I just got done playing another fan mission right now, no crashes. So, maybe my computer had a little hiccup or something. But I'll still investigate this.

I only played this mission for the 1st time, I'll need to play it again and see if it is a recurring crash at that same exact part of the mission.

In one of the fan missions I was playing. "Briarwood Manor" When I enter the lobby, the game suddenly crashed on me. I saved my game thank god and was able to complete the mission without any more problems, but just wanted to point that out in maybe updating the mission file of getting rid of that bug. It's not my computer since I meet the requirements. Other fan missions work just fine, I tested a few other ones and was able to complete those as well.

I never done this before, but thanks for letting me know. I'm new to level editing and design completely.

How do I customize the uniforms of a guard by changing the color of their clothes if I wanted to create my own mission with a guard type that is specific and create a completely new guard family? For example, Bafford, Ramirez, Constantine guard, etc.

To make any game in general fun to play is to have some sort of challenge to figure out how to solve puzzles and take down enemies at the right time without them seeing you. Otherwise, it's no fun playing the game with unlimited health and easy ways to kill enemies with just one shot. Although this game is more challenging even with adjusting the difficulty settings.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't know you could change the settings during gameplay, only in the main menu.

Sounds great everyone, I totally agree! There are so many options to explore and see what we can do to make it great, this game would not exist without the Thief franchise or the community, I thank the creators and developers for making such a very addicting and fun immersive experience for the 1st 10 years that this game has come to this day, it's only getting better every now and then. Possibly, what if a sequel is up in the horizon for a Dark Mod 2 for the foreseeable future! Imagine this game coming out for video game consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One with realistic graphics and gameplay.

I have a suggestion I like to mention, since the Dark Mod is turning 10 next year, 2009-2019 We can celebrate the game's 10th anniversary with a special fan mission like no other. I don't have any ideas of what I want to create in Dark Radiant, but if anyone has an idea of what can the mission be and look like to make it a great one to celebrate this big milestone!

Thanks for the info, my playstyle for the Dark Mod is playing the game using the Thief Gold and Thief 2 classic styles that gives the Dark Mod a classic feel to the original Thief games.

Yeah, even in the shadows at times, the guards have like super human vision and hearing, but like you said, setting the lowest Al settings through the game options menu can help. So there is no game file to edit in your "Dark Mod" folder. Of course, if you attack a guard in front of him, he will retaliate and will be difficult to defeat him. Have to remember the guards here are similar to the guards in Thief: Deadly Shadows. But I still find this game more challenging than the 3rd Thief game since the guards here are more alert and vigilant.

How do I adjust the Al alertness for the guards and bystanders to not see or hear me at far distances? Yes, even with the settings in the game options menu that I can change the alertness settings, it doesn't quite work well. The alertness is still too high and sensitive and I can't even get close enough to either knock out or instant kill any guard or bystander without alerting them. I want to play the game with a Thief Gold and Thief 2 classic feel to it. Is there a game file in the Dark Mod folder I can edit? Please help, thanks!

Yeah, sadly, unless someone creates a patch for T3Ed which mostly won't happen.

I would think there would be a patch to get T3Ed to work without it's limits on editing and gameplay and have new features installed along with it. But since T3Ed is unsupported by Eidos and Ion Storm, that tells you, it's an unofficial program to use.

Wow, I never thought T3Ed would be so difficult to get it running compared to Dromed which is easy to get it working through T-Fix for Thief Gold or TafferPatcher for Thief 2, but T3Ed seems to have no updates to make it run without the flaws. How disappointing, Thief Deadly Shadows really does have it's limits when it comes to level editing and gameplay. I totally see the bigger picture now. Maybe, it's a good idea to switch over to TDM instead and just install the Thief Sneaky Upgrade patch just so the game is updated to it's latest patch and will reduce glitches and crashes.

Another option is using emulators to run software that can't run on newer computer systems. But what's the point on that? That won't work either. An emulator can only run the actual game and not the game editor.

And that's why I kinda agree it would better to use The Dark Radiant instead of T3Ed, it is quite similar in a way. You say T3Ed is buggy with glitches so I have to agree with you on that one too.

Oh I see, then definitely, for both playing and editing fan missions, TDM is the way to go, I probably should just give up trying to get T3Ed to work and use The Dark Mod's level editor which is called Dark Radiant. It has everything that T3Ed can't handle.

Thank you! I actually have The Dark Mod installed on my computer already though, haha! I'm already ahead of the game. I just want to get T3Ed to work as well so I can edit and play fan missions on TDS like I can do on TDM, this be countless hours of playing nothing but Thief Deadly Shadows and The Dark Mod if you get what I mean.

I totally understand about using TDM more than using the T3Ed editor, people use that more than TDS and besides T3Ed doesn't have very much support to get help from. But it never hurts to try to get it working. It shouldn't be that hard to figure how it works either.

When I click on the Thief 3 editor icon, I get this window that is searching for a file, but I don't know. It wants me to search for a vocabulary file or when I click on all files, and then I click cancel, nothing happens. I have Thief Deadly Shadows installed with the Sneaky Upgrade patch and the level editor installed, I followed directions, but now I'm lost. I hate to redo everything from scratch, but I guess whatever I did wrong, I need better instructions I guess.
