Yes. I had the same problem and I solved it by installing the 32bit versions of some libraries (can't remember which ones anymore). I can run the game just fine even on Linux, I'm just not able to compile it myself.

I already posted this on Reddit, but since /r/TheDarkMod seems pretty inactive, I'll try here. I wanted to try to play around with the source of the game a little bit, but I can't get the code to compile. I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. I have installed all the dependencies (as far as I know), but the build process gives me a bunch of errors which look like they come from zlib.
