  1. IT'S ALIVE!! *ahem*. Yes, Somewhere Above the City has now successfully loaded, and I'm off to enjoy myself in it. Thank you SO much, Grayman! I wish this issue had also been the culprit for the other two, but I greatly appreciate the time spent to figure out what was wrong with yours. Cheers! (Edit: *looks over at computer case* I just have to say....a table? All this fuss over a table? *stares at case long and hard* A table. Really. Ooookay, I think I'll rename you from ShazBot to Nutcase. Ai yi.)
  2. 107, 108, and 109 crashed; 110 dmapped fine.
  3. 104 and 106 dmapped fine, 105 had the typical FGTJ crash.
  4. Hrm...ok, maybe I made a mistake the first time I dmapped 103, because this time it went through successfully...twice. Maybe I did 102 twice the first time, oops... So, here's 102 (dmap v verboseEntities), since that's the only one crashing now. qconsole102.txt
  5. Both 102 and 103 have the same FGTJ crash. Since they're both part of somewhere101, I just have that log attached, but I'll gladly add 102 and 103 if you wish...if 101 even shows anything, aside from the fact it deadends at FGTJ, too. qconsole101.txt
  6. Absolutely more than willing, for as long as you folks can stand to poke at it. logFile 2 enabled. dmap v somewhere100 - successful, though it did pause for a couple of seconds at FGTJ before finishing. Exited TDM, saved the qconsole.log of this, in case it's needed and in case it should be separate from the next one. Reloaded, entered logFile 2 again. dmap v somewhere101 - crash at FGTJ. Exited and saved this qconsole as well. I'm not permitted to upload the .logs as attachments. Do they work the same if renamed as .txts, or should I find a place to upload them elsewhere (if they're wanted)?
  7. Tried it, but still nothing printed out past FGTJ.
  8. Ok, I wasn't exactly sure how I should use the commands or if there was any particular order, but I did try: dmap noTJunc somewhere5a and dmap somewhere5a noTJunc (didn't know if order mattered) and both got me the exact same crash (same place/time etc.) as plain 'dmap somewhere5a' does... right at 'FixGlobalTJunctions'. Am I doing it right?
  9. Mortem: Sometimes it's instantaneous, sometimes it pauses for a second or three before crashing, if you mean during dmapping. It's hard to tell if it's 'hanging', though, since it will frequently pause for a second or two as it initiates various commands. Aida: Is there some way I should use that?
  10. 8GB, Windows7 64bit. What do you mean by swap configured?
  11. Aida, believe me, I've cursed far worse than that over this! Reading your diatribe was rather cathartic, though. The only thing Windows does is direct me to ID with the 'We have no idea what your problem is, perhaps you can find an answer there'. Yeah, as if that'll be helpful when I don't even know what the blasted problem IS! Aaaargh.
  12. I just want to say 'Thanks!' to all of you trying to help figure out what the problem is. While it really sucks that I can't play all the missions, and I can only hope that this problem stays limited, I'm also happy that I seem to be (and will hopefully remain) the only one suffering from this. TDM is just so fantastic, I will enjoy playing every FM I possibly can with it. So, thanks for all the work, even if we wind up able to do nothing more than scratch our heads over this issue.
  13. Yes, I've played all those maps just fine. The only FM listed on the wiki that I have not loaded is Swing, because I am very easily prone to vicious motion sickness. All others I've played, and most I've completed. The 3 I listed are the only ones out of the list (barring Swing, as mentioned) that I haven't been able to load into. A condump won't be possible after a crashed dmap, then, since I can't do anything but shut the game down when it locks up. Sorry about that, I'm new to this kinda thing. Just in case it's helpful, here's a picture of what I see when the game crashes/locks up. This was dmapping somewhere5a.
  14. I'm not sure why the condump showed nothing about the somewhere5a map. I hope I'm doing it all correctly: Started TDM. At Menu screen, opened console, did 'condump somewhere' then 'dmap somewhere5a'. Is that correct? When I get the crash, it's just your normal small Windows popup 'Doom3 has stopped working'. TDM is visible behind this popup, but nothing's happening (it's how I was able to type the last visible lines from the dmap earlier). I click on the popup, and TDM closes. Nothing else. Regarding the wornlarge and yellowwarp maps...both of those dmapped fine.
  15. I don't know if this condump will show anything. I got the crash at the same point on somewhere5a- whenever it hits FGTJ. My TDM is definitely up to date. I ran the updater several times, and then I have updated it at each individual mirror one by one, but none of the mirrors downloaded any files. somewhere.txt
  16. somewhere4 dmapped fine somewhere5 crashed at Fixing Global Tjunctions (I don't know if there were any degenerate tris, it crashed as soon as it displayed the FGTJ line) somewhere6 dmapped fine (and I did catch a flash of a few degenerate tris getting fixed, so it looks like they don't always crash me) somewhere7 dmapped fine Would doing a conDump be helpful at all?
  17. Same crash. ......FixGlobalTjunctions...... removed 2 degenerate triangles removed 4 degenerate triangles and *crash* Doom3 has stopped working.
  18. Okay! I dmapped somewhere1 successfully. During the dmap of somewhere2, I got the same crash I've been getting (Doom3 has stopped working) at the 'removing degenerate triangles' part (same spot I crashed while dmapping Rift).
  19. *snicker* You forgot I was a she already, Baddcog! Yeah I know this is quite odd, since I can't get into these 3 missions at all. I didn't think it was the maps, since, as you said, no one else was reporting issues. It's just some random weird off thing with my computer or settings that won't let them run. I just don't really know where to begin at figuring out what the problem is.
  20. Did the delete and reinstall of TDM...still same issue. Fiddle with sound settings? What should I do there? And yeah..this is quite a mystery. I'm prone to being a victim of such things, sorry. Thanks for trying to help me figure this out!
  21. Tried each of the mirrors one by one... none of them downloaded any files.
  22. Ok, I've commented out all but the lowest-weighted mirror, but I need a bit more detail here. Once I've done this, do I run tdmupdater? and if so, explain the command line change. That's something I've never really done much before. And no worries, Baddcog, didn't feel any sexism anywhere, it was just an incorrect guess as to which gender I was.
  23. I hope so. I'll keep running any and every test anyone thinks might possibly point out the culprit, but I'm just glad I can play the majority of the FMs out there. I just hope this problem remains something that only affects the minority of FMs for me. And don't worry about the 'he' thing. In the decades I've been a gamer, I've become accustomed to it (though I can't ever stop myself from correcting, since some still subscribe to the 'girls don't game!' mentality).
  24. Okay, putting rift.map in a maps folder in the darkmod folder allowed the 'dmap rift' command to function. Problem, though... after it has 'removed degenerate triangles' a few imes, Doom3 crashes, with the same 'Doom3 has stopped working' popup. It has done this at the same point three times in a row now. (psst...I'm a she, ..oh, and I got quite a laugh out of your run-on-sentence ETA, it ran on in the same method my brain tends to )
  25. Okay...I'm still getting the same thing. rift.map is all by its lonesome as C:\Games\Doom3\rift.map and yet I still get WARNING: Couldn't load map file: 'maps/rift' when I do ' dmap rift ' in the console.
