Having the hands on screen ALL THE TIME is annoying, alright, and definitely gets in the way of gameplay as it blocks the vision. However, I admit I like some hand animations, like opening doors or when grabbing a ledge.

To be fair I don't find Pagan to be atrocious. Just unfinished and highly misunderstood. The point about Pagan was exactly to take Ultima players out of their comfort zone by forcing them to control the Avatar in a series of highly unvirtuous tasks that were nevertheless essential for his own survival, in world were practically everyone hates him. It takes a very bold move to do something like this. Ultima 8 feels almost like a complete deconstruction of Ultima as a series. Sadly, EA rush...

It's that new Avatar game they talked about before. It's Ultima without being named Ultima, because EA still owns the franchise. If you ask me, this better be good, because if you're making a modern Ultima game, YOU BEST DAMN WELL meet the expectations.
