  1. Funnily i've been having an idea for a map some days ago, and thought about getting into map making. The amount of complexity of the editor scares me a bit though... i never used something like it. But maybe i'll give it a shot one day.
  2. I think there weren't any. Only some skeletons in the basement. There definitely were some in the "Heart of Lone Salvation" mission though.
  3. I think they did count as no-kill objective in the mission "The Alchemist".
  4. I found those quite sweet actually. Up to the point where i felt bad when i had to erase them for the hammerites.
  5. Right.
  6. Wow, so many "excellent" votes in every category... seems like i got to play this! I also like series, already played the Thief's Den series, and most of the Thomas Porter series, which are both excellent and highly recommended btw. Even simple connections between the different missions make quite an impact on the gameplay, it's just fun and adds a lot of atmosphere if the missions are connected. Looking forward to play this.
  7. I somehow got used to the spiders in the Thief games. Didn't like them first, but now they're alright. Although i wonder why they are the only animals present in the series, and why they vary in size too.
  8. Thanks, i registered a while ago though, but was inactive for a while now.
  9. Hi, i know there probably have been quite a few similar topics, but i thought i start a new one anyway. I'm having an absolute cracker with this mod atm, you guys have managed to perfectly retain the atmosphere of the classic Thief games, while also adding loads of totally logic stuff to it, which really improves the gameplay. The beautiful visuals and nice ambient sounds (mostly) add to this. There's really very little to complain about, everything i had to complain about i already read in other threads, like some sound fx are not already up to par to the overall quality. Also a big compliment to the map makers, i would say about 90 % of the maps are really top notch, it's obvious that you guys have much passion for the Thief games. So, yeah, thank you all for your work and for making this mod as good as it is.
  10. Oh well, nevermind. The key (literally) to go on, was It all goes on from there! Guess i just got confused and bored from looking around.
  11. I agree with most of the comments on this mission, it really was enjoyable for me, up to the point where i was thinking "Wow, this is the best mission you played so far". In the end, there is some things which really frustrated me though. The level design itself seems flawless, really reminded me off some of the best missions in the Thief series, also nice atmosphere in the parts of the house. However, i think there's a little too much packed into this mission. I'm quite near the end of the mission at the moment, and my inventory contains like 50 items, 10 readables, 20 keys and what not. I still lack the keys to 5 or 6 rooms, and i can't figure out for the sake it where to find the keys to it. I never had a problem to find things in the Thief games, but in many Dark Mod missions i have big problems finding those. And in this mission the amount of hints, and side stories, as nice as they are, is a bit too much. It gets really confusing for me. Also the amount of locked doors, for which you need a key: too much... some keys i can't even identify what they are for... and with the master footlocker key i can open footlockers which i also have a specific key for it seems. I'd really recommend for a little "less is more" next time, because apart from the things i just mentioned, this mission totally rocks. Btw, the doors i miss a key for are the following: Housekeeper room, Pump room, the room with the zombie woman (?) upstairs, 2 rooms without a sign, near the office, and i remember one door with a cell block like gate. I know, this has gotta sound pretty noob, but honestly, i usually don't have a problem finding all the keys in the Thief series... as i said, this mission has too many locked, key required doors...
  12. Ok, i will do so. And yes, it looks like a window from the dark mod. You're saying that such a function is not implemented in the mod? That would be weird indeed... Edit: Same problem here, as it seems: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/14842-cant-download-missions/page__pid__312231#entry312231
  13. Yep, it comes from the game.
  14. I had the same when i tried to download a mission i already had (seems like the internal mission downloader checks for new versions of your missions?). Didn't quite understand it either, as both things weren't true for me as well. The mission won't download at all, it gives me the message when it wants to start the download.
  15. Personally, i gave up on that sort of thing, because i never find everything anyway. That said, i found all the healing portions in the training mission too though!
  16. Thanks man, had to look around more for possible ways when i was on the roof i guess.
  17. Thanks, actually found no.3 myself now, i feel a bit stupid. There's hints all over the room. At no.2: Ok, then i probably already have it. Can't really find
  18. Hey guys, i played this mission yesterday, and while i found it great in most parts, there's a couple of things i couldn't figure out for the hell of it: 1. 2. 3. Couldn't figure out the inventor's room thing at all. Apart from that, great work, i especially enjoyed the town part, it's awesome. @ TheUnbeholden:
  19. That's what happens to people with a big commitment. They get an ass kick from people that give a damn.
  20. I see. :/
  21. I just found this and wonder if this is still being developped or if its dead?
  22. Thanks guys, clearing the Admin's temp folder fixed it. Just logic, running the tdm_update.exe has to be done as admin so the admin's temp gotta be cleared... always trouble with the user account control.
  23. Thx for your answer, but as i wrote i already tried clearing my temp folder... You think clearing the Admin's temp folder could help?
  24. Bit off-topic but a big commendation to the guy/s doing the kind of ambient style soundscape when you pause a mission. Sounds rly rly great and reminds me very much of the Thief games. All in all i have to say the music/effects are very professionally done.
  25. Hi, i just tried to install the 1.01 Update using the tdm_update.exe but when i start the program it immediately shuts down again. I read in the FAQ that emptying my local/Temp folder would sort out the problem, but it didn't. I managed to do a screenshot so that you can see what the command line says before the tdm_update.exe shuts down again, hope i got everything as it is gone rly fast... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Hope you guys can help me with this one. OS is Vista 64-bit, i'm logged in as a normal user and have to execute the TDM updater as an administrator if that matters. Greetings, chk772
