  1. Like I said before this should have come out by at least 2010 before all the work on left 4 dead. They were episodes not more than maybe 20 hours at most, it would have been easy to do back then. They should have at least just finished the story, but then later than 2010 it would not be taken seriously by anyone who hasn't played the Half Life 2 series already - from the original Half Life in 2004 to Lost Coast and Episode 1 and 2. I actually played half life 2 twice and started another run until something else distracted me. It is insane how steam grew from an annoying DRM to a superpower game merchant (for lack of a better description). When I got the game in 2004 I had AOL dialup in a Halfway House and was limited to sneaking the telephone cable out when no one was watching.
  2. The real reason there will be no episode 3 is simply because Gabe Newell is still adding up the money he has made from his Steam platform. I still believe with the money they have made with steam and offering damn near every computer game from 2000 on and a host of Indy games they would have the decency to hire a third party developer to put out Episode 3 for their fans. I don't even remember playing Half Life 2 :Episode 2, I honestly do not remember what happened when I played it. There are developers that were in the heart of BBS piracy that had planned for trilogies that were not made because the developers were broke and did not have the funds to continue what they truly loved to do: make cool games like: The Amber series - Amberstar was published and Ambermoon was done in German and was not yet translated and they went broke. This was meant to be a trilogy. I seriously doubt that Valve (or whatever they call themselves now after the steam thing) is not lacking the funds to put out Episode 3. It should have been released before Left 4 Dead in my opinion, at least before Global Offensive, they have no excuse other than being greedy and lack of respect of their fans.
  3. When I saw the trailer I felt sympathy for the girl in the game from her facial expressions, and that's hard to do in most games, her despair and helplessness really got to me. I think this called empathy in normal people. So yeah this will be something new to take in. Pleas tell me there is not Cinematic Cut Scenes very 5 - 15 minutes, this usually ruins games for me, a prime example of this is most Resident Evil's, The Evil Within, the Alan Wake serie. EDIT: "I am Alive" (although in the case of "I am Alive" is that it was too limiting on gameplay and you had only one very specific way to get "from here to there" and if you died during that (and this has to be done perfectly) you would end up doing the same "from here to there" again. I have so many steam games that I forgot I had Lethe, which is a Penumbra type game - almost exactly like the part I of Penumbra. I also have so many games I get them mixed up "I am Alive" was the limiting games I was thinking of. I think Zombi was good but I stopped for some reason I do not remember.
  4. Dark Decent, I don't think the other one is as good as the first, but I will try it someday. With so may good reviews you must be hard to impress. 2 of my favorite horror games are F.e.a.r. and Condemned Criminal Origins, but I played F.E.A.R 3 times and Condemned Criminal Origins twice - the gun-play in F.E.A.R. is the best I have played. Only amazing games I can play again and enjoy, two other games I can play over is Thief 1 & 2.
  5. Welcome to the police department, where working late can lead to tragic consequences. You're John Bishop, a swamped-with-work detective who tirelessly carries out your investigations late into the night. But tonight you are pulled from your precious few hours of rest ,and a strange dream, by a mysterious call from an old “friend.” Turning your fight to find the truth into a fight to survive the night. Your police department is left without electricity. The security system has been hacked. All exits are locked. But that is not the real problem. Someone… something is following you. Red eyes shine from dark corners and the sound of shifting, clanking metal echoes through the once safe halls.. You know them simply as animatronics, but something unknown and horrifying is driving them. Figure out what is going on, survive the night, and remember - no one will care if you scream. FEATURES A tablet to watch the security cameras carefully. You will use a tablet to watch the security cameras, and you need to be seriously careful. Using the environment of the police station is the key to salvation and survival. Be quiet, be alert, move fast. Your only tools, the only things you can rely on, are your legs, your tablet, and a torch. Hide & Sneak. Use closets and cabinets to sneak between animatronics and try to catch a silent breath. Animatronics. The steel legs and arms will treat you well. Get ready to be confused by their abilities. Be prepared to react to the unexpected. Figure out what’s happening. Explore the police department in search of explanations. Don’t forget to listen to the world around you and keep track of the changes around. The only one that can save your life, is you. $9.99 on Steam
  6. Rather than putting the titles in a hat, or a randomize program in my emulated C64 with basic. I would like to know if anyone has a preference for horror games - Please no spoilers I can do my share of the accidentally so here's what I have (own): Outlast 1 Amnesia SOMA Case Animatronoics Dead Space 1 Lethe (similar to the Penumbra series) any info would be nice and again please no spoilers!
  7. I am not too entirely sure of the problems of Prey technically, but anyone interested in the game steam has 50% $29.99 off deal today or tonight elsewhere. Early sale may have to do with the problems and trying to get them out before the gaming world all knows the problems that are here in this tread. Guys if you don't like me just ban me, i am not going to make a big deal about it.
  8. I did not read the entire post here, but i did read a lot and my opinion of Windows 10 HP: It's garbage, I have been able to use windows 98 to Windows (even Windows Vista has a more stable experience) with minimal problems, but every time I install Windows 10 there is nothing but problems, and I am not exaggerating. Just had to say that. i have used Windows 7 for 7-8 years to this day without much of a hick-up. I am not trying to be a dick, Windows 10 and me are not compatible and again I am not exaggerating - I cannot install Windows 10 without problems, I have tried about 4-5 times on a fresh formatted SSD, and then I Have serious problems within a day or two, and this is from a fresh OEM CD with a valid CD key and after being activated and bought from NewEgg, along with the latest downloads from Microsoft ISO download. Sorry about the watch PC thing but it was a bit fucked up guys, I don't want to live in my truck on welfare because I cannot find a job from the people that hate me. Guys if you don't like me just ban me, i am not going to make a big deal about it.
  9. Yeah, I give some time to look at the smartwatch, I think I will stick with AMD k6 350 for as long as god will continue to pay my rent for me for the next 10 years (gosh I hope so), then I may look into an AMD xp 2100,and then I will be cooking with gas. I think that god has better solutions for health care and a nice 1266 dollars strait from the heavens, it's usually a better solution compared to welfare and stuff. Guys if you don't like me just ban me, i am not going to make a big deal about it.
  10. One thing I noticed in the keep is that there are no footstep sounds from the AI at all, one minute I am in the shadows doing whatever and a Non-Guard NPC is right behind me, and starts running around, (and on master level I cannot blackjack the non-combat NPC's) this was never a problem with the other Thief's. Not really that important but it is frustrating. If you watch my Thief 3 FM you will notice guards or NPC's footsteps even on carpet. Also the in game cut-scenes are ridiculous and draw your attention away meaning immersion is ruined. After chapter 5 I a little tired of it, need to redo side missions to get equipment and thats not too exiting in itself.
  11. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrafice - you beat me to it, I just watched the trailer on GOG. i realize the importance of story and content of games like these but playing the second Pnembra (the Black Plague) and I could not attack at all was a bit frustrating to me, so hopefully it's not a Collage of cut-scenes. Anything with Poe or Lovecraft would be nice. I AM going to play Amnesia and Outlast in October this year unless I am in jail, homeless or my neighbors find it inappropriate. I think I will pass on dead space and go with these other titles come October.
  12. I had a K6 350 and i have to say it was garbage compared to the Pentium 3 in gaming - before I get anyone upset - I also had a 800MHZ Duron and it was a decent Celeron contender, Then I bought a AMD a 1700xp upgraded to a 2000xp i think, then to a 4000+ that I still have in my computer tool chest the the dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+. I had my first pseudo dual core Intel Pentium 4 just for the hyperthreading during render time, and it was garbage. Then came the Core 2 Quad and I have been an Intel slave since - my latest was a 3960X and it is a good match for my GTX 1080. Funny thing I played the first 2 Thief's with that AMD 350 and I would get a slide show on certain part of the Shipping and Receiving mission, of course i had a crappy video card probably the Diamond Stealth III S530 S3 Savage 4 Pro PCI, I don't quite remember but it was PCI and had S3 Texture compression
  13. Every time I think of this reply it makes me hope you are not confusing me with Mr. Trump.
  14. Sounds familiar, when I was in a very disciplined group home in 83 or so we were not allowed to have TVs in our rooms - but get this we were all teens and were allowed to smoke in our rooms, later in life that sounded fairly illegal - there was this nerdy guy in another dorm and at the time I was into sports and things not good for you, he had a C64 and it was hooked up to a TV and I asked how he got his TV in, and he said it was because the C64 was educational, and I told him how stupid it was to look at a flashing square on his TV screen. The cool kids were the ones in the day room with the Atari 2600. Never really appreciated computers until 1988 using a drawing program on a 386. Men of a certain age, and we all pretty much had the same experience, but the real reason for the topic was to let a small few of many that may not be familiar with emulators and abandonnedware ROMS that these games are free and the emulators are great to use. Imagine having 20,000 C64, 4,000 Amiga and 20,000 MS-DOS games at your disposal back then. I only found out about this in 2007 when I did I was more exited than I had ever been in a long while, I was printing manuals and making lists and collecting and configuring these games - that back then I could afford 1 or maybe 2 a month. As far as the legality - I bought legal Amiga kickstarts. I use DosBox without a frontend so no screens of the massive amount of games there. You can find some retro gaming content here http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/ Emulators, frontends and other things for these games are just a google away. I would imagine you are aware of the American TV show on the AMC channel called Halt and Catch Fire. Your post of your BBS business seems like the heart of the show. Also I have watched this "BBS Documentary - Atari - Apple - Commodore - IBM" I forgot where I got it but YouTube should have it and it is interesting.
  15. The main addiction part of RPGs for me was I would play for up to 8 hours straight and then It would be so hard to stop before I go to town 1 and sell that new Sword and set of Gauntlets I found in a chest and buy that Ring of Protection +1 that I have wanted - but I get that ring and after I leave the store I run into a group of enemies with a large fight on my hands or maybe I just want to go to town 2 and save the game at the inn in that town, and then I will call it a night, and this is how the addiction starts and then you cannot wait to get back to the whatever forest and fight that giant that you believe has a large amount of gold in his chest the next day. Some tactical strategy games (Jagged Alliance 2 - Fallout Tactics) with large amounts of guns and ammo types can be addicting just to get the micromanagement done. Such as collect the M4s and some 5.56 AP rounds at a store in sector A2 (in these games seem to be literal real hours of day when you run into new fights) and buy some more Kevlar vests and don't forget 10 guys in sector D4 need some 7.62 rounds or more grenades, and maybe I should split Squad D with 6 Mercs. into 2 groups of 2 and 4, Mercs each then send 2 to sector F5 and keep 4 in town 1 to defend it. The addiction is "I will just do this and then do that and quit, but wait I still have that to do, oh and I need to get this done as well". Like "Ill' kick tomorrow I swear or just 2 more days and i will kick. (Sorry for the obvious drug reference). I've known a few of them here and there. FPS, Sims, Sports and Racing games I can pick up for an hour or two and then play some more the next day. As far as consoles I am "Sonic The Hedgehog" and "Super Mario World" vets, but other than football games and these they are "not complicated enough" to keep my attention. I hated Diablo for the just click-click-click thing and the Weird map changing and re-spawning after a visit to the store.
  16. I started with a C64 and got addicted to role playing games Might and Magic 1, Ultima 3, wasteland. Then to an Amiga 500, I have C64 Emulators and the lovely Winuae now and about every game ever made for them, funnt thing is I really wanted a 286 at the time of my C64 purchase but I got the C64 used and a boatload of games instead. I am surprised there are no retro console guys around, but I myself was always the computer over consoles to. MAME is a good emulator as many console emulators, but like Destined I use Dosbox and Winuae for RPG's.
  17. Clever Title eh. Anyway if you had an Atari 2600 or an Intelevision when you were a pup then this site may be able to bring back some memories of the Video Game Golden Age. The site has a good group of guys and I have been with them since 2008 or something, if you think this is not appropriate for some reason let me know. http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/
  18. By Christmas it will be $20.00 or less on a steam sale. As far as I know Prey 1 which I played but did not like too much is AA game at best. I believe Dishonored 2 will be last longer before getting it on a massive steam sale. But then Singularity by Raven Studios (the Black Crypt Guys) was over 20-30 $s for years for some reason it took about 5 years to get it at about $18.00 or something, It was a good game by the way.
  19. The actual hardware: Show and tell I guess.

  21. I had no Idea an i9 was out, I usually check every month or so at new-egg so this is something to look into and the Broadwell 6950x is a joke at the price they ask, the second Broadwell extreme edition down is around a $1000.00 All the X299 Mobo's are bizarre looking with its off angle cuts and anti-symmetry wired looks. 44 lanes now - 2 16x SLI - 2 4x M2 boot drives (press F8) and a 1x HT-Omega Sound Card. Look at the speed of these M2 cards https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147598&ignorebbr=1 you could boot in 5 seconds, well maybe. Anyone interested in a new build, the best cases I have seen ever are Case Labs. You can mount anything in any way like an erector set, you can even mount the power supply in the case to hide it: http://www.caselabs-store.com/pc-cases/ You can have a cube case with 2 motherboards and up to 32 3.5 hard drives or up to 64 SSDs with this one: http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-thw10-customizable/
  22. Sorry for the double post.
  23. I was doing some searching on great rock guitarists and, I am sorry but Jimmy Hendrix is WAY overrated in my opinion. I like Buck Dharma, Micheal shienker, Tony Iommi and Richie Blackmore. But one thing caught my attention and it was said that no one could play like him (if you like him or not). Then went on to say if you are playing like him you just trying to hard to sound like him it and it is obvious. Same with Kieth Moon, and Looking Glass Studios. I wish Looking Glass would come out of the shadows but I doubt that will happen. That paint thinner or turpentine my enemies replaced with my whiskey has had me sick for 2 days. I was being proud of my constitution and was drinking it anyway and had half a fifth of that crap and I guess I am not that internally strong. If I want a bottle of alcohol ever again I will get a half pint and not leave the house. I am sorry for that last part but it's true.
  24. This is about that Whiskey subject earlier. I bought a bottle of Evens Williams and I would have to say it has an excellent taste and the smoky aroma and taste is there as well, and It is 1/2 the price as Jack. Now I leave my home for 6 hours and it will be replaced with a bit of paint thinner. Still good Whiskey for those frugal Safeway shoppers here in the US. Thief 1 and 2 will never be reproduced, the more they try the worse it will be as you are in game and thinking "they are just trying to make this look like the first 2" and then the game will UN-immerse you with that thought. This is not Wizardry or Bards Tale or others, If you are stuck you may need help, also the frustration I had in Wizardry 6 was emotionally scaring - where the fuck is that key or whatever after 3 days of frustration I wish I had quest marker's back then. Can anyone say they never fast traveled in Oblivion or Skrim? I left the house for 2 or so hours and the whiskey has paint thinner in it.
