Mysterious!

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

For 'dirtying up' roads; how about a seed for puddles & weeds & mud?

Something like alpha masks for the relevant textures where puddles (edges of the road, with low probability), or another for weeds (cobble edges, moss or single small weeds, adjustable probability - since more rustic roads will have more weeds than city roads).

Of course, i'm armchair generaling here.

So I was able to put that cave model I did into the game, using the most simple method possible. Looks pretty bad, but it is nice walking inside your own model. ;)

Stumpy - nice scene, but needs some good dirt scattered around, everything but the models look very clean and crisp!

i30817 - Maybe it could work, but in my experience, and considering weeds, mud and water tend to be at specific areas of street geometry in real life, it is necessary to just go in there and place them all by hand, one by one...

Ah- that looks pretty good :)

I'd be interesting at looking at what is happening with the model. Since my exporter does not export vertex normals, it seems like the engine's generated ones seem to be incorrect (caves are an interesting case for this). Any chance you can package up the map+model so that I can have a look around? :)

Looks pretty interesting, nicer than patch caves tho!

Hmmm, I don't recall that shield-shaped sign. Is it new?

I'm updating one of my previously released mission's and here are the wip shots, enjoy :-)

How did you do those dust particles in the pub in the last shot?

It's a particle effect, Fieldmedic!!!

That warms my heart. Nice work.

If you find the new Beatles song "Now and Then", which was created with the help of AI, totally boring, then you should better play the mission of the same name by our esteemed mission maker friend joebarnin, because the latter is actually a creative milestone!

      Idea: Thief 3 style missions.
One of the great features of Thief 3 are missions defided in small segments with loading screens when you move from segment to segment. We all miss those right? I was thinking of mapping only horizontal, so not stacked. When you go up or down (stairs or elevator), you get a 20 seconds fake loading screen where you can play a minigame (The Builder's Blocks?). After that you get teleported to a different area that seems to be on top of the first, but actually isn't in the map file. It's much easier mapping, because you can see everything in one glance from above. This could also give more freedom building, because it doesn't have to fit. Everything is predictable because guards don't move to different sections.
This could be used for the Thief 3 contest possibly..

Just found out by accident how to change the tittle of a topic you made. You long-click (2 seconds) on a topic tittle, then you get an edit dialog to change the topic title.
The other way I know of is to edit the first post.

I always find it kind of strange that in DR you can't apply spawnargs on specific brushes (I think), but you can apply textures. But those are not listed as spawnargs, so they're difficult to see except if you select the brush and go into the Surface inspector.
Wouldn't it be easier if DR would list textures for every seperate brush in the entity view?
