows in detail one or two area of interest, like sneaky place to enter a mansion... from what I remember T2 had some really nice maps like that.
  4. you'dd want a crossbow for that, no?
  5. that's definitely part of thief charm I love getting our of range and hear the guards cursing me... tell that to my stealth score
  6. with the way it was released it's almost certain this was done using the leaked source... it's quite nice !
  7. this one looks also neat: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/introversion/viewtopic.php?t=1837
  8. hum. Soul ?= Society interesting view... on a side view our father karas said that mechanic is life, no?
  9. ho, this, and I forgot the most important, but most annoying part of my protection... so that is FF + noscript, running inside a sandbox using sandboxie... no need to fear, and more important to me, no need to clean your browser regularly of all the legitimate ad junk that take up space slow down everything and tracks you...
  10. It's definitely not much and I would donate a part of it, assuming I was pointed a convenient way to do it, maybe that could take place through komag donation system? or is there already one in place for the dark mod? now, that probably mean we'dd better wait until it goes stand alone before throwing cash, 100$ with no chance to be published is a bit steep for just a bit of publicity...
  11. I'm playing scoredoom... it's quite good to replay doom http://www.scoredoom.com/ getting score for playing fast, killing and looting everything in sight is a nice game, and let face it with the ability to jump and all other advantage of the newer game engine doom became too easy...
  12. if you could point me what free software to record and give me instruction on how to install and run this flyby spline... not sure my machine is beefy enough through, core i5 2500 with a radeon 6950...
  13. never said the contrary, I was just meaning that it would be possible to sells things based on the dark mod, through keeping the whole FM free is mandatory to atract player and mapper... yes, it's a nice video, but it is really dark, it would be better to make sure it plays in front of a black/dark background, it wouldn't also hurt if gamma would be increased a little bit and if it would be recorded with higher FPS it feel laggy in some parts...
  14. I have to disagree, the mod has to stay free if you want to attract both player and mappers, but making a nice standalone package containing the mod and a nice campaign as a commercial game would be quite nice and normal.
  15. on an other note I found demagogue's "Patently Dangerous" really gets the same feeling as lot of Lovecraft novels... I found it quite frightening.
  16. I only save photos, and I keep a backup copy on an usb key and I backup the whole every year on optical disk... not really efficient but between the original on SD card, copy on an USB stick and the last year backup I'm quite safe I hope... well except if my house burns...
  17. sorry, but how will that change with service like steam? it's already DRM full... and what happend if valve close? none of what you mention is new for the steam case. they already track who got what games, the only thing lacking is an option to unregister a product key to let someone else register it again from another acount...
  18. Sorry, but with the exception of sierra and bizzare, all the other compagnies never added anything worthwise for me... Guitar hero? lol edit: things like Mumbo Jumbo buying ritual entertainment and make it focus on "casual entertainment" is much worst than all what activision did...
  19. yeah, I don't doubt they'll find excuse like that... but I wonder how they'll deal with all the game they already sold
  20. never played that one... nice, I'll try it... I also loved SiN multiplayer... some map were simply brilant... what about paradox? => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxss3n_2C3A or spry? => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WqD7HJS27U edit: it's maybe not clear, but in paradox, every time you cross on of theses teleporter doors the gravity is oriented differently... and you end with other player running on the wall or the ceiling... rather disturbing and fun
  21. and if you compare it with half life (since they got out roughly at same time, and that's a reason for all those bugs in SiN before the first patch), there was so much more innovation in SiN... Usable computer. Visible damage. Armor drop depending where you shooted. Camera. Objectives (and secrete objectives...) that game also had that strange feeling duke nukem had... sure half life was better, but SiN deserved way more attention that it got...
