@gokudo Something wrong with the original thread?

Other than the fact that I wasn't aware of its existence before posting, absolutely not. Wasn't aware I was committing a capital offence! Sometimes I just feel the need to do things spontaneously.

  2. Hi all,

So it's finally been released about 7 years after I've backed it....

My impression is that the textures and graphics even tweaked up to the max look terrible. It's very small compared to the average game at under 4gbs which seems to have been made by sacrificing texture/graphic quality. I really can't bring myself to play it due to this. Am I being too judgemental or am I within my rights?

Yes there should be one on top of the desk next to the letter.  It might be easy to miss.  If it's not there, it's either a bug or maybe it's fallen through the desk?  Maybe check inside the desk and/or on the floor...

Alas, I've had another look but no joy. Looks like this may be a bug with having settings set to the max.

  4. Oh man, I screwed this one up bad...Just found what should have been number 1.

I'm sticking to the Thief 1 and 2 missions as they're compatible with the HD pack. Don't really like the deadly shadows engine. Well, my agony is at an end!

Instead of that, you could, in that time period, start learning your own missions and in doing so become more active on the forums, learning from others.

It's also great to understand how things work in the engine, when you play. It might spoil some immersion though..

Or learn to build games with other engines, like Godot for example.

Good point. For the people who have released missions, do you find you still enjoy playing missions as much after you've release one of your own? I kinda imagined that it would sort of be like working in a whiskey distillery. Once you're surrounded by the stuff, do you still look forward to a shot or a couple of fingers at the end of the week?

  6. Might not be the right forum but, As a recovering TDM addict, I thought it'd be useful to call attention to some games that have helped me get past my withdrawal symptoms, at least until the next release!

1.) STALKER Anomaly, Wind of Time, Spatial Anomaly...etc

    2.) Enderal

3.) Aliens Colonial Marines TemplarGFX - still too short!

    4.) Prey

5.) Ruiner - arcadey, but works

6.) Thief 2 - Shadows of the metal age

7.) Deus Ex - GMDX, Nihilum, etc

  7. Finally clocked this. Great mission, but man I had to grind for that loot. Also, that's gotta be the biggest key collection for a mission in TDM. Question is, was there a key to the building to the right of the blacksmith, also was there an entrance somewhere for where that African/Moorish guy is? Looking forward to more missions of this caliber!

  8. Wow! Calling this a "large" mission is the understatement of the year. There's so many layers that I'm surprised that my head hasn't exploded yet. This makes Painter's Wife almost feel like a speedbuild! Love the constant references to Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith. I'm done with the main bit but I feel the need to keep exploring, which is really rare with a lot of the TDM FM's that I've played. Long story short, this has crept right up to my fav missions of all time list. Please keep coming up with more FM's man!
