  1. Well on the fresh install there is no tick for the completed PD1 mission so I'd say missing missions are probably not the root cause of that Also I have a backup of the game from before I did the fresh install but after I ran tdm_update, I can switch between the two in seconds, what information do you need ?
  2. OK completely reinstalled TDM from scratch, downloaded the missions, my apologies to server managers for the bandwidth, set the same resolution as before, turned notarget on and walked through PD1 to completion, looking in the mission list the summary says it's complete, but there's no tick next to the mission name, also the odd hanging tick on the last page seems to have vanished. full size
  3. missions.tdminfo the darkmod/fms/penny/savegames folder has a Mission_1_Final_save.save, .tga & .txt I reloaded the save, the loadin screen shows the mission has been completed but the tick isn't there full size version I loaded the final save I took before the game finished, all objectives except the "return to start" are ticked off Full size version Ran tdm_update ( log file ) just in case, this updated the training mission and tears of saint lucia, checked the mission selection screen and PD1 still isn't ticked off despite saying it's complete, however the stray tick on the last page seems to have disappeared. I'll try a complete fresh install of TDM just in case there's a corrupt file & get back to you
  4. Ah other people are getting it. I'll post the missions file when I get on my PC but from memory those missions are ticked off ok I'm playing at native resolution, two ticks I posted my spec somewhere ... found it
  5. Bit more information, I scrolled through to the last page of missions and noticed a lone tick with no corresponding mission which judging from it's position matches the PD1 entry a few pages earlier, I'll see if I can get screenshots Bigger versions of those images are http://www.boxtechni...13_17.38.31.jpg and http://www.boxtechni...13_17.38.40.jpg I added the red circles for highlighting The mission seems to be ticked off on the wrong page, it's not a huge problem, more of an oddity
  6. Hi all recently played through Penny Dreadful 1 : The Grail of Regrets I've completed it but it hasn't ticked off on my mission list The entry in missions.tdminfo for this reads tdm_missioninfo penny { "last_play_date" "2014-09-12" "mission_completed_2" "1" "mission_loot_collected_2" "875" } Any suggestions ?
  7. As I remember there was a child in the original missions who was a translator for the Keepers oracle, she only appeared in a cutscene though, and there's the infamous child in the cutscene at the end of T3 that everyone loved so much. There was one fan mission with child like AI, they swore like troopers and were quite deadly which kind of implies they weren't children though. Personally I'm for for not having child AI in the game.
  8. Quoted for truth and eloquence. Most people seem to assume I'm male despite my username and unless they actually say something I don't correct this impression as I find it saves dealing with crap, I never really thought of myself as fearful but I guess that's what it is.
  9. You aren't his entertainment, you're his co worker, report him.
  10. Seriously ? Is that what we're calling it ? I feel so much better hitting the save button now I know some people think I'm a savescummer
  11. At the end of the day if you want to implement this to give mappers more choice then go for it, it's your time and effort, you can spend it how you like. Just don't get upset if you put man years worth of effort into a mission that very few play because they don't want the restriction on saving. Personally I think that we should look for gameplay related solutions to making missions more challenging, more complex puzzles or smarter/more capable AI rather than altering the save game system.
  12. Just a thought on sitting/sleeping, unless the head is supported a lot of people 'nod' where the head falls slowly until it reaches a tipping point starts to fall and the sleeper jerks to catch it, sometimes waking themselves in the process, also unless the jaw is supported a lot of people sleep open mouthed when sitting. Probably a bit OTT
  13. I'm sorry but I'm the one playing, I make the decisions about going left or right or taking an incredibly risky leap across a chasm because it looks like there might be something interesting on the other side and dying in the process. I rarely play missions where my KO's are limited why should I play missions where if I die I go back to some point not of my choosing ? Then there's real life getting in the way, phone ringing, postman making a delivery, collapsing through lack of sleep because you haven't reached a checkpoint and aren't safe so you can't turn the PC off and go to bed, silly example I know - please ignore that one So no, sorry if I'm not playing the way you want me to but I'm not interested, if you do implement this I won't be using it and I won't be playing any missions with it in. It's a game not a test of endurance. -- EDIT -- I should add I'm not a TDM mapper, yet, I did make a level for T2 and I'm looking at darkradiant at the moment but pressure of work is preventing me from doing much.
  14. I've started hiding candles I put out for that very reason
  15. Thought you could, I'm just crap at swordfights
  16. Really enjoyed this one, thanks Sotha, getting out of the cell was a real headscratcher, played on assassin as I really don't like restrictions on KO's Only hiccup I found was this
  17. I think you can kill zombies with the sword, not 100% on that though Might be an idea to be able to throw holy water at undead, especially if you're low on water arrows, this would affect game play and some existing missions though
  18. For all that the levers and buttons are bigger than in Thief DP & MA, they can be very hard to find I've found, Melan & Bikerdude seem to have a talent for putting the things in plain view and stopping you recognising the things
