I hate uploaders. I always redownload the full mod file in order to keep it clean and handy in my archive. I was furious that it took me 10 damn minutes to scan through the whole Dark Mod site and the forums just to realize that there is no full 1.06 archive at all. There might be problems with bandwidth, that's for sure, but not being able to give people to download the full latest version of a mod is, well... extremely weird at best.

I guess you're underestimating the problem. While there are some invaluable and very productive people at Darkfate, namely Zontik, MoroseTroll and Clearing, the rest such as Shadowhide or our new old friend Alex-xxx are just some insane kids, completely ignorant and uneducated, having trouble writing in their native language (let alone English), masturbating, and doing absolutely nothing apart from talking shit about everything. This kind of dorks is not exclusive to Darkfate, of course, but what amazes me is that there are just way too much of them over there. A forum about such an intelligent game should've attracted some more reasonable people, and it did attract years ago, but almost all of them couldn't stand the mass stupidity and had fled after a while. Too bad that Darkfate administration does nothing about this grim situation.

Thief (and The Dark Mod obviously) are the exceptions. These games are all about exploration and checking out details in dark. Bikerdude, whay aren't you working on some big company yet?

If something happens to your autoupdater after 10 years (servers move or crash, some bugs occur etc) or something happens to my internet connection the day I will want to reinstall and play Dark Mod, I will be able to do so with the help of a fully assembled version already stored on my hard drive.

People such as ZylonBane actually keep TTLG alive and edgy place. If someone ever had troubles with ZB, that means that this person was acting inadequately. During long years that I've been reading TTLG, Zylon has never attacked a person without a reason. TTLG is quite a rare place in the Net where you can be called a dumb fuck if you're actually saying nonsense, and the one who calls you a dumb fuck will back his point with heavy arguments. That is the place where mature people talk mature language, not this politically correct 'oh I'm sorry', 'oh please would you kindly', 'oh yes I would like to' kind of shit. It's an oldschool place, and it should remain like this. When I called Adam (Deus Ex 3 protagonist) a 'homo' in the Eidos forums, my post was moderated. I can never imagine something like this could ever happen on TTLG. So, may God save TTLG admins and the people who keep the place as it is now. My only concern about TTLG is that it's getting way too much oldschool in terms of new games' perception. The core people at the forums, for instance, hate BioShock. Well, BioShock might have disappointed some people who thought it would be System Shock 3, but it wasn't a bad game.

Actually, these are quite rough screens. The floor tiling looks unrealistic atop of the stone surface, the corner there is just a 90 degree connection, the edges of the fog volumes are easily noticeable, and some windows shine through the fog (I couldn't find the way to fix the latter two issues yet). It cannot be seen on the shot, by I've rounded its upper edges, which was the main goal for me with this basin. And there is also a water leak and a pool around the basin, it can be hardly seen on the image. I intend to finish this mission as I go through the basic tutorial, but it is really going to be very very small. I think it will hardly be interesting to anybody. Speaking of the actual, "real" big mission, I have no idea when I might start making one. What do you mean? This is a basic snow texture that comes with TDM. The trickiest part was to place a curved patch on the floor to make it look more or less realistic.
