  1. i haven't as yet recieved an email containing my password for this site. although I have recieved those blackmail emails due to having an account on linkedin when it was hacked, and carphonewarehouse when they were hacked, and the makers of the witcher games when they were hacked, and some other websites when they were hacked. when those site stored the passwords as plaintext, instead of encrypted.
  2. i get these emails, but I don't have a webcam, so they are obviously not recording anything, the way they know you read the email is usually a white dot hosted on a hacked website that is in the email the software on the hacked website knows when the image has been accessed, but not by who, if you've got your email set to block images, then the dot in the email doesn't work.
  3. slightly off topic I find it strange that tesla could get his wireless electricity to work over several miles but current scientists can't get it to go beyond 9 metre's. in his invensions part of the electricity seems to go through the ground, using the ground as part of the circuit, while today everything gets earthed to the ground instead, and the ground isn't counted as part of the circuit. his test for wireless electricity was to insert light bulbs into the ground and then illuminate them with electricity from 2 miles away.
  4. thief 4 isn't really related to the other three games except by name alone. it got broken when they who made it broke the storyline. although there are places in the real world where creatures thought long extinct still exist. so who can say if the beastmen went extinct, or they moved somewhere deeper into the forest where no one goes, or dares to go, pagans may have gone with them. hammerites may have set up an enclave somewhere in the thief world where the baron couldn't touch them and then wait around for him to drop dead or get done in by someone or some group that didn't like him, or die of some sexual desease like syphilis. the city probably got nuked from orbit by an invading race of alien rabbit people.
  5. that 2nd image also has a barometer at the bottom under the thermometer, mercury has been found in egyptian tombs dating from 1500bc, so you could have medieval thermometers, although I have a alcohol based thermometer for mesuring very low tempertures, alcohol has been around a long time so you can have both.
  6. after teaching that girl everything he knew, that glyph on his hand starts to itch, he scratches it, it explodes, he become the star consolation 'The Thief'. always hidden in the moonlight and only visible on moonless nights. so that the immortal thief will always shine down on those that hide in the shadows.
  7. thief 1 maps are as messy as hell you can see where they added stuff then hid it behind other brushes in case they decided to go back and re-add it. Dromed allows you to step through the brushes in the order they were added.
  8. grass is too long, a manor house would have it trimmed, and forest grass doesn't get that high due to lack of sunlight due to tree cover, and deer and other animals eating it, plus trees suck all the moisture out of the ground so you are more likely to get hardy plants like ferns, moss, mushrooms, brambles, nettles. that smoke particle effect isn't random, its the same effect everytime. the water in the underground submarine base wouldn't act like that. arrows shot into water do not produce a vertical splash, you get that from dropping a stone into water, arrows are aerodynamic so they would enter the water at an angle and produce very little spash angled along the shaft of the arrow. pretty sure the glow sticks from thief 2 were a cold heat and couldn't be used to light a candle.
  9. in some windows 10 updates, after logging into windows and before the anti-virus starts, windows 10 auto loads windows edge even if its not set as default browser and loads up a web page full of flash based adverts to tell you about the current new features. its like who gave permission to load those maybe malware infected adverts.
  10. the only legal way you could remake/reboot Thief 1 & 2 maps on TDM is if you were approached by Square Enix to do so, not the other way around eg make them then try to get permission.
  11. the only problem i see is the makers of skyrim and half life 2 are games companies that are still around while thief makers looking glass studio's are not so their ip is held by a business whos' sole interest is to make money anyway they can even if its less than a dollar. so for Valve and Bethesda they have more interest in people making remakes of their games because they don't have too, they don't have to fork out to do it while square enix will probably see a dark mod version of thief 1 and 2 as someone stealing money from them even more so if its free, as they will lose money from sales of thief 1 & 2 even if its only a dollar, 1 million sales at 1 dollar a unit is 1 million dollars.
  12. they still have email access to people they know on the forum so technical support and feedback could always be done via a 3rd party.
  13. wait for trigger is there, else it gets triggered when map loads into the engine. it might be because they also have a delay option and its set to 0 seconds. so it triggers after a delay of zero seconds, unless its told to wait to be triggered.
  14. at least 80 percent of my games don't run on Linux, plus Microsoft no longer sees Linux as a rival, which usually means they own shares in it.
  15. windows 10 only lets you have one restore point, although you can make one on a 16gb memory stick, but only one per stick.
  16. current map am woking on has a lot of pipes you can climb up/down but testing goes, oops used wrong pipe and fell to my death. in finished map there will be zombies wandering around on the ground, so climbing pipes will be the only way to bypass them
  17. just got the 1809 update took 2hrs to download and install and 3 minutes to get windows ready, then 1/2 a hour turning off the new unwanted features. there was no way to block the update to version 1809, it didn't ask if I wanted to download or install it just did it as part of a automated windows update.
  18. blame lazy action scene directors. that first hobbit film was viewable at the cinema in high definition, 48 fps, and imax 3d, and looked and felt like you were there, and not watching a movie.
  19. the computer running the universe in the 8th dimention moved the goal posts. some weird quantum maths video on youtube says the universe is virtual, controled by a program running in 8th dimentional space, been running for infinity, had no start or end, and everything has always existed and can't be destroyed.
  20. can take up to 5 minutes of no on screen activity to dmap huge maps, cpu goes to 100% fps goes to 0 (had fraps running once and noticed its capture rate zeroed out for 4 minutes).
  21. welfare system in Great Britain pays more than that on the basic amount you can get per month.
  22. you send your map to a beta tester who also has access to the finished map download server they alter your map, you think its finished, you send your finished map the the person who has access to the download server, they think their map improvements are better than yours, they up load their version of your map, you only find out later on after people have been playing your map that they are not playing your version of your map but someone else's version.
  23. i got windows 10 home version 1803, As far as I could tell it was a critical update, and windows 10 just applies them regardless of what you are doing, the update was for windows defender which i don't use. windows 10 wont update if you are not connected to the internet, so if I was doing a bios update to the computer, the router would be off and not connected.
  24. a lot of those kill other people type games are played by 5 year olds, regardless of it being 18 rated or not its a game, so parents buy it for their kids, or if its free to download then kids just lie about their age. 5 year olds are not in the whole interested in stealth games where they have to use their heads to get around. Thats the market today, plus kids can easily hack their parent credit cards and spend at will because they haven't learnt that its wrong by the age of 5 to do that. There's stories on the news here where kids have gone through all the credit on their parents credit card in less than a month, just to buy skins and dance moves for Fortnite. Then theres that guy on youtube who spent $40000 on World of Tanks. Its these types of people who are willing to spend vast amount of money on polygons and stats that make game publishers stick microtransaction into games.
  25. blood pools can be cleared up with a water arrow.as far as I know, thats if you have any spare, or left.
