STiFU
That's gorgeous Siyah!!! So dark and grimy and perfect lighting. Only the very sharp step on the ground strikes me a little as unnatural. Maybe you can round it off a little or try a texture with a heavier normalmap and some clever texturealignment or something like that. Baal
That looks great. Do you use coloured ambient lighting in that scene? It looks a bit like it but that could be my monitor.

Nothing can escape from you expert's notice. However, I'll probably use black one again, because it effects lighting gem.
Baal
However, I'll probably use black one again, because it effects lighting gem. There is a way to lower the lightgems value a bit to compensate for this. I forgot how but it should be very simple. You should try to keep it that way because the orange/red light of the torches can get very dull without some kind of contrast. I forgot how but it should be very simple.try lightgem_adjust on worldspawn. As this affect the whole map that might not do the trick if the colored ambient light is locale. Bikerdude
that looks epic Jesps!but the bridge supports dont look realistic, I would fill in the arches, or atleast make them from the same material as the rest of the stonework..

Bikerdude
that mountain side looks epic also.. but that carriage is something else.. did you make that, does it move..?Oh and you should use the grass-edge patches on that path, its very easy. Sotha
Yep. Both of the screenies look lovely. Somehow I like Fieldmedic's shot a bit more though. It has this tranquil 'summer day at the cottage' vibe. The summer theme is probably also more challenging for gameplay, few notes:Sparse buildings, rather flat local landscape: might be difficult to make the skybox world look good when the player moves around. It might add realism to the skybox if you added some distant buildings. You could check Mandrasola how to do this: basically they were just toy bursh houses with a lot of caulk. Just make sure the building are far enough it does not feel wrong when they do not move with the player.Soundscape is very important in a summer day scene: be sure to grab some audiofiles and add birds singing, grasshoppers, water, gentle summer breeze, etc. www.freesound.org is a nice source for custom sounds. And a tip for Jesps too:That chasm you have there is screaming to have someone fall in it. (I seem to have this odd compulsion...) If you think of having that bridge collapse or maybe make it retractable, all the science has already been done for you here: http://modetwo.net/d...ing-drawbridge/ All you gotta do is follow the recipe.. Good luck for all the mappers. Scandinavian mappers for the win! Quote Clipper-The mapper's best friend.

STiFU
if I'm not mistaken,Ranstall Keep was completely black and whiteThat's correct and if I remember correctly, there is a way leading out of the initial city and there is also a bridge and buildings like that. Melan
Ranstall Keep was originally released for TDP in colour and later reworked for TMA in B&W (and was the first mission to use that trick). Quote Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. DeTeEff
Thanks for the skybox tips. It was from your tut on the wiki I created it. I have a clear angst for the B-test phase though As for sounds, just you wait

Komag
I thought Ranstall Keep was B&W for TDP, then redone for TMA in Sepia tones
Melan
That was probably more about texture choice (and of course unifromly white lights in TDP).
