  1. Okay, I'm willing to defer to you regarding those, if it comes down to it. However, I've got one last trick up my sleeve: http://goo.gl/photos/67BdT3UUkwTWYK429 This one's mostly the njob original, with the main difference being that I've slightly relit the bits of peeling paint so that they look more like they're above the stone rather that recessed into it. Give it a whirl and tell me what you think. If you still prefer the original, we'll say no more of it. I'll see what I can do about the window.
  2. No problem, looking forward to seeing these in action!
  3. Smooth-ish, sure, I'll drink to that, I just can't see that type of stone blocks undulating in quite such a spongy way. I'm willing to revise it further when we hear back from you, Melan.
  4. My tenth batch. http://goo.gl/photos/Wo16NHCaMhqJsATv8 Some notes: blocks_tealblue_peeling_local is a remake of a remake. While the normal map shouldn't look extremely bulging yet soft as if made of some kind of foam (a common problem with njob normals), neither should it be quite as flat and rough as my first take. I think this one is now very close to an optimal match for the source material. Please make sure you replace the earlier attempt with this. The maiden normal seemed to have the lighting directions put in the wrong color channels. I fixed that, also toned down some really ropey jpeg artifacts(?!). Futhermore, the diffuse is an uncompressed 4mb tga, should maybe do something about that. The more detailed water rings - I'd prefer this one not be run through the DXT Mangle if at all possible. It's only 128x128 in any case.
  5. There is now! The black texture is hair for the moor lady.
  6. The resources are definitely spread around a bit all over the place, I'll tell you that twice. When making the female moor skin I was scratching my head for ages trying to find the female hand texture to use as reference. Turns out it was in the guard pk4, even though there are no female guards in TDM as far as I'm aware.
  7. Some more variation for female characters; black wench, older white wench, old noblewoman based on Dame Judi Dench. http://goo.gl/photos/QzUvicYW8BqGQmfo8
  8. From my other thread: I made them in Photoshop - if you've got an editor that lets you edit RGB channels separately, normal maps aren't very hard to figure out. They tile seamlessly on the vertical axis, and the seams between the strips are just how that wallpaper was put up.
  9. A bit unnecessarily complicated for the desired effect, then. Shame, might as well do color variations the old fashioned way. Took a break from sorting through the Croatia stuff to donate some old stuff from my vault. http://goo.gl/photos/WFLJJ7dye6EoQzVL9 Enjoy! Or don't, whichever pleases the ladies and gentlemen.
  10. Still going strong. http://goo.gl/photos/fopFfQBdTbPBTAp67 For those wondering about the specular map, the only change was removing a resizing artifact around the edges of it that was causing the texture it's affiliated with to have visible seams in many lighting conditions. Been bothering me in several missions it's been used in.
  11. ...ok, now I'm tempted to make an actual knob grafitti texture. Obligatory flying droplets included, naturally. Now how's that for a secret symbol. The player searches for super important, super serious secrets, and the special colored light reveals... obscene doodles.
  12. Question: does TDM support tint maps? That is, images that allow different parts of a texture it's affiliated with to be effected gradually by tinting, or is tinting in TDM "all or nothing"?
  13. I made alphas for some of these. http://goo.gl/photos/8nT1CqDrhDsCqnoM9 I'm guessing it's a pretty simple matter to make the non-alpha bit an uniform, tintable surface.
  14. More improvements. Mostly tweaked normal maps as per usual, but also one pair of diffuses with baked shadows toned down a bit to let the normals do their thang +one brick wall redone in twice the resolution. http://goo.gl/photos/9SKP6vXkvFV5UJhFA
  15. Hey, no problem, I'm planning to release all the textures that don't get picked up for core as a separate pack anyway. Moar: http://goo.gl/photos/LneUxqSfzxVHssPw6
  16. Batch two: http://goo.gl/photos/8ep4iq7YN3tyrtfC7 Includes something I haven't seen in TDM thus far, namely Thief-style "fake" double doors, for those imaginary areas unreachable by the player. Oh, and there's a cigarette free version of that grate too.
  17. Here's lit diamond windows, some fixed window normal maps and some more stuff from the EP that I like the look of, including C-Beam's brilliant update of the iconic Thief BLUSTN texture. http://goo.gl/photos/9m7j2ezmBHdmbYsr8
  18. Hey, if we can have steam power and electricity, why not some lovely fags? But sure, I'll make a non-smoking version too, no problem.
  19. Didn't die. Here's the first bunch, of MANY more to come: http://goo.gl/photos/wopDg9y6tdnHuyQ59 Feel free to add all, some or none to the core mod resources.
  20. Nah, that's not one of mine. I can make a lit version anyway.
  21. Nah, I tend to move through the streets too fast for that to be practical. Especially here where excursions only stop in the Old Towns and other protected areas for about 45 minutes before moving on to loiter on some beach för 3+ hours (I'd rather it'd be the other way, natch). I keep my camera set to take several shots in quick succession as a fail safe against motion blur.
  22. Gonna travel home and start working on these today. If you never hear from me again, it'll probably be because I've dropped out of the sky in a metal coffin. :S Wish me luck ...or are you not supposed to jinx it? Builder dammit, hard to figure out...
  23. What're you referring to, my conversions or the windows effects? Starting to get a bit cluttered over here. Any chance the thread could be split, o powers that be? EDIT: Thank you verra much.
  24. I think it'd be cool to see something with one of those old timey sliding metal grill doors.
  25. My non-EP textures and the occasional ambient soundtrack will go here. As of writing, I'm currently in Makarska, Croatia, and will return bearing gifts. I'm already confounding my fellow travellers by snapping pictures of random walls and the ground instead of the scenery. Serious dump of all new textures incoming in other words, each with painstakingly made _locals, of course.
