So, what are you working on right now?

Mmm... everybody's doing recessed windows and I'm mostly doing lazy stick on windows.....

Well, I've completely redone my back stairs with improved grime, worn steps, better lighting (I'll let you wait for release to see it!) and now moved on to placing AI. This is starting to bring it to life!

You need to brighten these up in Photoshop or something for the forums, as it's hard to make anything out.

It should be 43% darker on top and 11% brighter on the bottom and the wood is too thick in some places (obvious ones) while just right in others but not at that angle unless you intend to grime it up which I recommend you do before adjusting those torches so that they cast shadows in all the right places which I'm sure you will want to do upon reflection once your foliage is corrected satisfactorily.

Done that today

There is one thing I'm wondering about your first pic: how did the barrel get to those wooden beams near the roof? Is there a crane of any kind that helped heave it up? Because, from personal experience, I can say that wooden barrels are quite heavy, even the empty ones.

Yeah, but it's not something I would worry about too much. There could be a zillion explanations. Maybe it is an old barrel hauled up there for storage. Maybe it is there to hide contraband. Things in real life aren't always realistic.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

Four men met at this location and had many, many drinks. At some point they made a wager who is tough enough to carry the barrel up there. The first guy managed to carry it up there and won the wager. The others, in disappointment, beat the crap out of him and during this his bag of glowing green mushrooms poured over and caused some shrooms to grow in a weird place. Later, in reconciliation, the guys gave the beat up guy, the owner of the house, that rather valuable stuffed animal head.

Elementary, my dear Watson.:P

Okay then, but where's the ladder, my dear Sherlock? They surely didn't give him a step-up to climb up to the roof, did they?

Ah, but you've missed an important thing indeed, my dear Watson.

*Knocks on the left wall, smiling*

Surely you didn't miss the peculiar woodwork on this wall? The woodwork is so thick that an adult man could easily use it as footholds while clambering upwards with a barrel. Indeed, this tells us the man who got the barrel all the way up was surely a very strong one, which also explains why it required 3 other men to beat him. Also pay attention to the location of the mushrooms. It looks obvious to me that he was attacked by the other men when he was climbing back downwards, and it was that very moment when he poured his bag of glowing green mushrooms. All the evidence we need is indeed here.

Everything that is required from us is to pay attention to the minute details, my dear friend. It is time to call the Scotland Yard to apprehend the butler, as his involvement in the murder is obvious.

LOOOOL Ya know, it could actually have happened this way. Kudos to you, my British upper-class friend, you have indeed a fine eye for details! ^_^

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
