  1. That's the purpose, obvisously. And it looks awesome !
  2. Whoops! Someone actually using that little tool? I am baffled and surprised!
  3. Very very nice! And a very nice vertical map layout with a lot of options where and how to proceed. Awesome! Just one question: And a rather annoying bug:
  4. A few minor issues in the list of download URLs: Penny Dreadful 1: The grail of regrets bad URL : protocol reads 'ttp' instead of 'http' ttp://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/penny1_1.pk4Patently Dangerous dead link http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/patently_dangerous_v2.pk4Thomas Porter 3: Glenham Tower dead link http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/glenham.pk4
  5. An issue in the mission database: seems like Requiem received a silent update? The version on taaki's server is slightly bigger and newer than the other two mirrors. Once again I see that the other two references are pointing to the TDM2testmissions folder. I guess the updated version got pushed to the regular missions folder instead. I would recommend to clean up those folders and move the current versions to the regular folder. I don't think that all that stuiff is still under test. 6. Thanks for the tip, Tels! Unfortunately the resulting effect is terrible! Instead of simply providing the data in a 'cleaner' way, the HEAD requests causes the entire PK4 to be downloaded as soon as I try to get the header info. Seems like there must be some more details to this issue. Oh, ... and even after the PK4 was fully downloaded, the file-size was still not to be found anywhere in the response or header. A mystery.
  7. Weird. I wonder what curl is doing different than the Java code I use. swiftmazes is the only server which won't report the Content Length for a mission when doing URLConnection tmpConnection = new URL(url).openConnection(); tmpConnection.getContentLength(); That's why that tool needs to ignore swiftmaze with respect to the checking file sizes... unless I figure out what I am missing. All I get is the following, and digging deeper into possible options and alternatives to modify the behaviour of the URLConnection did not reveal any insights so far either. Transfer-Encoding=[chunked], Keep-Alive=[timeout=5, max=100], null=[HTTP/1.1 200 OK], Server=[Apache/2.2.29], Connection=[Keep-Alive], Date=[Tue, 28 Apr 2015 20:39:33 GMT], Content-Type=[text/html]}The official internal name for "Thief's Den" is now 'thiefsden', as should be the name of the pk4. See http://missions.thedarkmod.com/get_available_missions.php
  8. Stashing the L10N files into some backup-'archive' isn't my primary intention either. But from what I know far more mission received a translation, than the number of mission got actually enabled for L10N. And it still seems like quite a few authors don't want their missions to be touched by anyone else. That's the issue here, I guess. So, moving the unused ones away is just a means to keep the primary directory clean.
  9. As Araneidae reported in the TDM Tech Support forum, several mirrors for "Thief's Den" are outdated. Fidcal : http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/thiefsden.pk4 Southquarter : http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/thiefsden.pk4 Taaki and SwiftMaze seem fine. I still don't understand why L10N files are listed for 'Special Delivery', since they are identical to the actual mission PK4, but that's another story. BTW: version 0.64 of the tool is up. Among other things, it takes account for the fact that filesizes for the SwiftMaze mirror can not be determined at all. So, it's basicly ignored.
  10. Very nice ! Thanks for this fine mission. It was a joyful evening indeed.
  11. Looks pretty interesting! Running around and slaying hords of creatures isn't exactly my cup of tea. But there seems to be a vast variety of creatures and environments around that make me confident I would enjoy it. And some fairly good story-telling... from what I could grasp from that video. And hey, there are pagans! Real PAGANS that did pretty much sound like the ones from the old Thief! Well, my new NVIDIA graphicscard came with a licence for that game. So I am lucky to be able to play it for free as soon as it comes out. Defintely looking forward to it.
  12. Those journalists are neither idiodic nor poorly educated. Not sure what newspaper you are referring to, but the same exists all over the world. The german variant would be the 'BiLD'. They don't sell content, they sell HEADLINES. The more blatant they are, the better the profit it seems. However, I wonder who is buying that sort of crap. We had about 75% and clear sky. However, one would not have noticed all that much, except that it got quite cold. It got just a little bit darker than usual, but that was almost beyond notice. Withoiut googles on would not have seen anything. The total eclipse in 1999 was way better. It was dark as hell !
  13. Thanks for the links! After installing the DirectX SDK (I had the MBCS stuff already) I had to add the includes and lib folders to the dependencies in the Engine project. Didn't find a setting for that. MayaImport still fails (can't find MStat.h), but TheDarkMod.exe gets created. Seems like I do not need VS2010 either for that part.
  14. Oh, I already upgraded to the MSVC 2013 community edition. And I already managed compiled some portion of the code a few weeks ago, but had to correct the path to \win32\lib\Polarssl.lib before I could build the gamex86.dll. Maybe the MFC part slipped my eye, but I am sure there were issues as well even after I had corrected the issue above. Is there anything that needs to be configured? Will have a look into once the reinstall of my system is complete and my new GPU arrived. Right now I am virtually 'blind'.
  15. The official mission list can be found here: http://missions.thedarkmod.com/available_missions.xml Right click on that file and save it to your disk. Then compare the 'internalName' found there against the headings in your local 'tdmmission.info'. Implementing 'Add all' and adding an visual indicator in the UI highlighting missions which have no corresponding info from the official mission list should not be all that difficult. I am tempted to look into it myself and implement the required logic. Someone with the MFC stuff at hand however would need to add the 'Add all' button into the UI code though, since I can not compile that part at all.
  16. Thanks! But that new link is dead. http://darkmod.taaaki.za.net/fms/noag.pk4 Anyway the situation has been improved significantly. At least people don't get the wrong mission.
  17. I know that my previous posts were lengthy, but is there any chance to fix at least this issue`?
  18. Don't hink there is anything wrong on southquarter, apart from the bugs I pointed to. All those l10n files on southquarter are probably result of the internationalization project, which came to a halt. But one should absolutely NOT DELETE them, even if the missions did not get released with them. Better move them to special l10n backup folder.
  19. As far as your question 2 is concerned: I can neither look at fidcal, not at taakis server. However I see the following on southquarter, which did not make it into the mirrors list ever. But I can't tell you WHY they never got added there. http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/ alchemist_l10n.pk4 antr_l10n.pk4 betrayal_l10n.pk4 blackbog_l10n.pk4 claw_l10n.pk4 closemouthed_shadows_l10n.pk4 fauchard_l10n.pk4 flakebridge_l10n.pk4 glenham_tower_l10n.pk4 holetower_l10n.pk4 kneipe24_l10n.pk4 (should read sneak_destroy_l10n.pk4 by noe ?) knighton_manor_l10n.pk4 living_expenses_l10n.pk4 lockdown1_2_1_l10n.pk4 madmountain_l10n.pk4 mandrasola_l10n.pk4 outpost_l10n.pk4 pandoras_box_l10n.pk4 parcel_l10n.pk4 patently_dangerous_l10n.pk4 phrase_book_l10n.pk4 rake_off_l10n.pk4 remembrance_l10n.pk4 ReturnToTheCityV2_l10n.pk4 rift_l10n.pk4 rightful_l10n.pk4 samhain_l10n.pk4 siegeshop_l10n.pk4 somewhere1.1_l10n.pk4 sons_of_baltona_1_l10n.pk4 stalban_l10n.pk4 storm_l10n.pk4 swing_v1_2_l10n.pk4 thecreeps_l10n.pk4 thiefs_den_l10n.pk4 training_mission_l10n.pk4 transaction_l10n.pk4 vfat1_l10n.pk4 winterharvest_l10n.pk4
  20. 1. Sure. 2. No. That's something the tools isn't designed to check. It doesn't care about what is found somewhere on any mirror, but only checks the mission mirrors. If not l10n files are specified there, it won't bother at all. You can right click this link, save the mirror listing directly from the server to disc and inspect it using a text editor. But as a regular player, I do not have access to all mirrors to view the directories. Ok, regarding 1) there are a few issues visible now. PS: I can't tell you how much I hate the forum formatting. Either links appear crumbled and non-readable or the coloring and highlighting is gone. 21. Revisiting my post from last week: The correct versions are here: http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/returntothecityv3.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/returntothecityv3.pk4So, the list of mirrors needs to be corrected. In case some general cleanup would make sense to eradicate the confusion about having regular mission folders for FMs and those irky TDM2testmissions folders, here is a list of all valid & up-to-date FM links from the list of mirrors which still live under TDM2testmissions. Maybe those files should be MOVED to their parent folders and the mirrors list to be updated accordingly. Might make dealing with with future mission updates much easier. http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/antr.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/antr.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/storm.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/storm.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/business3.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/business3.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/closemouthed_shadows.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/closemouthed_shadows.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/crystalgrave2_1.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/crystalgrave2_1.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/crystalgravev2_l10n.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/blackbog.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/blackbog.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/oldhabits1.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/oldhabits1.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/oldhabits2.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/oldhabits2.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/patently_dangerous_v2.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/patently_dangerous_v2.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/requiem.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/requiem.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/samhain.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/samhain.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/flakebridge.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/flakebridge.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/siegeshop.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/siegeshop.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/caduceus.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/caduceus.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/thecreeps.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/thecreeps.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/rift.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/rift.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/glenham.pk4 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/glenham.pk4
  22. @Bikerdude : No change. Maybe check the list of official mirrors below. Are these the urls where the updates went to? I assume not. http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/score_to_settle.pk4 Size: 140593310 Last update: Tue Oct 01 02:23:55 CEST 2013 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/score_to_settle.pk4 Size: 140593310 Last update: Fri Oct 04 23:47:23 CEST 2013 Just guessing where they might have ended up, I found them here instead: http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/score_to_settle.pk4 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/score_to_settle.pk4So the list of mirror urls needs to be updated. Note that the correct links do not contain TDM2testmissions.
  23. Check the size in bytes in brackets (140629143) (140593310). It's just slightly bigger, but far away from being identical although the rounding produces the same value.
  24. Two of the official mirrors have an outdated version. http://darkmod.taaaki.za.net/fms/score_to_settle.pk4 Size: 134.1 MB (140629143) Last update: Wed Feb 25 02:31:24 CET 2015 http://www.fidcal.com/darkuser/missions/TDM2testmissions/score_to_settle.pk4 Size: 134.1 MB (140593310) Last update: Tue Oct 01 02:23:55 CEST 2013 http://www.southquarter.com/tdm/fms/TDM2testmissions/score_to_settle.pk4 Size: 134.1 MB (140593310) Last update: Fri Oct 04 23:47:23 CEST 2013 Edit: in case TDM does not show Version: 2, then people didn't receive the latest version.
