I am working on a 1-5 room map. Basic geometry is done and detailing pass is half way there. Elapsed time 125 minutes. I am recording every second of my build and will make youtube tutorial out of it. Just a little gift to those who want to see what it takes to put out a small/tiny mission.

It is astonishing how much better performance is if I cut out a map section and use info_player_teleport to move between two separate "big rooms". If only transition is well thought and don't break immersion ofc. But fps boost is really worth it.

Out walking the dog at dawn this morning. Light-sensitive streetlight at the end of the street decides it can turn itself off. House, cars, and street near the light disappear in the dark. My first thought: a visportal closed.

Is it possible to place too many loot items in a room? I don't know if i've lost the joy because frequently obtaining loot loses its special feeling or if i've played this part of the map about a hundred times

the clever people that look after my office have made a huge board that bullet points how to use stairs safely. Where have they put it? Right in front of where people get off the office bus so people can go crashing into it as soon as they exit the vehicle. The board that highlights safety is actually a safety hazard.

Anyone know anything this? Great vid as always Gggman. btw if you ever decide to go back to this, you can Google "dsounds.dll" or "doom 3 surround sound" that somewhat fixes the surround sound in the game (Doom 3 originally supported it back in the day but seems to be missing in The Dark Mod). Having said that you're right, it's disappointing that surround sound is sorely missing from many games these days, only one I know that did it well was Alien: Isolation.

I was going through the textures in TDM earlier when I found one called "Painting11" however I can't find any painting models that use it http://i.imgur.com/UuI5x9P.png does anyone know what painting model uses this?
