  1. Hmmm....still crashes even after patching with DDFix. Maybe uninstall and re-install, then patch again?????
  2. Well, it's hard to say. Back when I quit dromeding, I finished the next chapter of Two Fathers, except for some sounds, readables, and the objectives. I kind of feel like I should get that off my desktop and out into the ether before I move on. Not really inspired to release another T2 FM though. Maybe playing around with DR for a bit will motivate me to get rid of old business and move on.
  3. I think this card may do alright for me for a while though. Even with four AI looking around for me and looking at a previously slow spot, I still got 24fps at worst. A movie is only 28 fps.
  4. OK, I installed the drivers anyway. Now where I had 4 to 6 fps, I'm getting 20 to 28 fps, and looking in the corner where I had 24 or so, I have 68fps. However, after changing to the 400W supply I needed to reseat my wirless adapter into another slot to get internet back. Now, another problem, my sound is no longer working. Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices says I have no audio device. I never had a card. It's integrated AC97 Audio Codec • Realtek ALC658 . How do I get it back? EDIT: I went to the HP site and tried re-installing the Realtek software, but it didn't help. Another problem, DeusEx is running OK, TDM is running OK, Drakan: OOTF is running OK, but now T2 is crashing. EDIT #2: Well, about the audio, never mind about that one. I googled but found no solution. So, of course, I checked the first thing last. I went into BIOS. The onboard audio was set to AUTO, which as far as I know should be fine, but maybe reseating cards changed something. Anyhoooo.... I tabbed through and set it to Enabled, then re-booted. Audio is back. However the T2 crash problem remains. Is it maybe something that could be fixed by DDfix? Sorry that this thread slowly wandered away from TDM questions to a T2 problem. All this because of changing a vid card. Dark circles under my eyes. I hate computers.......
  5. XP told me not to continue with installing the drivers because they haven't been Logo tested and it could mess up the operation of my computer now or in the future. What should I do?
  6. Well, with the rebate it's about 80 bucks, but the PCIe version has so many different companies using the card it depends on what brand you buy. The price depending on what tweak of the Radeon HD 4650 PCIe you buy ranges from 63 bucks to 188 bucks. I got the XFX version, and it's PCIe counterpart from the same supplier is 75 bucks, but no rebate is being offered. I guess I hit a little serendipity spot there. Addendum: Hey, BTW, I don't have Catalyst installed on my comp, just the ATI Display Driver. When I get my new card and install the new driver before putting the card in the slot, will it cause problems if I don't uninstall this display driver? Should I uninstall this display driver, install the new display driver, then shut down and change cards? Or is leaving the old driver until later no big deal?
  7. The ATI HD 4650. It's being shipped from the U.S. I should get it in another day or two.
  8. Yes, AluminumHaste warned me that a vid card in itself may not help much for that very reason. He ultimately suggested just getting a new rig. I'm just giving this a shot. I haven't got my shipment yet though, hopefully tomorrow.
  9. No problem, but it may take me a while. AluminumHaste suggested I play them in order to get a feel for the game and at the same time see the progressive improvements in editing.
  10. I made a mistake in my original post. The 9000 is only 64Mb. Anyway, I ordered the HD 4650. With the rebate it's only 80 bucks, and like I said I have a 400W PSU in another rig. Even if it doesn't help, at least it's only 80 bucks to find out.
  11. I checked one of my old rigs, and it has a Dynex 400W power supply, so if a card recommends it, I guess I could switch out the 250W in this rig for that one. Are Dynex OK? Here are the cards I'm looking at.... http://www.tigerdire...&Sort=0&Recs=10 And this is the one AluminumHaste (in his Haste, he forgot the "i" in Aluminium, hence, I guess AluminumHaste) is liking..... http://www.tigerdire...6197&CatId=2234 I'd be OK if the Dynex is an OK power supply. Note if you click the "more info" button, one of the specs is minimum wattage for the power supply. This one recommends 400W. Maybe get one of the GeForce? I've casually read here and there that there are some issues with ATI and the mod.
  12. Are OCX power supplies considered reliable? How about ULTRA? Corsair? Because there are some decent deals on them right now.
  13. I'm looking at $100.00 or less for an upgrade to my AGP card, plus I'd get a new power supply. My current supply is only 250W.
  14. I'm getting 6 frames per second, maybe 24 if I walk into a corner and stare at a wall. AluminumHaste recommends I get a new rig presario, AMD Athlon 3400+, 1.81Gig processor, XP SP3, ATI 9000 Pro 128Mb vid It just ain't cutting it. If I get another rig, what would you recommend as a safe minimum set of specs? OOPS: sorry.......forgot. 2 gig 'o ram. And yes, AGP 2.0
  15. Hello friends, I received that PM from Melan today. I just registered to say yes, I would be willing to do voices. I'd prefer if someone could clean the sound when I'm done and convert them to whatever file the Dark Mod uses, I'm not familiar. I don't mind if it involves multiple lines. I've done it before, and I realize it involves grunts, sneezes, coughs, mumbles, etc., as well as different alert levels, etc. If this is needed/desired from me, no problem. However, I'm not ever on this board, so you can notify me at my username AT hotmail, or a PM at TTLG. What I would do is only three to five lines at first, send them back to you, make sure the voice style is what you pictured, get your OK, and then do all the hundreds of lines.
