  2. I'm making my models in Blender and trying to export to Dark Radiant.
  3. I'm not finding .lwo export in blender even though it's enabled in plugins. That just leaves me .ase. edit: Ok I found an .lwo exporter. After exporting, texture is still not showing up.
  4. I'm new to modeling in Dark Radiant (using Blender), and having some noob issues. I've exported the model as .ase, model appears as it should but has no texture present. I modified the BITMAP margin in the .ase to the path of the texture (ie: //base\models\darkmod\props\textures\*texture name*). I've browsed countless times through the wiki re-reading everything concerning this general issue with no luck. What other steps am I missing for the texture to show up in the model? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  6. I would appreciate it if you could take a look at it! I've never had my maps properly critiqued. I need to know if I'm going in the right direction.
  7. I have 3 areas that reach 7000-7500 draw. Shadows are an average between 130,000 - 180,000. How can I get that down? I am using your LOD versions, they help immensely!
  8. Thank you. I'm just hoping it will run on majority of computers. I have a 980 ti and I don't have any performance dips just yet.
  9. Thank you, those previous sprites bugged me ! Thanks! I'm trying to use thief 4 as a graphical reference. I love fog because it adds distance, depth and verticality.

  11. I appreciate all the feedback! @bikerdude I'm planning on making it a full mission, Im pacing myself so that I don't burn out too soon. I also hate that haze, @nbohr1more thanks for suggesting a better one!
  12. Thank you! I've mapped for CS:Source and CS:GO for around four years (Hammer editor very closely resembles Dark radiant, so it was only a slight learning curve). I jumped on Dark Radiant around a year ago with many breaks in between.

  14. I will contribute once I'm able to get some off time from work. I will post screenshots very soon! just working around with some touch-ups.
  15. After creating a whole mission with your modules, I don't think I can go back to conventional building again. They look amazing in-game and don't hit performance hard with proper portaling. Build times have decreased by over 75% with little to no effort!
  16. I figured it out, apparently I had unnecessary unused folders included in my .pk4 that seemed to have caused issues (ie: models and textures). after deleting the folders that weren't being used, it launched just fine. Thank you for all your time and help!
  17. I'm not finding the default.cfg file. I don't believe I have ever seen that file anywhere before.
  18. I edited my previous post with the updated log. I can only dump the log when I'm on the first screen after loading the mission. The console won't open when the screen goes black.

  20. Ok, apparently the problem isn't solved. The mission worked fine on my laptop, when trying again on my desktop, I get the same issue. I have tried reinstalling the Dark Mod with no luck either. When deleting the mission from the fms folder and just loading the mission from console, everything works fine as it should. It is only when I make a .pk4 file and load it via new game that I get the black screen when hitting objectives... When I put that .pk4 mission in my laptop, it worked fine... very confusing...
  21. I'm assuming these modules are mostly made for cinematics or the background (area's you cannot reach)? How can one go about optimizing with visportals etc using these assets? I'm just wondering if making my own modules out of brushes would be more beneficial and better for performance in the long run.
  22. I had to copy + paste my map into a new file. Something happened within that file that corrupted my original map files directory? I'm still not quite sure what it was, but it is finally working now... Thanks for all your reply's.
  23. It's a mission I created myself. I ended up moving over my files from my laptop to my desktop, which resulted in that problem.
