Another reason why I'm staying clear of politics, is that it often leads to bitter arguments and feuds, and violence. In South American countries, talking politics with your neighbor, could lead to him fetching his gun from the kitchen countertop and killing you. People are very passionate about what's fascism and what's not. It's also something that I've seen mods here warn users against before, in the interest of maintaining a friendly atmosphere where people cooperate. I understand that speaking out and influencing, is the whole point for an idealist, but perhaps there are better places for it, even on the internet.

The scores get even weirder on my second try: I got "Suspicions 1" at first, for several seconds, and then Searches went up to 1 too. ...but then Searches and Score, went down to zero again. ...so this probably means that ghosting players can be seen in levels, and still get a zero score if they're lucky, if these are the values they're based on. Are you sure that "numberTimesAISearched" isn't actually treated like it should be named "flagIsCurrentlySearching"? (There is no way to complete my custom level yet. This is just what I'm observing in the custom loot bar.) Update These scores are just going up and down all the time, and often they settle at all zeroes after a while! ...and no matter how I try, I can't get a single Sighting score! ...at least in my special level where everything is pitch black, and the lantern (and the glowing marble walls) is the only lightsource. She will act as if she does see me, but the score won't count that as an actual sighting. If you need it for bugtesting, I can attach this map to a post, but only if you need it for bugtesting. Update It's funny when I read through this page, and just see lots of disbelief. As usual I have to be the one to tell you that something is seriously wrong here, and that you should look into it - at least bother to take a glance at what Araneidae is telling you. This invalidates ghost scores that people worked really hard to get.

Yes, if used correctly, and responsibly, the internet can be a great tool, but how many of us are responsible? Even adults, are just using it for cat videos and games and porn and internet friends. We live and die in front of our computers. Is this something that we want children to be part of? I'm not saying that the internet is good or bad, because as you can probably tell, you (or at least I) can't make a blanket statement like that. No matter what is decided politically, if I had a kid, I'd teach him how to sow potatoes, and then we'd sow potatoes. (Well, actually, I don't eat potatoes, and neither would he, but whatever.) We can still go to the store and buy sowing potatoes, without using the internet. There is so much that you can do when you're not in front of the internet. I'm not saying that you're wrong, or right. I just don't understand what you're saying, and I'm sorry. I talk too much. I spend too much time on the internet too.

Okay, I'm testing the bug now. I am jumping around in front of a woman on a far up balcony, sporting a lantern so that she can see me. I briefly got a "1" on Searches, but half a second later it went down to "0" again! ...and even though the lady is then screaming for somebody to save her, and I'm making as much noises-in-the-dark for her as possible, there is no alert, and all my ghost stats remain at 0. ...so something is removing searches from the "numberTimesAISearched" variable! Of course my level is a little special. (There is no inside or outside of it, according to the engine, so it's probably just one massive leak - lol.)

Edit: Never mind, it's probably "loot stealth stats" that I just downloaded. That image, what addon is that? I say this after having downloaded kcghost's script, completely reworked it so that it works, and then downloaded Dragofer's script, and only gotten presented with a scroll in the top left. I want that addon in that image, discrete, and down in the bottom right. Who made that? Where can I download it? I've been searching like a madman for that addon for hours.

Oh. I apologize. I mistook you for a 20-something youth with the time available to build a political career. I guess my own stance comes from being used to fascism. They once raided my home, and took me and interrogated me, and it was all very friendly, but I knew that few people made it out of their prison cells alive, and that there was no witnesses around if the interrogator would decide to beat me a little. ...and so I was very clever, and they let me go, and I survived that day. To me that's just life: You don't make waves, so that the government won't come for you, and then you live, and that's "politics" to me. If they'd decide to take my internet, I don't need it to live. It'll be gone soon enough anyway, along with the power and the food and the law, and all that shit. That's why I train when I'm not mapping. That's what I care about.

I really don't understand what you're talking about, but at least you seem to agree that we're not living in a complete idiocracy. I've heard all of this bitter jargon before, though, from a lot of pseudo-political people. Has it ever occured to you that you might be the one who's been brainwashed into thinking what you're thinking about politicians? ...and into thinking that you can't simply walk into one of the political offices and ask to join up at the entry level? It will take abandoning your comfortable internet lifestyle, of course, and actually working to make a change, instead of just slouching in your couch and being passively outraged. Just as these "stupid" people have built this child-worshipping outrage culture, you can start some sort of child emancipation movement, if what you really want is the giant "I gender-identify has a female rabbit anime avatar who gets aroused by kneecap slapping Sonic." identity crisis that I see as an inevitable consequence of allowing children access to everything on the internet. I am of the political opinion that if these children don't learn how to sow potatoes, or learn how to eviscerate a cadaver properly, right the f*** now, they might starve to death very soon, and they can't sow potatoes on the internet. I don't know - I've seen some pretty idiotic people on YouTube trying to make political careers, and usually they need lawyers just to keep themselves out of prison. Every week they make their fringe political live streams, and all they amount to, is Alex Jones at best. Alex Jones is the sane man among them. I think the main difference is that politicians don't play computer games. Edit: I mean I have seen things. There's this guy, still up on YouTube, who talks about the kabbalah, and numerology, and how he's some incarnation of a US founding father, and it all amounts to him showing his penis, in most videos. He's written a book, about how his penis is the chosen penis, and so he just shows his penis in his book. ...and that guy is pretty far from political office, let me tell you. You underestimate the stupidity of the common man.

Time for another trolly quality image. While waiting for the 3.1.0 update to arrive, I figured I'd make a new map. There are no typical lights in this map. Instead I textured everything in glowing marble. If you squint really hard, you can make out a noblewoman on a balcony. She's pitch black and can't see a thing, but she still panics when she hears your footsteps. Maybe this map is a comment on racism or something - I dunno. I'll keep doodling on it.

After upgrading to Dark Radiant 3.0.0, I'm still getting this issue. I've also discovered that it's not just the 3D view that freezes. If I move the window over to one of the orthographic views (making that view the background for the Surface Inspector window when I close it), then that view freezes too, in the same manner. ...so it's obviously the window focus not transfering automatically when this window (or these windows) is closed.

It's too late for that. Maybe if you have a high education and a steady job, you can leave for another country, but if you just hang on the internet all day, then they're going to direct you to the back of the line, and you will discover that it is a very, very long line at this point, full of highly educated people coming from Ukraine, and people who don't want to be cooked to death down in India, and basically half the world is now risking their lives on little ocean crossing dingies, trying to move to everywhere except Africa. ...but you're always welcome to try to farm in Africa yourself, I guess, if you don't like your current country of residence.

No, sorry, it's my own private gem, tailored to my personal "quick access tastes". It's also written in such a formal style that I don't think you'd be fond of it. I'm fond of sterile and dead things. People tend to be creeped out by that.

Yeah, some of my patches are actually "feature-complete", but others - like the mage legs - just look ridiculous. "Getting access to the Wiki isn't straightforward either." Oh, so the wiki isn't something that "anyone can contribute to"? The wiki that's just full of spelling errors and greetings to other contributors and just triplets of obsolete tutorials... This made me clutch my head and yell. In any case, I refuse to deal with it. I've actually written my very own Dark Mod manual, and that's the only thing I need to consult, and it took a couple of weeks to write it, but I'm glad I did.

My patches aren't normal contributions. They're temporary bandaids. I'm stopping them both because I'd rather be doing something else and because nobody's listening. It's not something I like doing. It's just something that's necessary for me to enjoy mapping. I'd like to be able to go to the console to see if my mapping works. ...but I can't do that if there are huge red console warnings cluttering up the page. I feel like knowing how to verify things in the console, should be part of the contribution process. If you don't know how to even do that, then don't contribute. That's why I don't start committing to github and call myself a dev: Because I don't yet know all the basic dev stuff, and I don't pretend that I do. ...and I don't want to start working on the wiki, because wiki work really scares me. I have worked on a wiki before, for a year or two, and I ended up getting so overheaped with work that I left that wiki in a worse mess than I started with. I took on maybe fifty tasks and just broke mentally. ...so I can't do that. You do it. I'm staying clear of the Dark Mod wiki no matter how many crazy things I see there.

I'm expecting you to check if your work breaks stuff before you upload it, at the very least. That's what normal, responsible people do, in real life. It's not about fixing the current issues, as much as it is not creating new ones through neglect. My fixes aren't magical. They take time and effort to do, and take away time that I'd much rather spend on the mapping that I came here to do, and they aren't even proper fixes half of the time. ...and no matter how many things I fix, this project will be doomed anyway, if people keep on shrugging at if they create console warnings for people. Enabling the console in the config, and beginning to use it, that's something that you can start doing immediately. You don't have to bother with other's issues, but do mind any issues which you've created yourself, because you are the most qualified person to fix those issues. Do not commit broken, unfinished things - that's not a good contribution to a project.

I am making an effort. I am telling you to test your stuff so that I don't have to clean up after you as if I was your mom. ...and the rest is really up to you, and so it's your problem now. ...and I've told you this now, multiple times, and if you don't get it by now, then you're just never going to get it, and so I give up. I not only give up trying to reason with you, but I also give up releasing any more of my patches to you, because apparently you see that as me taking on your responsibilities, and that's the opposite of what I wanted. If all that you gather from my posts, is that "I'm being insulting and abrasive", then I just can't reach you.

As I've explained already, whole numbers being off like that, looked pretty serious. If you found that, and didn't immediately understand what you must have done to cause it, you'd be scared too. My stress levels are now back to normal, which is about five cups of coffee a day.
