Crashes after load screen

My hardware: AMD x2 3GHz (each) ATI RADEON 4850 HD Win Vista Ultimate with maxed out 3.5GB DDR2 RAM 888MHz

Mainboard is an M2N I have the most updated drivers and 1.3.1. Doom as ive checked this while running Doom 3 (which runs just fine)

 

The Game Loads then says "Mission Loaded, Please wait" Then the Game will crash saying Doom 3 has stopped responding and as follows with the signature

Hey there,

 

Please make sure you're using the latest gfx drivers and then change the Catalyst AI setting to 'off'

 

Theres a good chance thats causing it - so lets try that first!

Yep -- That's your graphics driver. I have a Radeon HD 4850, myself. It's a bit finicky what Catalyst AI version you have. Mine only likes 9.2 with TDM. Others' 4850s only like 9.11, 9.10, or 9.8. Search the forums for "Catalsy AI", there are other people with the same problem.

I guess though the patch is 1.3... the app .exe doesn't acknowledge that.

Ok I did disable the Catalist AI.

I tried the training mission and that now works. the mission i kept trying to load before was challice of kings.

the game runs nicely but I've noticed that the Vsync just won't enable so now I get this slight screen tear while running. Come to think of it none of the video settings are changing even when I restart the game.

 

Oh well so far so decent.
