  1. That'd be cool. I'd be happy to host it on my site until a proper release for anyone else who wants to use it, if needed.
  2. I think there's a problem with the clocktower gargoyles as well. They clearly have a texture in the editor (though none show up in the surface inspector), but ingame they are black.
  3. Missing both ingame and in the editor.
  4. No, they're missing in the game. Unless they're pitch black, illuminated or not.
  5. No they don't appear ingame. It's a large outdoor area without any visportals, so that could probably be it. The textures that are missing are on the clocktower prefab.
  6. How do I resolve problems with missing textures when dmapping?
  7. Oh dear. Seems I ignited a new contest discussion. I have no delusion of actually winning this, but I shall step down if anyone asks me to. But some people are better at planning and visualizing things in their heads than I am. I use DR for this purpose. So while I concider what I'm working on now a draft, I'm obviously working on something that's intended for an entry to a contest. But it could also be released outside the contest as it ties in with the main story line of something I'm working on. This contest opened up the doors to my protagonists past, something I have to keep exploring as it is deeply intriguing.
  8. Sorry. If it's a problem I'll of course refrain from entering the contest. But this is a little too strong to be stopped at the moment. Creative juices are flowing. No, not that kind of creative juice...
  9. I've started to map a little bit. Hope it's okay, cause it's damn fun. Thanks for starting this, nbohr... So many cool ideas.
  10. Whad'ya know... it works now. Guess it's got something to do with how the planets are aligned at certain times. Yep, that's probably it.
  11. Vista does appear in the boot menu and it does attempt to boot. It just won't get very far before locking up.
  12. I've poked my freakin' nose where it doesen't belong again... I tried to install ubuntu 10.10 alongside my Vista installation using Wubi. Now Vista won't boot. The installation couldn't be repaired either so I restored it to a point before Ubuntu. Now I can't uninstall ubuntu, or boot Vista. Some would argue that this is a good thing, but not for me as I require access to windows for a lot of things. Any tips?
  13. @ Baddcog: Thanks. I'll check out that particle thingy. @ Serpentine: Wow. That demo would be great! @Springheel: No idea what you're talking about, but it sounds super awesome! My god! I just had an epiphany of what this mission is about. It's great. Thanks nbohr1more for setting these gears in motion.
  14. Yes... Working with ideas for that Seasons contest. Nothing solid, yet. But I remembered how magical winter was when I was a kid. Seeing how the snow glitters in the light of the streetlamps. Pretending it was the stuff dreams were made of. And I was wondering if there is a way to simulate that glittering effect on snow textured surfaces when illuminated. And also if it would work to replace the rain/snow with falling leaves, and if so... how?
  15. I am in... maybe. I'm a little all over the place right now it would seem- so I can't make any promises.
  16. I assume there's a certain element of "open for interpretation" here. And I think it should be, because that opens up a whole bunch of creative avenues. How do I implement this concept into my map? I would think that most of us look for a challenge rather than throw in some snow patches or lush green fields and leave it at that. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this, if it is left up to the author how to implement the seasons concept rather than give them a bunch of guidelines.
  17. "Woe to you, Oh Earth and Sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short...

Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast for it is a human number, its number is Six hundred and sixty-six" \m/

  18. Do it! Do it now! Love that classic it never gets old.
  19. Okay then. Count me in. But I'm gonna' need a lot of assistance.
  20. Perhaps I should enter? The worst thing that could happen is total humiliation, which I'm fairly used to anyway. I gather I can't be sued or anything if it turns out I can't meet the deadline and have to step down?
  21. Perhaps a vote on the actual theme of the contest introduced too many individual ideas and opinions from the start. I can only speak for myself, but I started creating a map in my head to go with my favourite theme when the vote was going, and I registered a slight disappointment when it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Perhaps this phenomenon is real for others as well, and interest gradually wanes. The crowd splits and returns to everyday lives after the execution. "Nothing more to see here." I'd love to enter even though I didn't get my Dark Secrets, but at this point I feel I am simply too unexperienced to provide any quality mission within the time limit. Mapping and atmosphere is one thing, introducing challenging gameplay is another.
