  1. Ah, so you connected your wife's WiFi camera to your WiFi router and shot those photos. That's not double-handy, that's triple-handy! ;-P
  2. So when choosing between Dishonored and Bioshock: Infinite, which game would you recommend?
  3. I actually backed this one, and it's come a far way indeed. Back when the project started, it looked promising but - to say it nicely - not even on par with Morrowind. By now, it as reached at least the level of Oblivion. It's more a game of exploration than of the traditional fighting-leveling up-trading, but so far, I haven't regretted to have backed it.
  4. It may sound funny, but that was exactly the reason why I didn't buy a TV with smart features. My TV just has no way to phone home.

    Outcast 2? :)

Seeing that it doesn't really take off might be an indication that you are not alone in your doubts about this project. I also see too few updates, although that may very well change. That being said, they have released a first live video of O:HD. http://youtu.be/ir5Jmd0CRKc

    Outcast 2? :)

I wouldn't call myself a fan, as I've played too little of the game. Back in the day, my computer wasn't able to really handle it, and nowadays it's too much of a bother to try and get it running on a modern system. Still, I do hope the Open Outcast and Outcast HD will both take off. Also, it's not unheard of that a free community project can exist along a commercial version. Black Mesa Source immediately comes to mind. I also hope that I'll get to see Operation: Black Mesa in my lifetime.

I'm still trying to make sense of that string of words. Does it make any sense at all? Also, AB, what do you know about this stuff? That's strictly a male thing! XD

    Cloudbuilt

Sorry, but I get sick just watchin this. I must be getting old. Then again, I don't know if I was ever really into that kind of game. It makes Quake 1 DM look slow.
  9. Is there any indication that jtr7 may be another incarnation of Aida Keeley/Aprilsister? Or is he for real? I have dealt with so many internet socket puppets over the years, I may be seeing things.
  10. Well, there is a reason why you can't really mail-order stuff in Russia and the Ukraine. There's just no option to order something from, say, Moscow, there's hardly any way to do so. And t order something from another country is out of the question completely. There is so much infrastructure either missing or having been destroyed (because these things did worked back in the USSR) that it will take decades for the former Soviet countries to reach (Western) European standards.
  11. When you consider that the GCHQ can already grab the complete data stream that's going through UK cables, which is an enormous amount of data (albeit store it only for three days, as even their capacity is limited), it is decidedly not out of the question that all our telephone calls are being recorded. After all, Snowden's papers prove that the NSA can grab 80 million telephone calls/day in Germany. Also, at least in Germany all telephone communication is digital, so grabbing it is dead simple. And: the bandwidth for telephone calls is absolutely minimal, so recording it required minimal amounts of data.
  12. Bikerdude, is there any TDM mission out there where you didn't at lease take some part in creating?
  13. Yeah, TDM and Black Mesa are the extremely rare exception. Can't really thank the team enough for pulling through with TDM.
  14. Sorry, man, I really tried to be sympathetic, but you really need to see a doctor. Or, you know, go out more. Or at all. Meet some real live people, talk, socialize, bond... you know, what normal people do. Oh, and just for the record, I fully quoted you only so your weird post is not lost - again. After all, all we get to see from you page after page is your ridiculous signature, and not knowing what the folks here react to could leave the uninitiated reader thinking that you are actually the victim here.
  15. Can you post a screenshot first (and make sure what you see on screen is the same as on the screenshot)?
  16. I do that most of the time, simply because it makes it easier to discern what I am referring to. Of course I keep this within reasonable limits - there are people out there that would quote a whole wall of text in their short answer without even thinking about it, and there are people out there who would quote the quote of a wall of text, thinking even less about it. Netiquette is everything, I believe.
  17. There is already a topic on this. Just do a search in the forum, you should easily find it. This method (three quicksave slots) was implemented a few years ago. It works flawlessly and should do so even with standalone TDM.
  18. For some reason, I just remembered how much I hate SHARKS!
  19. For some reason, I just remembered how much I hate Rednecks.
  20. Well, if anything, I'd vote for a gas mine. I loved them back in the day, and I sure would like to see them in TDM.
  21. I'm sorry, but why do we need a knife/dagger/sword anyway? I mean, Thief/TDM is about moving unseen and unheard, and if you actually need to kill someone (there is a select very few FMs that require you doing this, Sons of Baltona being one of them), then you always have your broadhead arrow.
  22. In the end, it almost doesn't matter which engine to use (as long as it's newer than id tech 4, of course), because the more modern it is, the better it can handle larger levels. I am convinced that Thi4f maps are that small because of the limitations of last-gen consoles. Had this game been created solely for next-gen consoles, things would have been different. Also, city hubs were a downright stupid idea back then in the days of TDS, and they are a stupid idea now. I wonder why Squeenix used them at all, after all the player gets to be held by his hand all the time, and a series of levels would work much better in this regard.
  23. IMHO, the first step is NOT saying: "I don't have anything to hide." You get to hear that so often these days, and it's really the biggest nail in the coffin of democracy. The moment people stop caring for their democratic rights, people like the ones we have in our governments right now can do as they please. This doesn't stop with ACTA, it starts with it.
  24. IMHO, for what it's worth, it's an interesting experiment. However, you might want to consider showing at least the outlines (maybe via a shader?) of the stuff that's in the room. This could give your FM a very own appeal.
