Eeeep.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

That's a nice one AB!

Just remember to fight the urge to show too much of the horror stuff in advance. It loses it's effect if everyone has seen them in YT videos beforehand.

Also for sounds, be sure to check you have mono sounds. I think those were in stereo, and you lose the positioning of the sound.

Being able to determine the direction where the sound comes is suprisingly important in horror genre.

Don't worry, there's plenty more where this came from. It's not all just a spectator event either.

It is, had no idea that affected the directional audio though. Fix'd.

Wow Merry, where did you get those sound effects?

Fairly heavily edited sounds from SCP Containment Breach, very indie and under creative commons licensing ^_^

Not that I disagree with the sentiment, but I think it's dependent on how it flows/plays. For example, if you were to tell someone what you spent 4 hours doing in DayZ, or show them a recording, they'd be bored out of their minds.... make them live it, and have a towel and a teddy bear on hand. Provided AB can deliver more moments like that, even knowing they're coming won't insulate you from the effect. See: WP scene from SpecOps The Line.

Ah good man, I was wondering how you were getting on with this.

You lot are in for a treat I can tell you, think of your favorite Skacky city mission and then put a Melan/Rttc flair on it and then you have this mission. This one make more use verticality than any other released TDM mission to date and borrowes inspiration from some of the campaign city mission's Melan and I have worked on.

Top tip for this mission, be carefull when gawking around as its a long way down... :D

On weaker machines, the mission will run like snails on molasses. That is the price of progress. ;)

(Not much optimisation has been done yet; many visportals are still to be placed, and so on. It will be better, although not radically better.)

The FPS counter reading in screenshots are meaningless. The number can be pretty much anything usually.

+1. I've experienced this all the time I've been taking screenies.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
