  6. I had fun with the Difficult level of Too Late. In the inner sanctum, I do my usual 'douse the lights and fire' routine, then hop down to KO the cowled thug. Body falls to floor. The captain (?) immediately goes on alert. GREAT. Manage to pick up the body and get round to the adjoining area with the barrels. OK, so I've just got to dump the body. But I can't dump where I usually do (by the brazier) cuz the captain's already on alert and the noise'll just make it worse. And if I dump it here, the patrolling guard (that carried a lit torch until I put it out) may find it. GREAT. But maybe he won't. Dump body on one of the sacks. Creep back round to the brazier area. Wait till the guard in the bed area has his back turned, KO the captain and carry his body into his den without being seen. Excellent. But now I've got to dump the body. And while I'm waiting, I hear the voice of the patrolling guard from the other side of the crate wall. He's found the other body. GREAT. Drop the captain's body onto the bed. Maybe it'll be quiet. YEAH RIGHT. The patrolling guard comes barrelling in with a drawn sword faster than a greased whippet. GREATGREAT&DOUBLEGREAT. Get some sword hits, health down to 20% but manage to get past him and back up on top of the crates. Wait for everything to settle down. Especially my heart rate. Great. (Genuinely.)
  7. It does this in 1.08 and 2.0. Saw it beta-testing Too Late in 2.0 (never noticed it before) - checked in 1.08 and got the same result. On a different note (and I'm not sure if this is the right place to raise this): when you hover over an item in the settings menus, could the highlight colour be something other than white? More specifically, could the highlight colour for Aspect ratio and Screen size in the video settings menu be made darker? 2.0 opened with a really low default resolution (640x480 IIRC) which made the lettering really blurred to start with; once it turned to white against the sepia background, it was totally illegible. Took about a minute - a whole minute! - to change the settings coz I just couldn't read them. (I seem to remember I had a similar issue with 1.08.) If it's just me, no worries.

To my ears, these sizzles are more 'electric' than the D3 originals. (I am referring to the right ones? - \sound\ambient\burning\1shot_sizzle_01-3. I get confused sometimes...)

  11. Had a look at them - excellent job! Just PM'd Obs with a couple of points (I picked up one typo, and had a suggestion about maybe re-wording one line in a letter) but otherwise it looked really good - better than I'd've done, really.
  12. re manhole cover 01: Grabbed a 'metal door closing sound' off Freesound and tried to upload it three times to Soundcloud, but it keeps coming back with 'This sound is being processed' and not being available. Still working on the sizzle noises. Found some good sounds that would require attribution last night, but didn't bookmark them and can't find them now. ( x2.)

  15. Gotcha. BTW (ref grayman's comments), if I do any more sounds where the mapper thinks "Your stuff sounds like this but it's really meant to sound like this", I'm happy to have another attempt based on any additional info you give me.
  16. This is why I'm quite often uncertain about the stuff I'm doing; I'm going solely on the sounds with no visual connection to how they 'appear' in-game. Is there a way of seeing where particular sounds are used in maps? I opened St Lucia but couldn't see any method for doing this. Edit: Will do. Ref the Missing assets by map list: where it says 'Springheel/Biker/Obsttorte/grayman will make any necessary changes/updates for this map' - does that mean they/you will be handling any sound replacements needed for those missions?

  21. Ooh yes. The AI in TDM are many things, but clunky isn't one of them. (Sometimes I wish they were more clunky than they are. ) +17,010. Back OT - that hotel pic is amazing. Love the sense of high-altitude misty isolation (and the lawn growing on the roof).
