No, I don't think so, it's the subtitles that came with the international games.I've seen bits of the Italian one and it's got the same execrable subtitles. (but of course in German

Nice, I want to build a Himalayan mission with temples etc, I might be in touch, (when/if work dies off in the autumn). The engineering drawings I got for that roof where crap, so I built a scale model which let me see where the tricky bits were. I did some sections in TurboCad, (and lived and breathed that gate for 9 months ). So let me know if you want anything. Have you read Mushasi by Eiji Yoshikawa? With Jotaro who accidentally became a Thief.

This makes me smile as it's my job! I'm a carpenter (principally shuttering but I've done my share of roofing). The tile batten on old buildings can seen inside in England, I worked for a specialist restoration firm years ago and on a mediaeval mill we worked on, we had to make batten using split willow and then hung the tiles with oak pegs. In Scotland though, mainly because of inclement weather, a layer of thin boards known as sarking was always put on first to seal the roof. What that wiki didn't show was pagoda roofs. Here's one I built, (I did the concrete columns and beam on this as well.)

I'd love that on the back of a hoodie scaled up and in the gold/bronzy colour. Rastertec's American though isn't it? Those of us here in the UK would need to sort something out together to keep shipping costs reasonable.

Wow, what paranoia, what conspiracy theory insanity. Jesus, mustn't be any tin foil left within a 20 mile radius of your gaff.

Run to the moderator? Not me pal. I was defending no-one, just attacking an attitude that I had grown tired of seeing. To quote, which is still relevant here - And I am most certainly not a member of this fabled cliqué that always seems to be referred to. (I've only been there 5 minutes and most people wouldn't even know who I was) Personally I enjoy a back and forwards and held absolutely no resentment towards you. (seems like the reciprocal wasn't true). Just Thief isn't commchat and I respect the difference. Behaviour can and should be different in different circumstances and situations. P.S. I don't have this auto censor feature, which I'm glad of.

Which is why there are rules and a code of conduct in the Thief forums at TTLG. Bikerdude, I find it sad that you have chosen to remove yourself from there because you're one of those who who won't tolerate bad behaviour and I've seen you repeatedly pull people up. And on personal level you've helped me a number of times both directly and indirectly through help to others. I hope you reconsider because you leaving would be a big loss. I really don't think the more abrasive members have complete immunity in ThiefGen etc, just ask Queue (who I do like), his humour and language can be a bit strong sometimes and he is repeatedly 'told off'.

Sort of the point I was making, she is absolutely not a "toady hall monitor". I started the fight with aidakeeley by responding to something that was nothing to do with me, we had a bit of a back and forth and then pav' rightly stepped in and told us to stop. This was in Thief Gen where there are stricter rules and a code of conduct, like in all the Thief boards over there. And I'm glad there are actually, it means people are welcome without having to defend themselves constantly. @Bikerdude, don't you think things may change a bit when Thief4 is released and a lot of new blood will come in? (Although this will be years away.)

Fixed gender, and if I remember rightly you called her a snivelling little twat after me and you had a little contretemps and she asked us both to tone it down.

Just to update I went to download the latest version of Heart and from the Bloodgate mirror firefox played nice and gave me the save screen but from Fidcals site same problem, just a screen of garbage. (Though since the latest ff update I can right click and save link)

Hey guys thanks for the responses. I'm on a laptop so a new card isn't an option!. I'm running the most recent drivers. (First thing I checked.) What does puzzle me though is that I can run every other mission except this. Including both for TDM1.01, Stumpy's and Railgun/Springheels. Oh well, I'm buying a new rig in 6 months or so.
-
stumpy, yes that's what should happen but the problem is, it's not.
-
Got my vm set to 4.5g so unlikely to be that. Will try a physical memory test.
-
And another problem! Trying to beta test Fidcal's latest mission and it won't load. I get to the mission is loaded, please wait stage and it freezes for about 3 minutes and then dumps me out giving this message, (or variations but always the same malloc failure #)(with a whole load of other warnings which Fidcal says aren't important) Shutting down sound hardware idRenderSystem::Shutdown() Shutting down OpenGL subsystem ...wglMakeCurrent( NULL, NULL ): success ...deleting GL context: success ...releasing DC: success ...destroying window ...shutting down QGL ...unloading OpenGL DLL ------------ Game Shutdown ----------- --------- Game Map Shutdown ---------- -------------------------------------- Shutdown event system -------------------------------------- malloc failure for 4194312 I'm running the latest version of TDM and Doom is fully patched, all the other missions will load and run fine. My specs are - Pentium DualCore T4400 @ 2.2ghz Onboard Intel 4 series using 1 gig 3 gig Ram Win7 I've nothing running in the background and tried reinstalled my graphics drivers.

@greebo, save page won't work because firefox crashes out before the 40meg has loaded! And for some reason neither will 'save destination'. I'll ask over at the firefox forums. Cheers
-
Firefox will no longer download .pk4 files. It just goes to the page and shows a load of junk. IE will get them for me. (first time I've used it in years.) Any suggestions anyone?

Can't remember. Certainly don't now.

Where's delete post on the edit screen? I double posted and can't see where to delete.

I just got it on this thread, clicking from the main page. I've been getting it about 2/3rds of the time recently

Everything thought that's come to me whilst playing...
Namdrol replied to Mr Lemony Fresh's topic in I want to Help
First off, I've been playing games a long, long time and any game that's able to be mastered after 10 mins play is unlikely to be one I'd want to play for long. And it very possible to dodge and move about in combat. I never use the sword and if I get into a confrontation I use my blackjack and move out of range, parrying with a whack. I take a bit of damage but I can nearly always knock 'em out. I only play on expert so generally I can't kill, so the sword is useless against human AIs anyway -

Which way doors open depends on space, whether it's a public or private area, local fire regulations (all fire doors open out) and personal preference. Same with which side they're hung, whether they swing towards the wall so you see the room immediately or away from the wall so they shield the room for a few seconds. (I'm a carpenter so I know a little 'bout doors) -
I've seen two films at the cinema this year. Moon and Avatar. Moon, I'm afraid I was left a little disappointed. It started so well and had a great, sad loneliness but it just didn't capitalise on it. It was good, just not great. Maybe it's because Silent Running is one of my favourite all time films. Now Avatar, appalling dialogue with a clichéd, hackneyed script. But wow oh wow. I wonder if those who weren't impressed saw it as it was meant to be seen, at an Imax? I have never been so blown away by the sheer spectacle of cinema as when I saw it last Sunday.

What do rocket scientists say rather than "it isn't rocket science"? Well, it tickled me.
