  1. I knew someone would say this sooner or later. Well, you know, the "guy with the blackjack", whatever his name. I suck when it comes to remembering names, friend.
  2. Sorry for asking this, but it is the only negative thing I could detect so far... negative to my ears, at least. Is the sound emitted by the thief's shoes related to the mission or TDM? I am asking about this, because they are too noisy for what an average thief'd choose (let alone a master one). While I don't expect the thief to wear rubber soles, I'd think he should wear something less noisy. In fact, the steps make so much noise that my mind is distracted in the process of exploring environments. Fortunately the guards are mostly half-deaf. When I crouch the noise decreases but so does my speed too. Is there some way to reduce the volume caused by the thief's shoes? Yep, strange questions , but I can help noticing that during the missions. Ninja shoes would come in handy, really. Of course, the rest is all positive (no other complaints for now). Removed the "conflicting" name of the guy with the blackjack (Sorry team, but this game is so Thiefy that I always forget that there are just "similarities") PS: If someone can remove that conflicting name from the thread title, do it please, because I can't figure out how to do it by myself. Thanks!
  3. You were right. That Catalyst AI is now off in my The Dark Mod profile. Thanks!
  4. OK, I'll try that out and let you know the results.
  5. I hope some day I'll be able to play this mission. For now, it simply won't load. The mission stops at the beginning and a warning says: "Mission loaded, please wait" Of course, it never started. And if I press the Enter key, The Dark Mod crashes to the desktop suddenly. The specs of my rig are always on my profile. I have the latest drivers/updates of everything, as I am a hardcore gamer, you know . Fixed!: The damn Catalyst AI again!!!
  6. Core 2 Duo E6750, 8GB DDR2 800 RAM, Windows 7 64bits, ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB.

  7. has not set their status

  8. Nice mission... when I can play it finally. I am experiencing a strange bug on my Radeon 4870 (latest drivers): When the mission starts the graphics look great but "upside down". I can walk and walk but I cannot see the floor but the sky. Really amusing and weird! I have The Dark Mod updated. And the specs of my rig are on my profile always.
  9. Nope, friend. This is the page from which I download all my Catalyst updates: http://support.amd.c...ages/index.aspx Even Windows 98/ME are supported if one has an old Radeon (e.g. 9700 ... good times).
  10. People can grab it for the best price: http://software.pric...skd=1/st=query/ No money now? Well, so they should save a little and that's it. For a "huge" Thief fan that obstacle is irrelevant. Anyway, as Epic games released the Unreal source code, to develop "something" based on that engine might be a good idea for the future (2013 maybe?). With skillful devs like the ones that made TDM, they could develop "a real game" apart from mods, and even get paid for that (a new gaming company ). Not a bad idea, really, but not for now obviously.
  11. Hi, I am Gabriel Pradiipaka (a pseudonym), the one who translated the awesome FM "Ominous Bequest" into Spanish in 2004. I have been a huge fan of the Thief franchise from the very start. When I installed TDM, I thought it would be full of glitches due to the immense scope of possible configurations, lack of betatesting and the like. When the Training Mission didn't start, oh God, "my thought was confirmed" I thought to myself. Anyway, I came here and got the solution (disable Catalyst AI). I did so and the Training Mission started. I was plenty of time there by adjusting my old good skills to the new system. Object manipulation really impressed me as well as lockpicking (my ears worked so subtlely). Some time trying to take out that damn candle from the cage till I could catch the mechanics of the clicks to manipulate the object. Very good. The graphics are very fine, but the thing that impressed me most was the atmosphere when I started my "first FM" (Patent dangerous). I am still making my way, but I can guarantee that this mod produces real Thief games (oh yes, it is copyrighted by Eidos ). Even Thief 3 couldn't convince me that it was a "real Thief game". But, just starting my first FM and feeling the same "old good" stress I felt with Thief and Thief 2 (the guards, the night, the shadows, the dangers, the loot and all those good things). Congratulations TDM team, you have made "a winner". Brilliant, all round!! Suggestion: Post your photos (not only your names). I want to know your faces. I have always thought that the devs should be absolutely "public" and "high-profiled". They are artists and deserve credit for that. Thank you so much for all the endless hours of fun "I will have in my future".
  12. - Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bits) - CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.4 Ghz - System RAM: 8 GB DDR 2 @850 Mhz - Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870 (512 MB) - Video Drivers (if that info is available): Catalyst 9.10 - Experienced Performance, Steps you had to perform to get it running or problematic driver versions, etc.: Average 63 fps with all maxed out at 1280x1024 (4:3), 4x AA and 16x AF. Bloom enabled (no problems at all). The only issue was with Catalyst AI preventing the missions from starting (the Dark Mod started fine). I disabled it and no more problems with anything else. Playing for several hours (Training Mission and Patent Dangerous) without any visible glitches. Bloom didn't disturb my swims.
