For years I`m telling scolars and friends who are interested in games from TDM. Since I can say: "Look! It`s on Steam-GL.", they are more impressed. They say:"Really?I`ve to take a look now." So.Yes.Being on Steam, even in GL obviously puts the game(mod) in the focus of people of which taken this one not so serious before. :D

If we are going to have an influx of new players with all this extra attention, perhaps someone should make a "recommended newbie FMs"-list, so that they start with good & friendly ones.

  3. Would love to build this in TDM - http://vimeo.com/70188581

well we only got locomotives because they changed the angles on the pistons, it is possible to miss that, or you could have religious rhetoric that bans horizontal pistons, or machines that run on tracks.

Where I can learn more about that 2.06 reverb functionality? I really want to use info from "Setting Reverb Data of Rooms (EAX)" wiki article but in other forum topic it was said it don't work...

I installed it on a Venue 8 pro, and I hate it. NONE of my complaints about Windows 8.1 were addressed and now there are bugs like a black screen after waking from sleep. My biggest complaint is the lack of pinch-to-zoom anywhere other than the web browser. At least with auto updates, the display bug will hopefully fix itself, right?

    3. kano

      kano

I upgraded using an ISO that I stuck on a SD card. There were no issues doing the actual upgrade. I would imagine you can upgrade from the ISO on Windows 7 too.

    4. Tarhiel

      Tarhiel

I also downloaded the ISO format, will wait with the upgrade for a year, when most of the ugliest bugs will be squished out.

  7. Watchdogs: Requries Uplay on PC in addition to Steam - WTF, so another game I wont be buying.

I have BF4 installed and play it about once a week. Origin is ballz compared to Steam. I could care less if the program occasionally sends system info pertinent to Origin's operation or a games operation. Most of those things you can turn off in the interface anyway which I do.

    3. Lux

      Lux

You can't be a gamer and not play half the stuff that comes out because it installs some middleware or interface. I want to sample everything. The most annoying IMO is Games for Windows but the Batman games are too much fun not to create a login. When you're done playing the game, just uninstall whatever and be on your way. Paranoia ruins quality of life. Get on with it.

      Obsttorte

It's a nice game. But IMHO Oblivion and Morrowind were far better. The washed out the rpg extremely. And after a while it gets extremely repetitve (like the predecessors).

    3. Baal

      Baal

I agree. I liked Morrowind and (heavily modded) Oblivion. But after playing a "real" RPG (like The Witcher or the Fallouts etc.) I can't go back to this kind of game. They're boring, bland and repetitive in comparison.

    4. SeriousToni

I pretty much liek Skyrim more than Oblivion and Morrowind :x

@Pusianka the other climber was dying, they couldn't tell if the guy was breathing, so there was just nothing they could do.

    3. pusianka

      pusianka

They couldn't tell, doesn't mean he was dead. It means they were unsure. That's the part that bothers me. I tell you watch "Into the thick air" it was a disastrous climb in which almost whole group died but the guy who was left in snow a few times survived. I say it's not human to just leave sb when there is any chance of survival.

Yes, I got it for £1.75 too. And no, it is not really a game, more a piece of artwork in navigable 3D. The graphics are probably the most attractive and realistic I have ever seen.

    3. SiyahParsomen

      SiyahParsomen

well, I got it too on steam summer sales for $2.5 Ultra cheap for an ultra beautiful game.

    4. demagogue

      demagogue

@Jay, I get your point. Dear Esther as an experience itself is like this walk-through poem thing, so it was made the way it needed to be made. My basic point is probably more like, as a longterm fan of IF, I'd hope the development of FP-IF would take a lot more notes from text IF to build gameplay into the storytelling, but yeah that's a different point from appreciating what DE itself was doing.

    3. STiFU

      STiFU

How does it feel playing with that thing? Is it any good?

    4. Bikerdude

      Bikerdude

Need to set aside some time to learn how to create a custom layout, but out of the box its surprisingly playable. One of the biggest things that bugs me in console gaming is horrendously bad mouse-look, the steam controller has a trackpad that is extremely mouse like. It just needs tweaking. So ideally once I have a working config I can upload it to steam for other taffers to use a base.

      jay pettitt

      Hell yes.

Admittedly it's not the pinnacle of human creation (or philosophy) - but there is some attempt at thoughtfulness going on there. Where Mr Shoe Company says 'An Epic Use of an Iconic City' and then goes on to show a car doing 10 minutes of doughnuts in a road the bicycle film does bother to use the landscape to make the film look interesting.

I guess to put it in a semi-selfish and callous but honest way, if I only dealt with people/goods/services that I trust that would be very restricting in a lot of ways. I don't like being spied on, but at the same time the services I use are beneficial to me in more than just social ways, so there is some unfortunate cost-benefit analysis that inevitably gets involved.

    3. Professor Paul1290

      Professor Paul1290

At the same time I understand why people would take action against something they disagree with and I want to encourage that, especially in this case since I agree with them. Unfortunately, also at the same time experience has taught me that a lot of well intentioned causes are about as competent at thinking strategically as monkeys banging on typewriters. Because of that, for better or worse, I'm inevitably going to be slower and more skeptical than my peers about adopting such changes.

I have mixed feelings about the amateur space exp movement. Too much re-inventing the wheel. The real way forward (progress) is to build an electric rail-gun in space.

Very nice... Its funny how the feeling of vertigo from the speed and heights is suddenly replaced by the fear of loosing contact with earth and being "sucked" into that dark void. You almost welcome the fact that gravity pulls you again (well, and that you have a parachute)

Yes of course, blame the "welfare state". Maybe the real problem is that corporations want to be able to pay their workers nothing, keep all of the profits to themselves, and expect taxpayers to make up the difference with social programs?

      Dragofer

You need to commit to common trade rules for a common trade union to function. See TTIP: if the US can sell gene-modified crops in Europe while the EU can't, then EU farmers get disadvantaged by the deal because of the difference in regulations. Also, boosting ex-USSR countries via infrastructure investments is a good thing because it expands the EU market.

From what I interpreted the moddb page saying, they released a CryEngine 2 beta to show to people before they moved to CE3, but attempting to use babelfish to translate their home page from Russian to English was frustrating, and babelfish couldn't handle their archives section for some reason, so unless some kindly Russian taffer can skim their archives for a CE2 release, I'll be stuck waiting for the CE3 release :|
