  1. About the deadline on thursday. Which time is the official dead line? I guess it's GMT +-0, in England and the whole day so it's ok if the mission hits the forums at about 06.00 pm BikerDude-time? (Which means about 07.00 pm Fieldmedic time )
  2. Yes, it didn't take much combining before I was back on track again...

I have done a lot f_s-ing since I released that version though, but there are places that can be optimized...the thing is that combining f_ss is not very good as it splits the thing up in lots more tris than dividing them into several f_ss does. But of course I've started to do this in several places as it seems I've got no choice...

  6. It was this text from the wiki that got me thinking: "It's possible to raise the entity limit in the SDK further, but usually we won't do that until it's absolutely necessary. Some of the biggest maps have currently in the range of 4000..5000 entities, and this is already pushing the boundaries in terms of memory and CPU - spawning entities costs, time, too."

I get this error when trying to start my current map...I can dmap it but it crashes to the menu upon trying to start the map... idCollisionModelManagerLocal::LoadModel: no free slots I have currently 7736 entities and according to the wiki: "So keep your entities well below 7000 or even 6000." Does this mean I've got to remove entities or is it possible to raise the roof in this case...?

      Performed a tandem jump yesterday and got totally hooked. It's like noclip :) (Too bad you cannot noclip through the ground :D )

Something tells me that the finlandiers upcoming missions will start (even more) to kick ass, 'cause if he starts to get the hang of producing unique and intriquate models like these, he will start creating places that distinguish from the ordinary "I've seen this table/chair/lamp before" and ...damn, I need to keep up!
  10. That was a new insight for me. Didn't know you could use the worldspawn like that. Regarding the original question, I would have used a script that killed the AI. Put it in void main... Question: I have problems with the command that starts another script thread. I just can't get this thread-command to work. thread <scriptobject>(); I get around the problem by using sys.trigger on those atdm:call_scriptfunction yellow boxes but it feels silly to use a script to trigger an entity in the map so I can fire of a new script...will post the exact error I get in the console, when I get home from work...

  15. It's useful to be able to clean the inventory from clutter, especially in this case where there are LOTS of keys...
  16. Sorry my incompetence, but how do I do that? Yes, the keys shall open the same door.

  18. In my currnent mission there will be a lot of the same keys and thus, they are stackable and will be droppable. But I found that when I drop my stacked keys, they revert to be called 'ornate key' in this instance...and that key don't open any doors and is NOT droppable...
  19. How much impact on the tris count is all that softening up?
  20. Why do I allways go for the most intricate solutions...? Because to promote replayability!

  21. The wonderful feeling when the map refuses to start because it is stumped by things in the script that has been there THE WHOLE TIME without problems before!

      So I've got no idea why those trivial things messed with me...I could have spared me some anger if the game had just told me that something IN THE MAP was the cause...

      I sometimes get paranoid that I have something off screen accidentally highlighted and inadvertently move or delete it. Is there a way to dump a log of all DR changes to find what's different? I guess another thing you could do is run the new & old .map files through a "find differences" text tool.

  22. If you can see the streets through the windows, the engine renders the whole street outside (at least as much as you have portalled for). Every portal that leads out on the streets opens...You can add a skyportal behind the window but if the window faces a section that you can inspect (you can go there) it won't make much sense as the view from the windows aren't the same as when you move out...
  23. Yes, but I thought it would be more smooth to use the same team as me, so I don't have to print it every start...
  24. The game crashed when I changed team on the AI to 0 for debugging resons. This is just a temporary guy that I use and move around to test the paths...May be because he was dropped inside a room where another guy was spawned and they didn't like each other...
