  1. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/7379449 besides the board its the same setup i use bottlenecks ??? where 2000 points less than a RX 7900 XT in a much more recent board 9000 points less than a 4090 rtx in an amd board using the 3d cache ryzen thats just sad... utterly destroys a normal gaming PC from 2023 while still keeping up with a high end PC from the same year... yeah. and it cost me around 500$ to build
  2. hmm come to think of it fast light toolkit or FLTK for short could also be used, it does have an editor and the gui part is created as a single .C++ file which can be interfaced with in the engine, still needs to link to the FLTK libraries but besides that it is pretty simple to use. The editor does take some getting used to though.
  3. ah yes my bad misunderstood the question , imgui does have a gui editor https://github.com/Raais/ImStudio there is a prebuilt editor here https://github.com/Raais/ImStudio/releases crazy eddies does not as such have one though there are some nice tutorials for creating one with it on its site. since it is scriptable you can make gui's pretty much on the fly with it though. downside as said it has a lot of dependencies so expect a good deal of extra dll's and dependant on what you want to achieve it might be overkill.
  4. imgui ?. crazy eddies might also be worth a look since it has elements that would fit in well with a thief styled game, was untill recently used in the planeshift mmo before they ported to unreal. both are C++ based though imgui would probably be easier to integrate. crazy eddies gui depends on a whole lot of img and render related libraries that might not be all to easy to handle unless included as a prebuilt library with all dependencies compiled in, it does have a lot more options though.
  5. yep that was the one i got lost and could not find a way back in all the doors i found were sealed.
  6. Oh its also full aluminium and has dampening mats on every free square inch so it is pretty silent to in fact i can barely hear it run hehe. Cabby is also completely tool less all cards are held in place by spring loaded clamps even the PSU can be mounted without any tools. pretty good condition for a 16 year old case to
  7. kinda weird but i lost all compulsions for gaming... went back to building sleeper PC's as a hobby instead. heres my latest -> Lian Li PC-B25FB outfitted with an asus x99 deluxe mainboard, a 1080 ti gfx card, 32 gigs of G-Skill DDR4 ram. and a samsung 1tb nvme as well as two 2tb sata ssd's also from samsung. probably the lightest PC i ever built... 750 watt corsair PSU and it weighs about the same as a good handbag . cabby while 16 years old has some pretty good airflow to. two 140mm fans up top two 120mm in front and one 140mm blowing out the back. The CPU cooler is a thermalright. Perfect machine for old school lan parties because of the weight and it is plenty powerfull also with the 6900K cpu.

    Free games

shows what the old quake engine was capable of even source had roots in the quake1 engine though the renderer got updated quite a lot with shaders etc. xash3d fwgs is an opensource interpretation of the old goldsource engine and plays pretty much all the older titles not only on PC but on phones and tablets as well, it can also be built natively on linux since it relies on SDL2. The original author uncle mike long since dropped the project but the fwgs guys have made some strides in enabling the missing renderers so now it runs in both opengl and software (no d3d yet). There also a modkit enabling a more modern renderer with shader effects (XashXt) but for most parts it cannot be used out of the box with the older games (only intended for those who want to create new mods). the engine itself is a strange mix of a C based renderer and C++ based client code, the funky thing is you can actually override the engines old renderer from the clientside with something quite a bit more modern. The old renderer got updated with a VBO engine part but it turned out to be buggy as hell and was later disabled (broken flashlight / geometry).
  9. Hmm been a while since i played it but the part that got me most was when i had to spacewalk outside the station and got lost in the debris xD. i got pretty good at using there own powers against them but some sections can be a real nutcracker to get around in (much like system shock). I really liked the old game as well to bad the sequell got scrapped.
  10. they are getting sneaky indeed also had to make some changes because some sites now seem to have found ways to circumvent ad blockers.
  11. well my park of older asus boards now include an asus x99 deluxe one asus x99-AII and one asus rog gaming x99. all running quite well. I gave away the rog gaming to my sister who was still using an old mac pro (the one with the amd 290x gfx card) and a xeon 8 core sandy. while it was still running it was suffering from some heat delirium clogged up with dust (damn i hate taking apart these mac pro's allmost broke it because you need fingers the size of pencils to get the ribbon cables back on when reassembling it). the rog gaming with a 6900K ran circles around the old sandy even after cleaning it despite both having the same ammount of cores and the gfx card i gave her also had the old 290x based chip beat (980 gtx). If she needs something stronger the board can easily manage an rtx 2080 ti a 3080 might be pushing it though.
  12. got myself a samsung S20FE no problems changing the browser with this one atleast
  13. On my pc its a different problem so far only affecting gmail and external mail readers (so far only thunderbird is usable, outlook causes all kinds of weird behaviour actually had to use an app key to get it running atleast for reading mail). microsoft now also blocks any older outlook than the payed 365 version.
  14. unfortunatly i cannot remove chrome from huawei even if i use another browser chrome is the default and on my phone it cannot be changed at all unless you root it which by all accounts is seriously hard with the fig-lx1 (you can no longer opt to get the bootlocker key from them so it has to be bruteforced) .
  15. well to add insult to injury google now shadowbans devices blocking they're trackers tested by phone and pc if you are in the eu theres a good chance google's tools will stop functioning if A behind a vpn B using encrypted dns on a phone blocking googles tracking URL's. my phones chrome browser actually gave me several warnings about google being infested and wanted to uninstall all google tools, turned out if i disabled the secure dns proxy i use all was honky dory but as soon as i reenabled it BOOOM!!!!.
  16. oh believe you me sir. im also rather paranoid on that account got plenty of stuff that wants my every detail hence i use the LTSC version of win10 enterprise :). No apps in fact the OS does not even have the appstore installed by default it still nags about using an ms account at first start but thats about it. the telemetry stuff is still there but that part can be disabled with rufus when making an usb stick for installing it. my best bet is that this behaviour to make things a bit easier for the user comes with to many downsides in spying so getting crafty is the remedy
  17. one thing that might avoid the problems with setting up a new account every time would be making an image of the OS when installed and configured (can use something ike norton ghost or similar for this) also avoids you having to setup everything anew when things go bad and you have to reinstall. As for cracking the password it could be several hours since microsoft updated the security on that part of the system. if it takes more then it would probably be a lot faster to just bite the apple and reinstall. setting up a new user account would also entail some problems unless you remembered to install for all users your programs would only be accessible to the main account so yeah you would need to reinstall everything besides windows. things have indeed become complicated in later years mostly due to security concerns ugh... resetting your microsoft account password should also reset the password used to log in to your PC if you use an ms account, it should ask you to update it on the next reboot. and no problem allways wise to ask questions if in doubt.
  18. strangely i allways had a good memory with numbers but an abysmal one with names. training can indeed do wonders even thouh most dont see the brain as a muscle it can be made to do things you might not allways have imagined being capable of. i usually have a slip of paper with the password on but in some cases i also used my phones password manager (no password on the phone i use my fingerprint instead).
  19. hehe im from a time where we still used the "manual" method, but yeah using a password manager should also do the trick (unless its on the PC you forgot the password for) .
  20. DDU is probably the best method since it also deletes leftovers the uninstaller might leave. for the best result start DDU as admin in safemode since some keys / and / or leftovers might be locked by the OS otherwise.
  21. good choice just be sure to not carry it around with you in your wallet.
  22. yeah they tried getting rid of it numerous times, once it was just a hidden option and you needed to disconnect the computer from the internet for it to appear, on another occasion you had to select domain login. i guess in the end they had to cave to the demand from users to have private control.
  23. depends how you set up win 11 i guess ?, if using an offline account atleast on win 10 you are presented the option to secure it via a password (this is also the default if using the LTSC or enterprise version of windows). If you can log in via pin you might be able to delete the password protection from the user setting though i seem to remember you need the old password before it will allow that. on an online account you wont have these kinda troubles naturally.
