  1. Just started the preload at 5.4MB/s - predicted size 32.2GB
  2. which doesn't address the suggestion here assuming the change you make works
  3. The first point isn't accurate - the games files (64GB for Mankind Divided) are on the hard drive and my save files aren't uploaded either The recommended graphics card has 6GB RAM and doesn't use virtual memory as the used memory is well below that unless you go for something silly like Ultra on 4k and using it would really slow things down
  4. I just checked with Deus Ex Mankind Divided using the performance test and it peaked at about 2.1 GB estimated - total 4.67GB and that has a 16GB recommended in Win 10 so I have no idea where it gets used A thought - looking here - https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Performance_Analysis/Deus_Ex_Mankind_Divided/5.html I wondered if the memory recommended includes the video card memory but that doesn't seem to be the case and I can't find any actual tests
  5. I wonder if there will be any real use of hyper threading as that is the only real difference between the i5 and i7 for comparable speeds 16 GB Ram seems a bit over the top - it will be interesting to see the actual results Given the Win 10 recommended I assume it will use DX12
  6. Following the discussion in the Down by the Riverside thread re updates not showing as such in the new mission download section would it be worth adding the reason as given in this post to the wiki converted to an instruction http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18402-fan-mission-down-by-the-riverside-by-dragofer-20160925/?p=396486
  7. It is shown on the list for downloading but isn't indicated as an update The result is that it creates a second entry in the FM list
  8. Regarding the direction of the arrow There is a much worse example from the opposite point of view where shooting from long range with a sniper rifle causes all and sundry to focus on your exact position and throw grenades with extreme accuracy
  9. Regarding difficulty - I just checked In the main game there were Easy, Normal, Hard and Very Hard In the DLC they were Normal, Veteran, Elite and Master Assasin The reason I didn't remember Veteran was that I always played on the very hardest setting Regarding High Chaos there are two main changes as far as I can see - a lot more rats and they attack the guards if you can get them near to each other and the ending which is much more interesting and saving Emily is easily done only by using
  10. I also replayed the whole thing again at the hardest setting and thought that the Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches were too linear except for taking out the overseers using no kill which is more difficult than it sounds because they have a tendency to fall and kill themselves I also did the main mission in high chaos which is relatively easy including the final part at the lighthouse Just to add - is Veteran difficulty something from a DLC as I don't have that option
  11. Tried that and it has no effect - somewhere TDM is changing a hidden gamma setting It is system wide I now fix it by logging off and logging on again
  12. [ spoiler ]test[ /spoiler ] Testing - because you had spaces between spoiler and /spoiler and the brackets
  13. I haven't bothered - I have had other problems with my rig - wrecked front USB ports (caught my foot in the wire which short circuited something so exceeded the allowable current draw) and mouse failure so went wireless I have just left EAX disabled However I now hear crackling from the front left speaker when the rear left speaker is used all the time which needs sorting UPDATE Tried switching the left and right speakers over at the connection to the sub woofer and the problem is still on the left Tried different speaker (I had a spare) and the problem is inside the amplifier/subwoofer so it looks like new speaker system is needed Tried using the on board sound and problem has gone away so it looks as though there is a problem with the sound card - will investigate further when I next open the case
  14. In a moment of aberration I bought the DLC System Rift and it is over priced, far too short and sod all exploring
  15. Have now ordered - roll on Nov 11th - no I didn't pay full price
  16. This is going to take a fair bit of practice using the powers and saving energy I can see that this will be a long game specially with two different game play characters
  17. Alternative solution is to disconnect to speakers from the Audigy and use the onboard sound
  18. DxDiag seems OK Will now see if I have or can access the Creative drivers etc
  19. There is crackling from the front left speaker which isn't there when EAX is disabled Why this should happen I have no idea First noticed with Down by the Riverside but now there with no FM active - just the opening screen Also checked with Coercion and is also there but is masked by the ambient noise Are there any diagnostics I can try Edit - checked again in Down by the Riverside and it is there in the boat at the start but isn't there in the next section after drinking the potion but as soon as you enter the house (where the lady is sitting) it returns
  20. The usual polished mission and eminently ghostable with getting nearly all the loot (3,675) and no knockouts A suggestion for the future
  21. Playing on hardest and achieved the loot objective in the first section but failed to find the special valuable item At the end of the game
